Hi Chuck, I enjoy your content and the way you present it. I do have some experience with nmap myself. What I'd like to add for people who are interested is, that you still can scan hosts which seem (!) to be down. A default nmap scan will do a quick icmp (ping) scan against the host. So use the switch "-Pn" in addition. It will treat the host as if it is up and do the scans anyway. If you still run into a lot of errors, the host might be down for real or you are blocked by a firewall. Cheers

CLARIFICATION : As Chuck said, Stealthy TCP handshake isn't stealthy no more. Any good IDS will definitely lookout for nmap based scanning, and if they see a TCP handshake not being completely made, red flags will go up. Not necessary to worry about if you do pentesting or bug bounties, but this might be helpful in other red team vs blue team competitions.
Thanks for the clarification. If you are searching for bug bounty’s on random companies, isn’t it illegal to run these Nmap scripts without permission?

That hate keeps @NetworkChuck warm at night.
Great tutorial and presentation
He should've said, 'You need to learn hacking, RIGHT NOW!"
hacking or cracking ?
Probably the best nmap tutrial Eve had.. thankyou. Network chuck kindly do more such video .. it is very helpful for learners like us to upgrade our skill in cybersecurity.
for all the people who think that if you usd the -sS the system will 100% wont catch you its false(not true), systems today are advanced and a good firewall will catch you.
Hey, dont normally comment on vids, but really like your, very clear, great examples, and love learning new tech and code
The explanation of TCP was very good and simple 🙂. I learned all the protocols and the other basic network stuff in school last year in my apprenticeship. The rest of the video is also very nice!
Showing what this looks like on both ends of the interaction was PERFECT. Thank you for making these videos, I've only recently discovered your content, and you've taught me a lot
Love nmap. Stunning piece of software.
I ... love ... the ... video
Not only because of the tool Nmap that i'm study right now but because it is one of the best video that i have saw since ever. I enjoyed watching your video thank you very much an continue doing good stuffs like this.
Can't stay focused on hacking when there's such an amazing beard on the corner of the screen :D
weirdo
I’ve learned a ton from your videos brother… thank you! I honestly got lost after the first 10 min of the videos. I did however just setup my first PFSense firewall thanks to you and I’m on video no. 3 of the CCNA. Hopefully I’ll be able to look back at these videos and say “that’s some easy $hit, I got this.” (Cracking my fingers). Thanks again brother.
One thing that makes Network Chuck totally Unique is its hardwork to create so unique and crazy attractive Thumbnails 🔥
Thank you for your videos! You're re-sparking my passion for networking relating computing and will probably have me take a certification in the next months!
The standard of your videos is truly insane. Top-notch sound & video, engaging environment, entertainment... you hit every nail perfectly according to me.
I really appreciate the effort you clearly put into your channel and most of all these tutorials. Keep up the good work, may good things be on your way!
Constructive criticism: The hacking part of the intro is a bit over the top i.e. a second or two too long, otherwise it's an amazing piece of work. I really like the aesthetics, it's just going on for a bit too long :)
TCP - Transmission Control Protocol not Transport Control Protocol.
Thanks brother.. appreciate it💝
transmission and transport are still kind of the same thing
This is the best tech related channel on UA-cam!
how do i know wahts my network id
Ip a s
The way you explain is commendable. Video is completed just the way nmap showing results in seconds 🔥
Just remember, everything covered in this video (Including the "stealth" scan) can be picked up by IDS. Nmap is noisy as hell.
then what do u recommend using?
I had to subscribe after 5 mins into this vid. Great content and much appreciated for your efforts mate.

Think I just found my fav UA-cam teacher haha. I'm just beginning my journey but you have kept my attention ,whereas others don't. Thank you
Some viewers may appreciate John Hammond’s try hack me videos
The problem is that John assumes you know some of the stuff that our big bearded Chuck shows us more detail on
@@Henchman0077 the more you watch him the more familiar you get. But yeah, he could do with explaining what each tool he uses is, what it does and how it works.
For someone who didnt came from any network world you helped me alot! thank you!
heh I crashed my router doing the vuln scan
Whoops
what brand and model you got?

simply the best tutorial I have come across! I will subscribe
Chuck … your delivery is A1 👍 love it … content, pace and depth is easily digested ! keep it up mate .. regards from Adelaide Australia 🙏
I don't know if you still read comments, especially for older vids... but I found your channel about a year or more ago. Was a mechanical engineer major (recently graduated), with a bit emphasis on programming when I found you. I found your channel by looking up some Python guides. I've been looking to do more raspberry pi projects and you seem to never run out of them. Will def give this a try, along with the other ones you've done on networking. Thank you so much and appreciate all the hard work you've put in!
Just a reminder to everyone learning cybersec and IT: college is expensive, boring, and gives you a degree. Our man Chuck, however, is free, hilarious, and gives you what you actually need to use tools effectively.
Bro...... your tutorials are so more engaging than anything on udemy
What a legend! Taught me more in 17 mins than my lecturer did in a month.
Networkchuck I can't thank you enough. I'm 40 yrs old and decided I couldn't take a 17th year as a retail manger. Left my career not knowing were I was headed. somehow I found David Bombal and your channel here on UA-cam. I signed up at INE.com to become a pen-tester awsome course learn a lot. I ran into a slight issue along the way I don't know shit about computers lol no background and don't know anyone in the industry. So when I get stuck or don't completely understand I used to be on my own. Wanted to try hack the box and saw nmap right away. My next course is nmap . I knew I was stuck without thinking I came directly to see what Networkchuck had for answers . As always exactly what I needed and some extra . my learning routine everyday now consists of INE.com courses and 1 hr of Networkchuck/David covering that same info. THANK YOU !
Amazing how you mix sense of humour with tech. Chuck All the best you do fantastic job❤ Very nice to listen and watch ! For someone who was green In all of this you become for me and others kind of "Mentor" 😅
High quality content as always! thanks Chuck!
NetworkChuck is the best teacher on youtube, Thank you for this amazing video on nmap basics.
