Bought it. For a non audio engineer who is always recording in untreaded areas for education content, it was great. No way i could have got the de echo result with my level of skill.
Waves gets hate, but they do create some brilliantly simple plugins that let musicians use our ears. They also are releasing more sophisticated ones like this and Silk Vocal that can be combined to bring the life back into the cleaned up vox.
Listening on a good set of studio monitors I can still hear way too much reverb even when you crank the thing up to 100% and I also hear a bunch artifact, I am not impressed one bit, now I do have the original clarity of VX which is great for getting rid of like a light fan noise or something running in your room but, when it comes to the De reverb you guys are either using clips with too much River or it just sucks
Yes. I just wanted to move the dials so the listener can hear what the plugin can do manually. Sorry that i did not include the learn feature on some of those.
Clarity VX is more effective at cleaning recordings’ ambient and room noises, while DeReverb is more effective at smoothing the reverberation/reflections in the ambiance. For instance, if you record your voice outside on a busy street or in a park, Clarity VX would effectively clean out the city’s background noise. However, if you record in an indoor parking lot or garage, DeReverb will remove all the ambient reflections. So, if you are recording in an indoor hall with reflections plus a background noise of AC fun, both plugins would be needed. I hope this answers your question. 😀
@@aceshigh025 Not sure how or why it's "not fair". Download 8 and 10 and you will see the algo has not changed much if any at all. Thanks for your feedback
@@PaulMDiaz I'm not saying that your video isn't insightful at all because you used 8. It just would be helpful to make it clear to viewers that you're comparing an older version that could be using an older algorithm, which could leave different impressions. People aren't going out to buy 8 right now. Even if 10 is only 5% better than 8, it's still not a "fair" representation of Izotope. And if you're so confident 10 isn't much different than 8...which would infer that you've A/B'd them...why didn't you just use 10 for the video?
@@aceshigh025 I own both 8 and 10, reached for the first one I saw. Both DeReverb modules respond the same way. That portion of RX has not changed. The point of this video was not to compare all De-Reverb plugins, it was made to help people decided if the new waves plugin is worth it and fortunately I have all these to compare with. Sorry if you felt it was unfair to you or izotope. Thanks again for the comments.

It's a good purchase. I think you'll get plenty of use from it. Enjoy!
Maybe a skilled audio guy can do slightly better.... but At the very least the time savings are immense. 1 dial!! can't beat it@@PaulMDiaz
Great Plugin, great review! Nice a simple!

I can’t agree more!
This combo is magic...waves nailed it again LOL
Yes and yes!
holy shit. That is excellent
Amazing!! 😍😍😍
Good value at $30. Thanks for watching and commenting
Does anyone know if you can use waves dereverb while recording ?

Is there a reason why you didn't use the "Learn" buttons of any of those plugins to let them to calibrate themselves?
Yes. I just wanted to move the dials so the listener can hear what the plugin can do manually. Sorry that i did not include the learn feature on some of those.
Thanks good comparison..So when is best situation to buy only Clarity VX rather than DeReverb, and which situation is best to have both?

Sounds really good. Hearing no artifacts!
Izotope is no longer the best in the game. Both Acon and Waves blew it out of the water.
Agree.I have not used izotope in a good while.
This is showing RX8, not RX10. Not a fair comparison.
