Telling teens not to have sexual intercorse is not going to work. You have to inform them of the risks and prevention mechanism.

The more you tell that dog not to chew on the steak the more it gonna want to.
Or just in spite of you telling them what to do.
Better be careful and aware when doing it, than doing it and mess up badly.
Making people understand the risks make then less likely to risk it

    • @mok.6085

      Sad but true.
Plus, even within states, our public schools are incredibly inconsistent.
If a district has a high tax base, you might have a bunch of students who would want to get any class that isn’t weighted out of the way as soon as they can. (I’m the product of one such high school, and if most just consider high school the prequel to a “good” college, way too many pupils will treat that time like an equation.) On the other hand, there’s also public school districts that fumble to fill the gaps of what the rest of the community should ideally provide their students. I’ve read articles about school districts in counties that might not even have a grocery store, let alone a tax base or a good regional reputation, doing more work than the children’s neighbors or social workers in meeting their needs.
Worst of all, economic inequality is getting so horrible that there’s going to be even less middle ground between those extremes.

I am from Bulgaria and in my country during our biology classes when we had topics in our books about how pregnancy is caused, our teachers were always explaining about men's and women's reproductive systems in a very scientific and thougtful way! Our books where this topic was explained was for pupils who were already between 16-18 years old. There is nothing shameful or not "Christian" young adults to know how important is to make right choices and to be educated. Also during the fight AIDS days our school (and a lot other schools) was providing everyone with free condoms and educational material about AIDS, drugs, we also had documentaries which we were watching at school about drug addiction, aids, etc. My country is one of the poorest in Europe, if we can do it, for sure America can as well!!!!!

What is almost as sad as the current state of the sexual education system in the US, is that they have to argue against it with economics. It seems teenage pregnancies and STIs are not bad enough on their own, it's only bad if it effects the economy. God forbid, they would do something just because it helps people.

It feels like society and parents discourage you from getting married and starting a family until 25, and then complaining when they still aren't married with kids at 35.
