  • In the latest edition of our Niles Essanay and Norman Studios Silent Film Museums' "Early Filmmaking in Jacksonville, Florida" series, film historian Ned Thanhouser talks about his family's production work in Florida at the turn of the last century.
In addition, two rare Thanhouser shorts that were shot in St. Augustine and Jacksonville are screened courtesy of the Thanhouser Company Film Preservation initiative. For more information, visit thanhouser.org.
And please visit normanstudios.org and nilesfilmmuseum.org to learn more about our respective organizations.

Love the film strip with the Thanhouser branding. There is a great channel called 'The Golden Age 20s; which has a selection of Thanhouser shorts.
Thank you for your efforts in recording and presenting fascinating history of a mighty industry.

The Vicar of Wakefield's by Oliver Goldsmith. (I still love Thanhouser's films.)
