I just made one myself from the same material I got it at Lowe's granted yours looks super clean. I cut mine with jig saw let me tell you mine looks like crap now I thought it looked good yesterday but after watching this one I can't bare to look at mine now lol
That’s still awesome that you went after it with a jigsaw. I used to make everything the had way (by hand) and I was rarely happy with it. Now I only use computers, lasers, CNCs, printers, etc.
Your talents are endless. I really can’t wait to get back into the aquarium hobby. I’ll be starting from scratch, so between the Fluval 13.5, the IM peninsula and the Fiji Cube 38 Peninsula, which would you choose and why? I prefer the longer/thinner profile peninsulas and those seem to fit that bill. The Waterbox peninsula tanks are more squarish to me. Did you purchase all your cool toys (3D printer and CNC router) for hobby stuff or is there a professional reason that’s not aquarium related? I would love to have both of those tools at my disposal but it is hard to justify the CNC for me. I’m sure I could convince the “boss” on a 3D printer. Thanks for another awesome video, good luck on the repairs - we definitely got a good soaking up in Monterey.
Thank you, I also prefer the long profile tanks and your assessment of WB tanks is correct. They are more square than others. I haven’t set my IM tank up yet but it’s probably what I would go with. I like the size of the 20g peninsula but the primary season I would choose it is the thickness of the glass. It’s 8mm when the standard would be 6 for a tank that size. I have a 25g tank that has 6mm glass. Overall the tank is just solid. I do have a unique tank design that I’ll be releasing later this year. It’s very different from anything that currently exists 😉. I’ve been 3d printing since 2012 but none of these tools are much help unless you learn how to 3d model. All the tools (CNC, laser, etc) I got because I modeled something that I wanted to make. If you get the tools before learning how to make stuff you will only be able to make things that others create and the tools won’t get much use.
Excellent Nanao Reef setup you have there!!! Other small wrasses like the Yellow Cory can help with those flat worms. Also a Caribbean Pigmy Angel, but I don't know how common are they in the trade these days
Sorry to hear about the damage to your home. Luckily you are talented enough to do some of your own work! Love the custom lid. For those of us that have your roller mat for the Fluval 13.5, would you ever consider making/selling one of your custom lids? Just curious.
I wasn’t planning on selling these but your not the first to ask. I’ll talk to my local CNC shop to see if they can make them. My garage CNC would never produce the quality that is necessary.
How do you combat your tank from flooding due to the rollermat being sliughtly clodged ive come home a few times where the watwr was just about to start over flowing thank god do you have an automatic roller coming out soon or how can i set one up cause i do see the gear on the rear on the rollers so gets me wondering can i
Hey, I just make sure to roll my mat a little everyday. I’ve only once had an issue with clogging but I could see how a tank with more bioload could flood faster. I’m currently testing an automatic roller. It’s probably a few months away.
I actually don’t like the design on the stand all that much. If I was to redo it, I would do everything different. I’m going to make a stand for the IM 20g peninsula soon and it going to be totally different. I think you will like the IM stand style better. It’s coming soon.
@@ISeaLive i love your work all around! and the very sketchy table i have it on now needs replacing :D. perfectly timed i just bought an IM 20g second hand and need a good stand for that too!
@@Layheeee solid, I’ll not doing wood this time. I’m going to use t slot aluminum extrusion with magnets panels to easily get inside the stand. I’m hoping to just make it a kit that anyone can order. I hope to get working on it this week.
@@ISeaLive dude how are you able to do this while keeping up with home damage! you're superman, you already got me hooked with the roller, i actually had an idea of trying to use one of those new apex water level sensors to automatically tell me when the floss is getting too clogged, it looks like the 4 inch probe might fit, but im not sure how i would mount it.
Hi Jit Kid, I've had 50+ tanks and the only time one damaged a house was with my first freshwater tank when I was 8. We didn't use a hose clamp on a filter and 20 gallons got pumped out when the hose slipped off. Salt creep refers to when salt will start to appear on the lid or the light arm or on cords that come out of the tank from the heater. It is not something that is in any way a danger to your house. It's more a concern as to how it can affect your water parameters. Your tanks salinity can start to drop slightly. Just clean the salt and check the salinity and you are good to go.
Yeah, I'm gonna need 1 of these lids as well 😄
ISeaLive is an amazing company with great’s custom services
Very nice lid..
Thank you 😊

Thank you 👍🏻
Getting out of California is like getting out of a bad relationship. Its hard, but once you are on the other side its amazing.
Hmmm 🤔 it’s a possibility but definitely would not be leaving because of the weather 😉
@@ISeaLive Weather isn't the factor. Everything else is.
Keep it up, loving the 16HD light mount and defuser!

Good luck with the water damage, maybe the alien knows more about it.. 👽
That dude keeps creeping around in the backyard lol 😂
Nice lid you should sell them as a kit with the fitted lid , net , and gasket. I would buy one for my 90.
Thank you, I’ll have to consider it in the future for sure👍🏻
Hey, all the best to you and your house. Something like that for my Waterbox 15g Aquairum would be perfect
Thank you, I actually just made one for the WB 15g pen. I’ll have a video on it soon.
Most scooter Blennies work for flatworm’s
Do you have any of these lids for sale? It’ll look real nice on my fluval! Great builds as always.
I might make it for sale soon. I am checking with a company that can make it for me. My CNC would burn out trying to make a few of these.
Have you removed the black plastic from the base of the tank (the “stand”) I’m considering doing this and wondered how you found it if you did please?
I didn't remove the base but I made the stand so that the tanks base fits inside the stand. I guessing that it will be really easy to remove.
best wishes with that home damage D:
Thank You 👍🏻
