That saxophone in the sponsor segment really did it for me. 10/10 - would sponsor again. And we love your work too, Dave!
Also: That zenithal with two shades of brown is really smart. I can't believe I hadn't thought about that before...
I wouldn't have either if the studio didn't have a rack of 40 rattlecans :p - Thankyou!
Can't wait for the dnd game!! These turned out so cool
A few comments on the Rafting on one of the 3D prints - So as I mentioned in this video, this was my first time using FDM 3D printers. I set up the Vyper, but I didn't set up the Flashforge, we rapidly had to use that to fit our time crunch, and I just used the settings that had already been set up on it. The perils of time crunch and doing things quickly. I'm actually doing another print today on the flashforge, and I have turned off rafts - They seem silly on these flat based terrain models!
If the bottom of the fdm print is flat, there's no need to print on a raft (and thus no need to remove it). I typically just use a skirt (2-3 rotations) so it gets the plastic flowing a little before printing. Also, I have found I get better results if I print one model at a time rather than loading up the build plate. Printing more models doesn't actually save a lot of time on an FDM printer since it still has to make those physical movements and transitions between models (unlike resin which can print a whole build plate at the same speed as a single model).
I never print on a raft. I just use a brim if they are small models for the extra surface area or a skirt if it's a big one to check the level and prime the extruder. Rafts are almost always a waste and annoying to remove if the settings aren't perfect.
I agree, brim in case of small area sticking to the baseplate or skirt if the printed model has a lot of area to stick to the baseplate. Works great.
Usually, models with a larger surface area print fine without a raft but it wouldn't hurt, when using an FDM printer, to slice larger terrain models with a brim instead of a raft. It will save the print from, possibly, lifting off the bed and save your hands from cuts as well as saving post processing time! Keep up the great work!
Definitely great kickstarters to back. Lots of handy little minions and bosses for games. The terrain is also great.
Wow ! I sculpted those for 3D Printed Tabletop and man, you brought them to life ! Great paintjob (and glad you like them). Print and paint the King now !
Thankyou - I personally backed and look forward to painting my own set of the Kobold Coalition and painting some of my favorites in more depth. The king is on the list - but really, how can I look past the T-Rex! Great sculpts
Break the supports off prior to curing (after washing, wear gloves as it still needs to cure) and make sure you tune your supports in and they will come off super easy. For a good chitubox support guide I would check into 3dprintingpro's video on chitubox support settings. My supports peel off like they never even attached and my prints come out flawless.
You guys are so cool, I love your videos! Probably my favorite youtube channel at the moment! You love what you do and truly enjoy being creative.
Heck yeah! More hang out time with Dave!
I appreciate the contrast+ approach to painting minis for table readiness rather than display
Looking forward to seeing you guys play some D&D.
Have you had a look at the Epic Encounters stuff from Steamforged Games. Great models and fun 5e encounters.
I get why you used a raft for your terrain (I use it as well to avoid any minor warped spots in my print bed), buuuut you can optimize that way more and avoid the whole hassle of removing the raft. I’d recommend you to play around with the distance between the raft and model, it’ll let you keep flat bases while you’ll be able to practically remove the raft with your bare hands. If your bed is perfectly flat, or you don’t care about minor warped spots, just go for a skirt instead of raft, it saves a lot of time and material.
Kobolds plus Molotovs are always a good time-- I love how angry they are lmao
Tabletop Time make a video when you create a character and then sculpt them and paint. And awesome video ❤️
I’ve been printing a dungeon and the stuff you guys have shown me has been really helpful
I’m glad the mini content is back!
Cool! I remember a campaign that I participated in where we were all Kobolds and we were the "nasty little things".
Those minis and terrain look so cool! Can’t wait to see the encounter!
I tend to reheat the bed on larger prints with a raft like that and the bed comes off SOOO much easier
Fine job you did with those minis, Dave. Looking forward to the game.
One question: have you ever considered a "Jazza Studios Blood Bowl" league?
Gotta get a flex plate for those resin printers! Much love for all you do~
this leading up to the game is the perfect format. love the content lately!
The models are looking great! I'm excited for D&D, but I have to ask: do we know when the next Cogent campaign is starting? I need another one in my life!
This was fun I want to paint minis now
I’m currently locked out of my Apartment and rewatching some painting videos. Hope to see these loveable bastards in Ragtag
At the risk of being escorted out of the room and over a cliff for invoking what I hope is an obscure reference: ... **ahem** ... "ELEVEN DAYS."
Lore of pretty much every TTRPG ever: Kobolds don't have to be red.
Everyone every time they paint a kobold: R E D.
Love mini work 🖤 and yay more D&D!
Ahhhh awkward endings. 👏👏👏👏
Pure art 🖼
For God`s love, we need that Cogent patch
I'm so excited for the game! Brilliant job Dave!
Tasty little kobolds looking great all packed in barrels ready to nom lol
I love those awkward endings lol!
“He’s wearing a barrel” 😍
btw you don't need to use rafts for these printers any more a brim will do. saves you time and don't need to remove it
Kobolds got pack tactics. They Will reck low lvl parties if played smartly and as a pack. 8 Kobolds can easy kill a pc making the encounter deadly. Packanimals will single out the weakest member, and there is no reason to not presume that the smarter kobold will also be able to deduce this :) I love kobolds!
If you have good bed adhesion you do not need a raft which means no struggle removing it
Can't wait to see the next part
All Praise be to the Dave!
"my painting license is going to be revoked!" *The police are already on their way*
I'm super excited to see how these play out in the one shot!!
Every time you get jabbed, throwing things at Jazza and screaming "YOU DID THIS TO ME!" will help. Honest.
To be serious, who don't love these small and cute kobolds
These look so POG
So excited for some dnd
Nice and efficient!
Do you need a 3D printer to order them or can you just order them all ready 3D printed?
is it really so hard to set up a spray painting "booth" so you wont do it outside ?
Yay more D&D!
That CR calculation was off...
When you have MORE monsters vs players the action economy is effected, this easily snowballs to overwhelm especially a smaller party!
Action economy SUPER effects CR!
How big is the party 3-4 PCS
... You can't simply add them together...
You also need to take into consideration the PCs ACs vs the average damage and basically how likely the enemies are to hit them. The lower the PCs levels the easier they die especially to a Crit. This encounter seems overwhelming for NEW players at LV 3! I'd use it against expert powergamers. Also if the kobolds have ranged weapons...
Yeah I'd bet on the Kobolds for this one.
I feel the PCs better have high ACs and be powergaming because the more enemies (particularly if they have ranged attacks) the more likely a TPK.
CR and battle calculations are messed up in 5e sadly.
On paper this 'should' be easy
However in practice several other factors NEED to be considered.
Tailor encounters to your players and consider a less in more approach for low level and inexperienced players. One more powerful monster can be ganged up on and tag teamed. an army of smaller monsters overwhelmes... be warned!
If a Cleric has Turn/destroy undead an army of Zombies or Skeletons SHOULD be less of an issue. Be aware an army of 1000 commoners armed with shortswords and shortbows WILL Kill a 20th lv barbarian (for example). Even 50 are a threat!
If the PCs have magic items, good ranged weapons, decent tactics and ranged spell attacks and perhaps think outside of the box by say light things on fire, they would absolutely be fine.
The problem is these are NEW players....
I won't be surprised if this goes horribly wrong.....
Sorry I have a lot of experience DMing 5e just had to say my 2 cents.
I was thinking the same thing! 10 kobolds against 3 PC’s… Good luck PC’s! 😅
If they outnumber the PCs you double the CR dont you?
@@MrMaltavius exactly! But you need to take how well the pcs play and how powerful they are/tactics into account too. Its way less of a big deal to throw a hoard of kobolds at a PC with Fireball who can take them ALL out in one shot, for example.
I know Im not the only one who goes
Iiiiiits table top time
With you all 😂
Where is the skull terrain from?
hi dave
I can wipe out my party of lv3s with 5 kobolds if I felt like it
Those 7 dislikes are from players who have departed this world at the hands of a Kolbold or two or a hoard 😅
Yay
does anyone else get tons of warhammer 40k ads when they watch this but not for anything else? like, are the ads you get correlated to what you are watching?
Please do some Lord of the Rings and get ZorpaZorp involved seeing as you're both Aussies :D
Love that you're working with a resin printer but you should definitely wear a proper mask. One that helps against chemical fumes.
"the self-imposed time limit! NOOOooOOOoOoOoOoo"
Why did they print the larger models on rafts. They already had flat bottoms. Rafts are a waste of plastic
to give it a 'base' and to add extra environmental details (dirt etc) to tie it all together.
Flat-bottomed prints don't really need rafts.
no dont kill the kobolds they are so cute
When you start speaking your voice is loud but by the end of your statement I can barley hear u 😂😂🤣🤣your volume goes down
