So awesome to finally see someone else who appreciates John Smith as much as I do. He really is an overlooked teacher nowadays. About 40% of what my son does on his feet comes from John, and the other 60% comes from J'Den Cox, another highly underappreciated wrestler.

John W changed the game. I believe his skill set is timeless. The elbow control stuff can be modernized.

@@CreightonWrestling My son still uses the traditional low single from space, and it works. I think what prevents people from having the same success is they don't do all the drills that John developed to be able to do it. Another aspect that he only talks about in one of his videos is learning to slide on pads. My son got very good at that and now uses it for his sweep singles as well to be able to shoot at angles that would otherwise not exist. Seriously throws off opponents.
