Relationship to the Great Compassion Mantra -
It is generally believed that this dhāraṇī has no direct relationship with the The Great Compassion Mantra in Mahayana Buddhism. However, it is often falsely named as Tibetan Great Compassion Mantra (藏传大悲咒) or The Great Compassion Mantra in Sanskrit (梵音大悲咒) in Chinese-speaking regions.
Some people believe that this dhāraṇī is told by the Eleven-Faced Avalokitesvara, an esoteric bodhisattva in Tibetan Buddhism, and that it is the equivalent Tibetan version of The Great Compassion Mantra in Mahayana Buddhism. This is why it is often being referred to as Tibetan Great Compassion Mantra. However, this opinion is not accepted by most Mahayana Buddhists.

The beauty of Buddhism is that there is no conversion, there is no one scare you into submission, there is salvation except by your own accord. The whole concept is based on karma which dictate our actions, do good and be at peace all the time, do bad and always be on the look out. I was never into Buddhism until I had to deal with a terrible situation 8 years ago. A friend, who is now like a brother to me, save me from it. I considered he was a incarnation of Avalokiteshvara. I used to listen to this mantra 18 years ago, a Tibetan friend of mine gave it to me. Then life went so fast and i forgot about it. In a recent visit to China i heard this mantra in a small temple. I don't know why it touches me like this. I'm so happy i found it 18 years later.

I tell myself not to let any relationship ruin my life.My latest one he stopped talking because I he was offended about something I said.I apologised profusely but he did not forgive me.I did not go to work for 2 weeks because I was attached to him....I couldn't let go ...But not worth it ..2 weeks salary gone..if he cares...he would have easily forgiven me because life is impermanent....if he knows that he would settle our quarrels...NO MORE RELATIONSHIPS FOR ME...BUDDHISM IS MY LIFE NOW FROM TODAY ONWARDS

Hello my brother, I'm from Malaysia too, from Sarawak, I'm a native, in my state it very rare to find a bumiputra who are Buddhist. At the very beginning I found it very difficult because most Sutras are in mandrin. And during Sutras recitation, every session, all in mandrin.
