Enabling Supermoto Mode - KTM Duke 390

- To use the Supermoto Mode in the KTM Duke 390, you need to change the ride mode from Road to Supermoto. It's easy to do but must be done manually each time you start the bike. Here I run you through the steps on how to do it. Once you know what you are doing it only takes a few moments and can be done while waiting at the lights.

I think I got these from Supermofools but they are cycle mirrors. They were a good proof of concept but had to be adjusted after riding at speed.
Do have plans to put in standalone ecu and full tuning, if so what are ur options for the current gen duke 390 (ridebywire)

In my 2022 Duke, Supermoto mode can be set while moving and can also be set a shortcut to it which is very handy, i change it without looking
no "ABS off" though 😞
Yes, 2019, if I recall correctly., was when they had a smack on the wrist regarding the ability to turn off the ABS. A shortcut would be nice, but I'm not willing to give up the ability to turn off the ABS to get it, not yet anyway :D
Heyy David, nice to see you, I was asking whether you'll be installing quickshifter on 390??
Hi, I've considered it several time and I might... but given that it has a slipper clutch you can already do clutchless gear changes both up and down, it's something that really only has benefit if you race on the track. Quickshifter really only co-ordinates the revs to the shift and you can do this yourself.

Have you tried putting the bike on dyno to see if there are any differences between ABS and Supermoto mode, in terms of power delivery? Rumours had it there are some differences, but im sceptical as it only switches of the rear ABS
I'm running a piggyback ECU so that will inhibit any mapping changes - and dyno are very expensive here, so no, at this point I'm not going to do that. Where is the evidence that it only switches off the rear ABS? The ABS unit is the same one as fitted to the 390 Adventure and the 690 SMCR - both of which modify the effect of the front ABS.
I have a duke 390 2020 which only has road or superduke (no off option). Do you know if there's anyway to turn off the front abs or have it turned off? I would love a way that isn't permanently disabling the abs
The ability to turn off the ABS was removed in the 2019 Duke to conform with road safety standards. There is no ability to turn off the front ABS seperatly, however if you put the bike into Supermoto mode, some, including me, believe that the ABS effect on the front wheel is reduced

When it comes to tyres there is no best - everyone has a favourite and someone else will tell you it's the worst tyre ever made. Going one size larger is all about looks, not performance, so go with whatever fits and is in your budget - any tyre from a main brand that fits this wheel will be good enough quality.
Hi david, can you help device a method to do so in the 250 duke. I find the ABS too sensitive for offroads.
Hi TJ, if you have the same dashboard then you should have a similar menu. Supermoto mode is very similar to offroad ABS in the 390 Adventure
I have the 2018 Duke 250 (india) which comes with old orange lcd dash and it comes sans the Abs off button
@@Tanuj_utube Ah, the old RC type dash. Your only option might be to manually turn it off by putting a switch on the power supply to the ABS unit.

KTM say the 2022 125 has it so I see no reason why yours wouldn't.

@@damienukz1880 I can't see your dash, so I can only suggest that you go through all the options carefully. I guess it's possible yours doesn't have it, but if the new bikes do then it may just be a software upgrade that the dealer can do.
When I do that on mine it says release but after I release it stays on road mode any Advice
Make sure you have actually selected Supermoto - I've had the same a few time and then wondered why it didn't change, only to realise I hadn't actually clicked on the down button first - the menus can be a little tricky to use at times.

@@M.R.B_ Time for the dealer. As I say, it can be tricky to select, I don't find the screens work quite as I expect them to, and I do miss selecting it. You will get the same press to hold and release even if you haven't selected Supermoto mode
The bike needs to be stopped to work.
Wish my 2019 duke 125 could do this, they removed it for some reason..
That is a shame, it used to be possible, don't see why they would remove it.
@@MotoMirius I think I'm gonna just wire a switch to the fuse, I've seen people do it on other bikes. Shouldn't be too hard!
@@callumboothroyd3766 Yes, that works. Actually I'm pretty sure the reason they removed it was compliance with regulations which insist on ABS being used and if you give people the ability to turn it off then...
On my 2021 it stays in SM mode even after you shut the bike off.

Hi. Two issues with that - 125 here has the same speedo as the 390. They don't sell the 200 or the 250 here and if they did, they would be fitted with the same speedo as the 390.
