    I absolutely agree with your review! I was an Apple Watch user but shifted to Fitbit Sense because I really wanted to focus on my physical and mental health. I love Apple Watch but as you said, it is just an extension of an Iphone. I needed more than that especially the sleep score and active zone minutes. Thanks for highlighting the differences - from your new subscriber! :)

      I did the opposite because the Fitbit has terrible heart rate accuracy for weight training, it flattens out all peaks. I do miss the social features though and there’s no sleep tracking which I got an Ours ring for.

    Another great video. Thank you very much.
    I have used both Fitbit and the Apple Watch. One difference for individuals that are blind or visually impaired is that the Fitbit does not have any accessibility features at all. The Apple Watch has voiceover built into the operating system so all information is spoken aloud. I have always liked my Fitbit. However, the customer service just isn’t there for blind and visually impaired users. Conversely, Apple has a dedicated team to assist with accessibility to apps. I do miss some of the features of my Fitbit. However, the frustration over trying to get customer service forced me into buying an Apple Watch.

    Great video. I agree on everything you said. I’ve always had a Fitbit, currently have the Fitbit versa 3 and I really like the app and the Watch. I find it doesn’t sync quite as well with my iPhone but mostly it is good. I’ve always liked the functionality of the Apple Watch as a smart watch, but never loved how many apps there are for it, like health and Watch and activity, where as the Fitbit just has Fitbit. That being said, I want to like the Apple Watch more but always end up coming back to Fitbit. I just bought the Apple Watch 7 and am hoping to like it more this time around, because all in all, I really do like the Apple Watch and Apple Pay and being able to respond to messages on my wrist. All the videos I’ve watched suggest that Apple Watch does a better job tracking Heart rate more accurately and gps takes way less time to connect. We’ll see! lol
    As far as the whoop tracker goes, I’ve never had any interest in that, as I do enjoy having a watch, but I’m sure it works for a lot of people.

    I like my current device, Fitbit Charge 4, this replaced my Samsung galaxy watch 4 which is sitting on my shelf collecting dust. The Samsung was simply too bulky, also had a wealth of screens, options which made it a bit clunky to get around for device features. I wanted a dumb down, slimmed down wrist device. For me Fitbit charge 4 is a near ideal solution. A nice slim design provides basic watch capabilities and great fitness logging, information. I also like the Fitbit app and the big benefit of a web-based portal so I can review information at my PC. For me, an old guy getting back into shape, it’s an ideal solution that bridges the gap between time device and fitness device.

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  2 роки тому

      Completely agree! I have the Charge 4 as well and I really liked it. I did not see a huge difference between it and the Sense I used in this test. Hopefully it came across this way in the video but I was speaking to Fitbit in general and not just the Sense. If I was going to recommend a Fitbit model that would work for most people, I would probably lean towards the Charge 4 as of right now. Love the Sense as well, but the Charge 4 is a better price point with close to as many features. Glad to hear it is working out so well for you!

    I just purchased the Fitbit Versa 3, and went on my first run with it last night. I bought it primarily because I like the built in GPS, and like being able to see the mapped out track I took on my phone. I like being able to see my heart rate easily, and the resolution on the screen is crisp, even while being out in the sun. With that being said, I am still trying to determine if I should keep it, or should I save $200+. it's a nice watch, and looks great, but kinda not sure if it's worth the money.

    I love my Fibit for sleep tracking and workouts, while I have a Galaxy Watch 4 as my daily smartwatch, where I have more limited tracking of health going on (such as steps, etc.). Unrelated, but get a spare charger for a smartwatch and keep it in your day bag. Fitbit can last for many days (if careful with GPS settings) so no worries there in getting it charged back up.

    Really good review! About the sleep tracking, I didn't understand why apple don't show the different sleep stages, but I read an article on why they don't go that way, it is just a different way to monitor and improve sleep. They focus con quantity and quality of sleep and not on cycles as they state that a person cannot modify the Rem or deep sleep times, but a person can sleep more hours and beging the sleep cycle more relaxed... just a different way than all the others , that is the apple way. I personally go for fitbit or Samsung offerings.

    I really enjoyed this video and how you matched each watch to certain lifestyles! Can you please give a bit more info about the life expectancy of the fitbit vs. apple watch? I always thought a Fitbit would suit me more even though I'm an apple fan, I always thought the apple watch would be a bit too distracting. I am a little concerned that you've gone through 6 - 7 watches already when fitbits only got popular/ mainstream for these capabilities in 2013/2014 from what I can remember. I value life expectancy over anything. On life expectancy alone would you recommend the Apple Watch or the Fitbit? I don't think they're that much different in price. If the apple watch lasts longer I wouldn't mind paying extra.
    sorry for the novel

    • @Learnwithtravis

      Thank you and glad to hear the format was helpful! To be clear, the reason I have had so many Fitbit models is because I buy them to test and review for this channel, not because I had issues. Sorry if I was not clear on that part. When I look over Amazon reviews, I do get the impression that Fitbit is more likely to have issues, but to be honest, outside of a couple specific issues, most my Fitbit trackers still work great. They have been pretty solid. It does "feel" like the iWatch is built a little stronger and meant to last, but overall they have both help up well. My wife uses her Apple Watch hard and still works great. Hope that helps and good luck with your decision!

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  2 роки тому +1

      Thanks Thomas! I believe you are going to get the same experience with just about any any Fitbit model when it comes to Peloton integration. The one major downside is that FitBit does not share HR information which I really like and the Apple Watch does do. Not a huge deal as you can always get a Scosche HRM and only wear it during rides. I have not played with this in a while but I could always share my Peloton rides to FitBit when I was done so that it would be logged with details in my FitBit history and I would get steps credit for the work. Hope that helps!

    I wear both the Whoop and Apple Watch series 6. Over the last six months, the Apple Watch has shown to be more accurate concerning the heart rate monitor part of it. I exercise 6 days a week and will dump the Whoop once the minimum subscription expires.
    Also my whoop last 3-4 days max.

      Funny as we have had pretty opposite results. I would say my Whoop has been more accurate as the Apple Watch has a tendency to jump around at times. Maybe fit? I guess it shows that everyone does not get the same results. Regardless, hope they are working out well for you!

      I’m in the camp where no tracker I tried tracks my heart rate accurately except the Polar H10 chest strap and the Apple Watch, I tried a few fitbits and Garmin, they work for cardio but not weight training and flatten out all the spikes. I suspect Whoop is similar.
      I am currently considering an inspire2 just for sleep tracking.

      The newest Apple watch made improvements on the health side so if you go that route I would go with the newest model. I have not tested that but it is worth taking a look at. Between Fitbit and Whoop, I would decide based on what metrics are more relevant to you and how you want to recognize your activity. Fitbit is more based on steps and movement where Whoop is based on heart rate and activity\impact on body and pairs that against quality of sleep.

    Hi, what is an inexpensive watch, that you recommend for weight lifting and sled work. I would need the watch to display the heart rate from the polar h10 on the watch itself. If possible a watch that is rugged enough to withstand some dings. I don't you any outside running. I may occasionally bike on weekends, but nothing serious. My budget is between 200-300USD. Thank you for your help.

      Sorry, I don't have a Polar H10 to test this out so I don't have any means to provide your answer. Good luck finding the right device for you thought!

      I really like how it focuses on exercise stress\overall activity instead of steps. For me, steps don't matter because I do other types or working out (climber, rowing, bikes, lifting). I think this does a better job capturing an actual picture of your day exercise load.

    do you think Whoop is more accurate for sleep tracking than Fitbit? Or is it more or less the same?

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  Рік тому +1

      This is so hard to answer because it provides great information but how do you they are more accurate than others. I have noticed each of my sleep trackers tends to provide different results leaving me questioning things. But in the case of Whoop, I talked to their support a bit and they were very engaged, constantly updating their algorithm to catch new things and provide better results. I did get a level of comfort with them but overall, so hard to say who is doing it best.

    I simply want a watch that will give me a good estimate of my calories burned. I run, walk, do a lot of yoga and pilates and work out videos (at home exercises), is there a specific watch you recommend?

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  Рік тому +1

      If you want the smart watch features to go with it, the Apple watch continues to improve. Otherwise, I would probably look into the Whoop. Fitbit can be good if you walk or run only, but if not, you are not getting "steps" for doing Pilates. Whoop does a better job calculating and understand your actual daily exercise instead of focusing on steps. With Whoop you get daily calorie burn, average HR, and a "Day Strain" score.

    Whoop not tracking steps is a deal breaker. The company is misguided in saying that's not relevant.

    • @Learnwithtravis
      @Learnwithtravis  2 роки тому

      I think that depends on your goals and how to prefer to track your fitness activity. I can see both sides as it depends on the person. FitBit generally does a very good job with this though.

      @@Learnwithtravis That's fair, but there's a cohort of folks heavily invested in fitness (bodybuilders and powerlifters as an example) that track steps. Large segment to exclude. While you could then wear two devices, not sure how many lifters would be willing to do that.

      I actually made a video about this and will link it, but here are some things that have really helped me out.
      1 - Hydrate, and by this I mean starting to drink a lot of water as soon as you wake up.
      2 - Eliminate all caffeine. Do this if you have not.
      3 - Do not eat 3 hours before your bed time. This makes a huge difference for me.
      4 - Take Jarrows SRT magnesium earlier in the day, every day.

    I feel like you haven't given Apple Watch the proper chance. Apple Watch, like iPhone, has become successful based on its third-party app quality. Their main app is easy to use and access for the general people as they have trust in the developers to make good apps. For sleep I'd reccomend AutoSleep and for Whoop like details (journaling has yet to be included), I'd recommend Athlytic and Chipr.
