Fascinating seeing Steve, the greatest snooker player, facing what was to become HIM in the future. Amazing how we used to rave on about Steve's legendary metronomic accuracy - which had accounted for all types of players, hurricanes and whirlwinds - but never saw a rocket coming. Love to know what was going through his mind watching Ronnie's effortless potting and ball control (Davis was supposed to be the guvnor in that area). i knew he won 6 Uks.
Think the poster has taken this info from Steve Davis Wiki page where it shows him as winner of four Uk ranking championships, his other two were not ranking events apparently. This is probably the posters source where of course a look at history of Uk championship will show him as six times winner of course

There's been a few good ones, Eddie Carlton, Hurricane (Alex) Higgins etc
Steve Davis seemed to bring another level of professionalism to the game though, much like Björn Borg did for tennis
Then Ronnie came along and he took the game to the next level, the discipline he has to play the percentage shots all the time has meant that for now he's been unbeatable

I just hated those players who took ages taking a shot even when the one they were about to make was obvious. It was infuriating. Really happy to see this game.

He did in that match. He was also on course for a 147 in another match, the 2016 Welsh Open. He deliberately played for the pink to make a 146. It was in protest of the 147 high break being almost nothing (10k). Suffice to say the crowd and Barry Hearne weren't that happy lol.
