The biggest youtubers I know of didn't start with even a quarter of this quality. I rarely subscribe to channels however this feels like an investment keep it up!!
Great video. Personally I would say the barnacles contributing to a lot of hydrodynamic drag on the whale would be parasitism in my book but I'm no biologist
@@pinpointwildlife7202 theres a theory that humpbacks specifically, use barnacles as essentially knuckledusters as they seem to make a lot of use of them defensively. They’re generally considered the most altruistic of whales and go out of their way to pick fights with predators and then there’s also male to male combat which again they use their flippers as clubs and can do a lot more damage thanks to the how sharp barnacles are. A few people have suggested they should be capable of removing them if they wanted to, comparatively few whales have barnacles and none in such quantities so perhaps it is a parasitic relationship on the part of the barnacle but humpbacks have found a way to make use of it.
