- Опубліковано 6 чер 2024
- The Ducati Multistrada 950 S is not just a good looking bike, but also a performer when it comes to riding it fast. We took it out for a ride to see what we like and what we dislike about it.
The Price: 16,172 euro, including the touring kit (sidecases, centre stand, heated grips) and Urban kit - topcase, tankbag, 12v socket

I have that model and all I can tell you is..... I love my motorcycle!
Good to watch a review from a man who understands bikes and can ride them well.
I appreciate that!
Got this bike a couple months ago. The Multistrada is freaking awesome. I tried the BMW 900XR I really wanted to like it until I rode the multi. This bike is alot of fun to ride. I rode for four hours in 90 degree heat today and the heat from the bike didn't bother me at all.
Great review. It is the first review I have seen where they try to see if a helmet fits in the panier. Thank you!
Great review.
Just bought one of these.
Amazing piece of kit.
Great work.☝️
I've had my 950 S for a year now and have been touring on it. It's fantastic. Not good in heavy city traffic and not good for filtering through heavy traffic because of the width of the handlebars, but then it wasn't made for that. The engine has good acceleration even with a pillion passenger and luggage. I've had it on the freeway in heavy rain and it offers good upper body protection. I do notice the engine heat at low speed or stopped. I don't really notice any adverse vibration. The servicing on these has improved a lot from old Ducati's though I imagine the valve timing service will hit the hip pocket when it gets to that mileage.
In Canada I had the 30000km maintenance quoted and its around 1500$+tx
Good clear review, you get to the point and do so precisely. Cheers!
Much appreciated!
Great review. Good work my friends. Greetings from Greece.
Great review, well done!
Thank you kindly!
Stunning bike. Only downside is wouldn’t go on major adventure tour on one due to lower number of dealers than say Honda, BMW. A work of art on wheels though 😀😀
Great review as always, I have a 2019 standard Africa Twin, I'm really intrigued by these skyhook suspensions. Would you say with the right settings you can get a smoother ride than on the Africa Twin on rough paved roads (which is still pretty good, but also fairly basic). Thanks!
Looking forward to seeing the comparison video with the f900xr.
Great coverage. What's your personal preference between multi 950s - tracer 9 - tiger 900 gt?
Yes, the comparison, multi vs XR!!!
Great review thanks
What town did you film it at? It looks very nice!
Nice review. Do you plan to review the Kawasaki Versys 1000 SE? thank you
A very real world powered - sweet handling machine 👍
I've never ridden an adventure bike, but this thing has me kind of intrigued...
Nice video shot from varied angles, I like. The same same beat music - no more of that please. Beautiful bike, I must say.
Thanks for the review! In a video you just did on the R1250Gs you said it was more fun on twisty roads than some sport bikes you had ridden the year prior. How does the R1250GS compare to the 950s Multi in the twisties?
That's funny. When shooting the review, we were discussing that the Multistrada 950 is reminding us of the R1250GS - it has, somehow, the same feeling and it's very nimble. However, the Multistrada feels more top-heavy than the GS due to the engine architecture and the high-mounted 20l fuel tank.
Ridden both and I pick 950s over gs infant I own 1. It’s more nimble and more fun. But for very long rides comfort level gs would win by a low margin. Both bikes are actually very similar my experience overall with both bike vary in small margins 1 is slightly better the other on some aspects and vice versa. If you prefer more fun quick and nimble 950s all the way. But if you want more gentle and more comfort and easy go for the gs.
@@bobbyuykim on urban mode the multi is "too much" confortable 😆 According to the driving modes, you have 4 different bikes, but always an Italian top model ! ✌
Pascal Jourdan even in urban mode gs would win in comfort not by much just slightly ahead. But agility and quickness 950s is ahead.
Please, please, please hurry up with your test and review between the Ducati Multistrada 950s and the BMW F900 XR.
I’m waiting on your review as it will determine which of these two bikes I’ll order. If you could test and also add the Triumph Tiger 900 GT, it would be amazing. I’ve been stuck between these three bikes for two months now. The all ride amazingly but which one will give the best value for daily commuting and touring through Europe frequently? Would also be good to know which is most convenient for someone like me who is moving from a 125cc.
Thanks for an amazing review, as always.
Great review once again, any chance that we will see shoot out between tracer, multistrada and bmw. One question, when you compare engine vibrations of bmw and ducati against Japanese motorcycles, which one is the winner? One more question, what can you tell about weight and size of ducati compared to competitors in it's class?
The Ducati seems to vibe more than the F900XR. But we have to ride them both again. Of course, the Japanese bikes are way smoother than the bikes made by Ducati, BMW and KTM, when it comes to vibrations. The Ducati feels top-heavy, even if it's not a heavy bike. We'll come up with a F900XR vs Multi 950 soon. We'll bring the Yamaha into discussion also.
Nice video! At 2:56 you mention that you'd like more wind protection in the knee area. I too would like an Adventure-Touring bike with good knee wind protection. Is there one that stands out for you? Would the V-Strom 1000/1050 be any good for this?
Didn't ride the the Strom 1050 yet. Usually, other bikes in the class seem to offer better weather protection in that area.
Well, thanks for the review. it really is educational. On my opinion this 950S is a better version. and do i smell something like a 3in1 comparative between the xr900, gt 900 and the multi? Good luck!
Thanks for watching! Not sure about a 3 in 1, but for sure it will be the F900XR vs multi
Nice video. At 7:12 it seems that you have an anamorphic lens on your camera?
I think it's just some grease, or smth on the lens.
I own 950S and all I can say is go for it! I made such a good choice!
Traded in my 1200 multi for the 950 got to say I prefer it
How so?
This is a very nice sport tourer. It has a lot of features for the money. Choosing between the MS 950 or the F900 or the Versys 1000 or the Tracer 900 might come down to your preference of engines.
ooooo, noot goood ;) it will be a hard decision
American Flyer Think of parts and servicing I have an Aprilia it’s hard to get parts quickly or at all, and servicing is a pain on a Ducati especially valve adjustments. Expensive where I live for sure!!!
Ducati's M40 Brembo brakes worth any of above mentioned bikes.
Tracer is trash compared to this Ms950S, It has nothing to do with this
@@Potty8 hi why did you say that, could u please open it up I am in between in these two models to decide
It would be helpful if you give your height, so other riders can estimate whether seat height and bar reach are good for them.
Hi I am in between tracer 900 gt and 950.. 2020 models have the same cost which one you would go with and why. 180cm 88 kg and I like twisties a lot :) Could u please advise thanks 🙏
Waiting on the review vs the bmw!
Tanks. Very informative, but - what about the passengers comfort?
It seems to be comfy enogh. Didn't take the passenger for a ride.
Nice & Thanks :)
I managed to take a F 900 XR for a quick test ride on the weekend. Loved it! Except for towards the end of my ride when I chucked it down a couple of gears to get round a tight bend at speed... In second gear at approx 6,000 RPM the vibrations were the worst I’ve felt through the foot pegs on any bike I’ve ever ridden. (Before that I’d been changing up around the 5k mark.) Have you experienced a similar phenomenon or your bike?
Hello. Yes, there are some vibrations over there. I think at the 7,000 mark. I wouldn't say it's the worst of all, but it's not very pleasant either..
DriveMag Riders thanks for the reply. I’m going to have to go for another test ride because I really liked the bike, I just don’t want to lose my toe nails from all the vibrations in the foot pegs at higher RPMs. 😱
Which is the rider experience for road use only, Triumph tiger 900 or this one?
Dude... you had the tank bag in your hands.... why did you not install it and give a bit of Show and Tell...
what happened to your right sleeve? Looks like you had a slide....
0:55 how long are you? 6'2" (188cm) if I remember correctly?
This bike looks too small for you. Al least for your legs...
Is it like V-Strom 1000? The V-strom also tend to have a short "foot peg-saddle" lenght.
Any news on your comparison review between the Ducati and the BMW F900XR?
It's on the list. But it has to wait a bit more. :(
Multistrada 950 vs bmw f900xr vs tracer 900 gt vs triumph tiger 900
Yeah, I would love this video as well but my feeling is: they would all win and it's a matter of taste. It's a great period for purchasing a reasonable trail.
ducati all the way if you need performance plus comfort but if you are a city commuter tiger is reliable
Nice!
The heated seat works best in the summer. Will it be still as fun seating on a furnace?
I have MTS 1200 and in the summer is ok, decently.
if you think Ducati's are hot you have to try the KTM signature thermal castration device
@@ostelll 2015 MTS/S here... anything over 30°c in city traffic, you'll be able to have your left thigh for dinner...
@@khakimzhanmiras KTM 'TCD' 🤣👍
I have a 950 S and have ridden it in 38 degree heat. Yes it's warm (on the left side, near the knee for some reason), but in single layer riding jeans and on the move I found it to be tolerable. When stopped, I just had to keep my leg away from the bike to avoid being roasted. But I've had that with other bikes too, not just Ducatis.
Heat? Try riding a Ducati Supersport in the city... that's heat. Your ass will be on fire. But frankly, any bike would be a dream up and down Brasov. Nice review! Good to see Ducati Romania stepping up with nice info. Good job guys!
I thought the "S" had spoked wheels?
how tall are you, mate?
Hello, how tall is you? I am 192cm and wonder how will suit to me. For you looks just perfect. Regards
What is price
Who decided this was a good soundtrack to start with 😳😳
Beautiful bike. How low can you drop the seat height since I'm 5'8. Get some boots with big heels. A 900SS was a great bike but the suspension and low bars gave you sore wrists, butt and back after about 4 hours - get through the twisties, recover at a Cafe and race home--Cafe Racer.
Anyone had experience with pillion for comfort?
Dude how tall are you?
how does it compare to the bmw 900 xr? - aha, video coming i see :)
blah blah the 950s is heavier and a bit more unwieldy in tight traffic, however it has way better suspension and deceptively decent off-road chops
@@khakimzhanmiras interesting - thank you Miras.
F900XR's suspension is not adjustable, it doesn't have the same power and rideability of 950s. It's build quality is very bad and an chinese made engine. F900XR is a cheap copy of 950. They even paint it red.
@@ampm9771 man, saying that BMW needs to copy Ducati is non-sense. And it's an Italian telling you. Two very different positioning. BMW wanted to tackle the Tracer head on and reach mass market, Ducati has no interest in that and aims to maintain its exclusivity, reflected in package and price. Let's stop with this "cheap" engine story, all OEMs manufacture parts in Asia since they need to keep an eye on profitability
The 950S has better suspensions but forget off road capability!!! I mean if you talk about reaching the restaurant through a gravel road ok, but not much more. I'd say also way better protection and comfort than the XR, although it comes with a weight. Nicer engine too. BUT I hope they include the Tracer 900GT in the comparison as you might get all the advantages of the M950S at lower price, lower weight and Yamaha reliability
Can someone recommend this as a starter bike. Am a complete noob. Zero experience.
Mileage per liter???????
i used about 2 months.General be good but handguards plastic not durable ,i will buy extra guard
Waiting for a 17 inch wheel road only ..........
Vibration? 😅 I have ridden this bike. It's Ducati's engine character my friend. Heat? again I have ridden it and felt no unusual heat.
The only downside would be the labour cost for valve check at 30000km.
This channel is so in BMW's pocket that they are so reluctant to give credit to any other bike other than BMW.
I own a 950 S and coming from a GSA 1200, the Multi is a bit vibey. At certain RPMs it does make my nether regions tingle!
tiger 900 rally pro or this ?
The Rally Pro is more suitable for off-road, the Multistrada is a street-oriented bike. The Rival from Triumph is the GT Pro. But we didn't ride it yet.
950 S or F900XR ?
Will come up with a review soon.
👍👍👍👍
I have it for a year and love it. Come check out my raw if you’d like to see it in action.
How tall you at... Man?
1,80 / 6ft
@@DriveMagRiders Got it! 👍
Vibrations coming in the seat and the tank area 🤔🤔😬
hands movement dont apply while you ridding ..grab the grips with both hands.
EN LA VERSION PASADA DE ESA MOTO,,, CUANDO PASABAS LOS 160 KMS/HR, SE MOVIA MUCHO EL MANILLAR, YO PIENSO QUE ES POR LA FALTA DE UN DAMPER, EL CUAL NO SE PORQUE DUCATI NO SE LO INTEGRA A SUS MOTOS (POR LO QUE TE CUESTAN... DEBERIAN DE).
NO LO NOTO MUY CONVENCIDO DE COMPRARSE UNA AL FINAL DEL VIDEO JAJAJA.
DUCATI = PROBLEMAS
god it sounds awful! I am going to test ride one of these tomorrow I hope it has a pipe on it
🙉alfalfa music 🙉
stopped watching because of all the annoying ad breaks!
Dislike number 3: Crappy exhaust sound.
Rather get the XR1000.thks.
I'd rather shit in my hands and clap than the BMW ;-)
Spoke rims are more expensive, lighter and better.
Too pity made in Italy..
Why would anybody buy a ducati street bike? The competitors are so much more refined and reliable. Even their sport bikes fall behind.
Suspension & V-twin growl. BMW's are far from reliable now.
Can you share some links that back up your affirmations? About reliability and why do you say their sport bikes fall behind?
PS1: not a ducati fan boy, never owned one, but lately i have read good things about them.
PS2: Not trying to be a dick here, i am honestly curious.
@@kovacsmihai7022 because they are italian v twins, their engines get real hot, seat is super thin and uncomfortable and the japanese makes perform the same if not better while having more reliability. Their supersports were the only selling point and now they are outclassed. Ducati is just a name.
haha competition like what Yamaha? Honda? Suzuki? Kawasaki? bikes that are covered with cheap plastic, shitty suspension, shitty brakes, Chinese engine, no electronics, no rider safety, and with ancient inline4? Yeah, why would anyone buy bikes from Ducati that are packed with premium parts and rider safety and at heart an engine that is gold.
The competition didn't know what naked bike, superbike and Motard is. You know why Japanese stick to their ancient inline4? because with anything else their bikes would fall like cheap chinese watch.
Personally I'd swat a Brembo M40 brakes of this 950s with any shitty Japanese bike with their shitty brakes, ugly styling and characterless inlines.
Japanese didn't even know how to build bike chassis, they had to buy moto guzzis back in 1960 and copy their chassis. 😅
Wtf?! Dude, I almost fell asleep watching this horrible review. Stop mumbling, speak up, and show some enthusiasm about the bike. You managed to make a Ducati review boring af. Congrats! Lol
