    The Yeti is very popular in my local trail, SB6, SB150, recently landed SB165. Not a very light bike for a carbon tho, but the climb is insanely great with that slack head angle...

    I demoed a Yeti SB 130 in July and it was fantastic bike. Light, racy and so quick down the mountain, I loved it. Now that there is a SB 140 with 27.5 i'm really leaning that way despite having a chance of getting a 2019 Evil Offering a really good price....shit I don't know! Kinda different bikes. Great vid though.

      Patrick Steinmark All 3 bikes you mentioned are freakin’ great. You probably already know but just in case, with Evil... make sure you can lower the dropper to where it fits you. Their frame design limits how low the post goes 🤙🏼

    I liked this bike a lot. Got to ride one last week. I thought it was the one until I rode the Intense Primer S. It’s a 29 front 27.5+ rear. Although I’m looking at the T1 spec with the Xt components, I’m still not sure if the Yeti is worth the price.

    • @MILTONATOR
      @MILTONATOR  5 років тому +2

      Justin Mcdonald I’ve yet to ride a mullet bike (hopefully soon). The cost of a Yeti is a hard pill to swallow, no doubt. But they do come with lifetime warranty and personally, the attention to detail on their frames and hardware is pretty impressive.

    • @justinmcdonald4356
      @justinmcdonald4356 5 років тому

      I agree it’s a great build and definitely a high quality bike, it’s a very popular brand here in Boise. It climbs so much better than my Kona Process 153. For me I really liked the Intense because it felt more like a trail/enduro bike in the chunky section but still was very playful in the flow. The SB 140 felt like a playful trail bike which isn’t a bad thing, it was still very fun to ride. I might just keep my Kona for the gnar and go with the Yeti for the flow

    • @MILTONATOR
      @MILTONATOR  3 роки тому +1

      They’re both great bikes. In my opinion, if playing with your bike means more than going faster, then the sb140 is the one to get. If race speed is priority without sacrificing much of the playfulness, the. Sb130. To answer your question, they both get up in the air pretty easily but the 140 feels much more lively

    Nice vid. How do you think the SB140 compares with your previous Commencals? I'm debating SB140 or the Meta TR and not sure if I want 29 or 27.5. Not really bothered about wheel size.

    • @MILTONATOR
      @MILTONATOR  4 роки тому +1

      Steve Harper obviously the biggest difference is weight, carbon vs aluminum. I felt the SB140 to be more fun-focused whereas the Meta is more race-focused. In terms of pedaling efficiency, Yeti takes the win but the Meta manages OK! Then there’s the price tags. If money is not an issue, SB140 for the win. But I think the TR can deliver just as much fun for much less $$$

    • @steveharper4017

      Thanks for the reply Milton. Useful info. As far as price point goes, I can get a top spec TR with factory sus and XT group for less than the entry level SB140. Any comments on the handling/turning? Did you find it maneuvered better than your Sentinel through the turns?

    • @MILTONATOR
      @MILTONATOR  5 років тому

      Michele Wacker Significantly more agile and more maneuverable than my Sentinel. And it makes sense. The sb140 is 27.5 vs 29 and 1 degree steeper headtube AND carbon as opposed to my Sentinel which is alloy. It is the agility and maneuverability of the sb140 that moved me to sell my Sentinel.
      It’s not a One is Better than the Other thing. They’re different. The sb140 is a trail ripper while the Sentinel is all mountain/enduro smasher.

      @@MILTONATOR Thank you! I have been watching videos on this bike like a 14 yr old boy watches porn. I'm going to demo a medium in a few weeks (when it arrives). If I can corner the medium (too big for me), I will order the small. I don't need or deserve this bike, but more importantly I don't care. It just needs to feel good (said that 14 yr old). Surprisingly, the gray is growing on me. Thanks again. Something about your video or the way it was shot that I really found helpful.

      @@MILTONATOR Finally got this bike in a small to demo in my area. Rode it at Santos (Ocala, FL) and loved it. Way lower and longer than my Trek. SB 140 is 3 degrees slacker in HTA and 4 degrees steeper in STA plus 2.5 inches longer in WB and reach. But it didn't feel foreign, it felt good. I made climbs on the Vortex trail much easier, solely due to the stability of the 140 on the climbs. I was able to hold my line without getting twitchy or light in the front AT ALL. I'm a bit worried about the low BBH/WB ratio, but if guys can ride this in a large, which is an even lower BBH/WB ratio than the small, then I know I can adjust. I had one pedal strike in a corner (we can pedal through corners on most Florida trails) and one bottom bracket/possibly chain ring strike going over a log. It also took some adjustment to make the switchbacks, but wasn't near as tough as I expected-- just a weird feeling because the rear wheel is doing it's own thing, taking an entire different line than the front wheel which gave me the feeling of riding sideways on switchbacks--my short Trek doesn't do that. The 2.6 tires slowed me down a bit but who cares, I will change those out and keep them for summer riding in New Hampshire. I'm deciding which build now and I'm getting this bike!

Seriously took away from the experience (but didn’t mention as I didn’t wanna unintentionally throw shade on the bike). I ride slightly bigger grips, so for me Medium would be my size. If you have the chance, go and demo an "Instinct" or "Instinct BC" or "Altitude" all in carbon versions, and if you want to be "brutal" have fun with the brandnew "Slayer" (just for testing)...
