As someone who has an extended family that was in the Guo Min Dang, and some of them eventually moved to Taiwan, I can say that 90% of the Chinese population love Mao. The 10% are either in Taiwan or left China for West. For people like my other half of family who were from the bottom, and if we lived under KMT, I would've never been able to have the chance to study abroad and my family would've been poor farmers for generations. The whole "Communism negatively impacted a lot of people" is not the case in China. Every country have people who are dissatisfied with their government, China is no exception. However, people outside of China has been giving these people such a high platform to voice their dissatisfaction, people really believed that CPC was killing people and Mao was eating kids. Obviously people who dislike their government would make it sound as bad as possible, I mean we have people in the US claiming Obama was a lizard man and eats kids.
