Everyone! I just discovered you can in fact export to 3D model in home pro versions you just have to go into the 3D view,(Orthographic view) then click file>export>export 3D model.
I would just export it as an STL File that is scaled properly to fit your 3D printer. When I was studying interior design in school, this was what we would do. I did a custom reception desk in Revit, exported it as an STL, set the scale at 1:24 (metric) which is about the same size as a model car, about 6-8 inches. however, for a house, I have no clue what scale would be best for doing a house maybe something like 1:50 or 1:100 ...depending on how many levels it has?. Send that STL File to the proper printer, and you should be good to go. Be sure to export the file just showing the exterior elements, basically just the shell.
Does anyone know how to transfer Chief Architect files into Mozaik to edit for cutting and layout? If so please let me know, any help would be greatly appreciated!
Hey guy. You did a mistake changing the roof thickness. You just need to change the camera clip near/far distance. This is used to free memory changing the precision of the model in far distance. You can fix tree changing the material to use png transparency of your tree texture.
Has any of the export capability changed with the latest version of CA? In terms of lights, cameras, or anything else that doesn't come across when exporting to Max mentioned here? I'm ultimately interested in getting the exports into Blender and Unreal, probably through 3DS max if that is now the best export method. Thanks
Hello, thank you for the video Does anyone have a solution to regularize normals and faces after importing into 3dmax software? Due to the excessive confusion of the structure of the objects in certain projects that have inlay work or the object has an arch. The material is not placed correctly on the object

all this are not working for me. if I go to export, there is nothing like COLLADA there. I think chief wants me to pay money before I can export. I am using X5 and 8GB
Hello bestyentertainment! I'm not familiar with Twinmotion; however, Chief Architect offers many built-in rendering techniques that produce real-time results, and we also support the export of .DAE and .VRML 3D file formats that allow you to take your model to the rendering platform of your choice.
good video. I use chief architect x5 I am trying to export to 3ds Max, but I can't see the extension called colado how do I solve this problem please thank you
saved my life! I did that mistake of exporting from the floor plan lol

Thank You for the video. A video on 3d printing a model would be very helpful and is on my “wish list” 😉
Okay, great. Thank you for the suggestion! We'll see what we can do.

Great! This was one of my questions to CA. At least I know I can create, export and have it rendered on one of the professional packages

Hello Bestyentertainment. Unfortunately, with Chief Architect X5, the only 3D model options that were supported for exporting were .DWG and .3DS.
When I open the file in 3ds max none of the textures aren't there like in the video. Anyone have an idea why this is?
Hello Yokopo. You can go to the Library menu and there should be an option to " Install Core Content" & "Update Library Catalogs" I hope this helps.

I'm using chief architect X5 . I can not see this Collada in my export option. Collada is not there
