This stuff is invaluable!!! I've been playing for 15 years. I quit drinking 3 years ago and when I cleaned up I realized I had very little clue as to what I was doing outside keeping a tight rhythm and playing small fills, so I quit playing altogether. I recently picked up the guitar again and I'm determined to learn the instrument correctly this time so it all makes sense and I can technically let music play itself. The feeling I had is that something was missing which connected all the pieces together so it could flow. Stumbling across these tutorials is a blessing. I have to say I'm impressed with your professionalism and ability to break this information down in a manner that is easily digestible. I'm excited to learn music theory and technical applications, excited to play again. NOW if I can just work around all these bad habits I developed the first time around :D Thanks Steve!!

There's no sharp/flat between b/c or e/f so take that into account, your losing a half step between those 2 sets of notes/chords that you have between all the others. Hope that helps.

This was my last attempt (tried seriously 3 times before) at 'getting it' before giving up. Not only do I have it now, I can't believe how simple it is. That's entirely due to the way it was explained and Steve's delivery. He's enthusiastic and not condescending as he sticks to the simplest way of explaining things without veering off onto any tangents that would complicate things. I honestly can't say this enough - but thank you Steve. I am SO stoked I finally got it after all this time!

Steve, you absolutely rock! I'm a classic rock cover solo who's been gigging since I was young and thin - 42 years. Being mostly self taught, I never learned the theory behind what I was playing. But you changed that amigo! I have learned more about theory in the last week than I have my entire performing life! You connected so many dots for me a can't even tell you. I had no idea had much I didn't, OR how much I knew but didn't know I knew it!! You've made me a better musician and, as I move from the cover scene to the original music arena, 'you've already improved me songwriting. Amazing. You're a fantastic teacher. First video of Steves I ever watch a year plus and at least 6 coures later, cant see working with anyone else, Not sayaing there arent any other good instructors but with Steve i get it, the breakdown follows a logical order with just the depth needed for a subject that i understand the concept enough to apply and use. in a past life i was an instructor, course design instructor and test administrator / proctor for Dept of the Army, I dont remember ever seeing or working with any instructors that focus not only on the subject but also the learners capabilities, directions and influences Thanks Steve youre an excellent teacher and motivator.

Steve, singular work my friend. Been playing for over 30 years and never took time to learn the theory. Now I'm knitting it all together of why I play all the scales and notes I've been playing for blues etc all these years. A huge, huge help and it's moving me forward from where I've been stuck for years. Thank you sir.

This is excellent. I have had issues remembering how to figure out the notes in a scale, and this took away all of the smoke and mirrors that i always thought were there.
    Great,Great, Great.

I've never come across a channel/teacher that lays it out so simply. I'm a long time player (by ear) but I wanted to learn theory because I know it will make me even better, and I stumbled across your channel and I'm hooked! Everything you say is so easy to understand! Thank you so much!!! 🤘

Just wanted to mention that I have found your teaching one of the best. You have an ability to articulate the 'technical into non technical terms. you choose your words with the way Knofler or Gilmore would choose a note. Also the tempo in your teaching makes perfect sense. Non threatening but extremely powerful and effective. I am now on my way.
    Thanks, Steve!
