Itemization was the biggest problem, bar none. At 2800 hours played, I now flipped to recommend the game. Map selection is not even close to being important to me. Would be nice to have, but I don't care that much.
I've thought about it a bit, and playing monstrous specialist all the time, would be nice, so I'm upgrading it in importance to: Would like soon, at least for modifiers. Maps are all the same to me, I would just like to not play the same map multiple times in a row.
Yet with the itemization update came the unending torment of menu gameplay. They could have made it so much simpler but had to go over the top of course so I can spend my already limited time for gaming on clicking shit in UI, good times. So whatever, Space Marine 2 is here and this waiting room can be shelved.
@@stefanbatory4488 I mean if you want to compare third person gears of war to first person left for dead, then go for it. The only thing these games share in common is the setting.

I love the new hammer. Feels way better than before. Still end up taking hits in hordes though so may have to do a couple of skill points into toughness back on hits…..or get some real skills and just don’t get hit

THAT would be really cool Edit: oh maybe to nerf the thunder hammer bosses should have like a 20-30% damage resistance to it or something like that. Also want a 2 handed charge up weapon for the ogryn
Auric = Always high intensity (much more enemies, much more elite/specialists). Maelstrom = special modifiers (only one faction, specialists can turn into monstrosities, melee only etc). Both can be combined for some bonkers gameplay like "1000 lesser enemies and 500 Bulwarks and Crushers" or "Sniper Spam, Specialists can turn into monstrosities, waves of Mutants".

There's worse. They removed a wall in the section just forward and left of that corner but haven't updated sound propagation so it still eats sound as if a wall was there.

EDIT: Nevermind I found the marks tab and what it does. I've got no complaints. If anything the biggest issue right now (and its a small one) is that if you want a specific weapon mark for a buiid, you gotta either buy it from the normal shop, get it from Melk's, or get it from a drop because Brunt's Armory now only lets you get one mark type and that's it.
It isn't overpowered. Axes/Swords will still perform far better against anything other than a monstrosity. THammer just doesn't suck any more, and properly fills its niche.
TH has clear shortcomings against non-carapace, non-monstrosity foes. Even with the severely reduced selfstun you still do get a self-stun and this makes dueling rager packs very dicey. Hordeclear is satisfying now (as opposed to actually depressing) but compared to things like axes, evis, heavysword it's still nowhere close (and it shouldn't be, as a dedicated large-target weapon). It's finnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnne, leave it as is. Reminder that telopot has one hundred thousand hours in Darktide and can make even suboptimal choices look amazing in their worst situation.
Why momentum instead of piety? And please no "it's cringe" response. I want to hear mechanical reasons why you think momentum works better than piety for this weapon
Momentum works better with the t-hammer than piety because piety will come into factor much less than momentum, with the way you move, dodge, and utilize the hammer. Not to mention, no blessings on the t-hammer really help it delve deeper into the crit chance tree. For instance, with the evis, knife, devil claw, and duel sword I can get upwards of an 80%+, sometimes 95%, crit chance and actually utilize piety and the damage that comes from multiple critical hits. You won't get that with the t-hammer as you're only doing crit hits really when piety activates, and even then you're getting maybe up to 30% crit chance. Just not worth it compared to momentum, which will almost always come into play with a hammer build Source: Over 1500 hours played, mulitple UI mods and time spent in psykanium
What the point of piety for a weapon with no innate crit chance and low attack speed? It also doesn't have very high finesse for crits and momentum has hidden buffs to dodges which is nice with hammers so either momentum or martyrdom is better for them.
Piety is 25% Crit chance. Critical damage(difference between normal hit and critical) is somewhere in the 190(unarmored)-80(carapace)range so 25% of that is 47-20 effective damage increase. Momentum is 15% damage and body hits range from 309-133 which is 46-19 effective damage. If you mostly hit weakspots then Momentum will pull ahead since the difference between a critical hit and a critical weakspot is smaller than the difference between a body hit and a critical body hit. Also doesn't take into account the attack speed increase, the fact that critical hit is diminishing returns, that Zealot has a crit on demand button, the various difficulties of keeping both Keystones at 100% or any of the crit triggers from the zealot tree.
