@Anime Girl Why is everything so white and black to you? That’s not the way the world works. It’s been proven time and time again that human sexuality exists on a spectrum, 100% straight and 100% gay people are actually the least common.
benedict is 100% bi, and I love sophies and his story. So maybe next season before they introduce Sophie (if they do) they can have him hook up with a guy next season or it can turn into something, for benedict to have a romantic interested next season (and we can have a forbidden love troupe next season)
What if for the series they switched Sophie for a guy? Like Cinderella but make it gay! Instead of Benedict and sophia, it’s Benedict and Solomon or something.
@@richardchiren2425 it would not work. Remember it’s the 1800s. In the show, women are cast aside in society from not marrying young enough. For Benedict, the second son of a higher class family to openly be gay is probably considered social suicide by 1800s standards. Hopefully they’ll explore it, like he has a secret relationship/hookup (would be interesting) but ultimately it’s not gonna work. Plus the book lovers will riot
I totally love the art guy. I hope we see more of him next season and hope we get to see him train Benedict in matters of the arts! Maybe with his lovely wife too haha! In the third book An Offer from a Gentleman, which is probably the third season, Benedict falls in love and marries Sophie, and he is never shown with a fluid sexuality, it’s something completely invented by the writers of the series, like many other things.
Bad show Netflix, to show this clip in the 1st ever ad for the show 'queerbaiting' at it's worse - I guess raking in $$$ from us on lies and pretence is what big business is best at.... unless S2 get serious with LGBTQI storyline, for me, don't bother with any more seasons... Ill head back to How to get away with Murder or even, if pushed Spartacus...
@@procrastinationblues True but I am kind of hoping that if they do try to make the series more LQBTQIA+ friendly, maybe the writers have it be an open marriage or maybe Benedict and Sophie are poly. I haven't read the books; I don't know what the story for them entails but, if you're going to bring in the whole Libertine art parties, actually do something with it and not just bait with them. What if Sophie is a model at one of the parties or what if they both participate? I don't know, again, haven't read the books but I hope that if they have already started with the diversified cast, maybe change up the character's sexual orientation as well. I hate when book to screen adaptations only go halfway with things. Obviously Benedict had chemistry with another man, lean into it or why bother having it in the first place.
@Anime Girl I’m not saying that they HAVE to make it LGBTQIA+ friendly as far as romance. The series is a heterosexual romance and that’s fine. I agree with Procrastinationblues as far as the queer baiting. Benedict had a ton of chemistry with Henry. I gave my thoughts on if they opened up his sexuality while still keeping his romantic interest from the book. If they don’t change the characters sexual orientation, that’s fine. I would hope that the writers don’t write away Henry or have Benedict act weird or aggressively towards him. I would hope that while the Main Characters may not be gay, lesbian, asexual, etc., that those who have been written as such are at least treated positively. Benedict and Henry may not be romantic partners but at least keep them as friends and Benedict be comfortable with Henry’s sexuality, whatever that may be.

hi! i can't speak for the video creator, but personally i was disappointed because the initial trailer included a shot of two men having sex (the scene with granville and the other guy at the party) which implied that there'd be a gay subplot, then that turned out to be the only gay content in the actual show; plus it really seemed like they were setting up a romance between granville and benedict and that never happened which like, what exactly was the point of that whole storyline then? "rich boy learns gay people exist"? it was badly written and boring imo
@@fionnualaz perhaps they wanted to show how Benedict discovered a new world. Where people are free to explore their sexuality, a world without concealment or the conservative gaze of the time. That is why Eloise is also portrayed as her closest sister since she also wants to have a life different from what society expected ... she wants to study and see the world, and not just be a wife and mother. I also felt that homosexual vibe, and I even thought that Benedict was, but no, at most maybe he is bisexual. Sorry for my English, it's not my first language.
@@anaguerra217 yeah i understand you! but i think that story would have been more interesting if they'd made him bisexual. really my issue is mainly with the trailer i mentioned, it was very misleading 😂 i probably wouldn't have bothered watching the show if i'd known it was mostly just about a straight romance
@@fionnualaz The series won't get rid of Sophie (Benedict's romantic match) because I guess its a well loved character and they are a well loved relationship but maybe open it up. Have her participate at the parties too; she could be accepting of him being bisexual, she could be bisexual herself. They could really go for portraying a sex positive couple; make them polyamorous. How cool would it be to have Benedict and Sophie create an Art Salon in their home by day and by night its a Regency Sex Club? I have not read the books but if Netflix is going to go fast and loose with the source material (I do not mean the openly diverse casting; outside of that, they have made lots of changes from the books), go all out. I would appreciate (don't know if this is true in the novels but maybe for the series) that the female leads in future seasons are aware of sex, procreation and pleasure. I can kind of understand the first book and the mom being very romantic about the subject but maybe have future leads be in control of their own orgasm. How about Daphne educate Eloise and her other sisters on what happens in the bedroom because the mother is no help at all. It would it be amazing to have a scene where Eloise "explores her femininity" and go "Huh, so that's what happens. I don't NEED a man for that bit after all."
If they're not gonna follow the original story then I'd rather not watch the series at all. They better not name the series after the book as well, it's disrespectful for the author.
I might die if I ever have to see one more regurgitated hetero romance which is a much more likely occurrence but unlike you I know how to avert my eyes
Don't care what vibes Shonda is putting in series to make him look gay or b, but in the books Benedict is very much heterosexual and very Mr.Darcy. In book 3 he falls madly in love with Sophie and they have a very hot love story...

In the third book An Offer from a Gentleman, which is probably the third season, Benedict falls in love and marries Sophie, and he is never shown with a fluid sexuality, it’s something completely invented by the writers of the series, like many other things.
I'm sorry for you but in season 3 Shopie Beckett is coming ✌🏼😘
Bruh I wonder if they will chnage her race like they did with Simon ....
Ill head back to How to get away with Murder or even, if pushed Spartacus...
ok, just found this clip, how to do it right - ua-cam.com/video/T_r8ny_d6bU/v-deo.html
been years since I saw this,so time to get the dvd out....
Which episode is 0:51
Next season they totally get together
Nah, Benedict and Sophie for life.
Benedict and Sophie sound super cute! I'm not against them getting together I just have an issue with the show queerbaiting
@@eventingirl001 Hey thanks for this, I would also love it if they made the show more LGBTQIA+ and hopefully have a main character be LGBTIA+. Also just so you know Anime Girl is a homophobic troll that's been replying to a bunch of threads. I hid her user from this channel so she won't be able to comment anymore.
@@procrastinationblues Not a problem! Happy for someone to disagree with me and discuss it in an adult manner but she was just being a troll. Love this video and excited to see what the writers do in future seasons. I hope Netflix continues to create more romance series. Quite an untapped market and there are some great series that deserve to be brought to life.
A reason to watch bridgerton
100 % bi icon
Is that Julian Ovenden?
Yes
Benedict Bridgerton is not a gay. Wait until you meet Sophie.
he could be bi
And yet another incomplete half baked gay romance. Get a grip, Netflix and world. 😑
Yo quiero que sean pareja 🥰😏
canon bi benedict 🎉🎉🎉
aaah i need the episode
I saw them together for one episode and like come on
What's the name the vidio
Why are you dissapointed about the lack of gay romance?
hi! i can't speak for the video creator, but personally i was disappointed because the initial trailer included a shot of two men having sex (the scene with granville and the other guy at the party) which implied that there'd be a gay subplot, then that turned out to be the only gay content in the actual show; plus it really seemed like they were setting up a romance between granville and benedict and that never happened which like, what exactly was the point of that whole storyline then?
@fionnuala Thanks for replying for me! I really agree with this
@@fionnualaz The series won't get rid of Sophie (Benedict's romantic match) because I guess its a well loved character and they are a well loved relationship but maybe open it up.
On one hand I ship it but on other hand I really want sophie and him to get together so...
I hope they stick with the books.
I KNEW IT!!!
Please don’t let Benedict be gay because I WILL DIE if his story with Sophie isn’t told in the series 😭😭😭
I might die if I ever have to see one more regurgitated hetero romance which is a much more likely occurrence but unlike you I know how to avert my eyes
Well now
Thats what I thought
Sorry to disappoint you guys but he is 100% straight.
No gay parts in the books
Don't care what vibes Shonda is putting in series to make him look gay or b, but in the books Benedict is very much heterosexual and very Mr.Darcy. In book 3 he falls madly in love with Sophie and they have a very hot love story...
Ay qué feo. Ojalá y luche contra eso😢. Yo no quiero que también metan esas ideas en la serie 😢.
Si empiezan con eso de geyks ya no la voy a ver😢.
Benedict is NOT BI, he's just seeing another side of society he's never seen before that offers more liberty for a person to be whatever they are or wish to be, and he wants to be an artist - but high class he's a part of doesn't like free spirits so he has to hide that side of him - the ARTISTIC side, not gay or bi side...
QUEREMOS A SHOPIE 💖🙏
He clearly ain’t gay, he is defo gonna be a Libertine, pretty common over here in France and was even more common before and during the revolution (Marquis de Sade), their philosophy ain’t romance, it’s basically « a hole is a hole » wham bham Afghanistan
