After half a sea day we dock in Helsinki in the afternoon. In the evening we go for a short walk around the city. The next day we do the full Helsinki package. Early in the morning we take the shuttle bus into the city. We start in the market hall, where we of course - despite the time - have to try the super delicious salmon tartare that smiles at us from the display. We continue with a walk around the harbor to the Uspenski Cathedral, which towers over the harbor and whose golden domes flash in the sunshine. From there we pass the Knight's House to Senate Square and Helsinki Cathedral, built to designs by Berlin architect Carl Ludwig Engel beginning in 1818.
Afterwards, we need lunch and treat ourselves to a fish plate and salmon soup at the Kauppatori marketplace directly at the harbor. Afterwards we explore the Esplanadi Park between the promenades Pohjoisesplanadi and Eteläesplanadi before we go on a 1 1/2 hour harbor and archipelago cruise. The excursion boat takes us past the fortress island of Suomenlinna and the Finnish icebreaker fleet, which is mothballed here during the summer.
After the ship tour we will of course have a Vika - a typical Scandinavian coffee break with a cinnamon bun before we say goodbye to Helsinki and are brought back to Mein Schiff 6 by shuttle bus.
This video belongs to the tour "Baltic Sea with Helsinki", on which we have been traveling with Mein Schiff 6 in July 2023. The trip goes from Kiel via Gdansk, Klaipėda, Visby, Riga, Helsinki, Tallinn and Stockholm back to Kiel. A really great tour.

Moin... In Helsinki haben wir alles auf eigene Faust gemacht. Es gibt ein Shuttle, der zwischen dem Kreuzfahrtterminal und der Innenstadt pendelt. Den haben wir genutzt (kostenpflichtig), aber den Rest haben wir individuell unternommen. Auch die Bootstour haben wir spontan vor Ort gebucht.
