I bought the M&P 2.0 10mm with a 4.625 inch barrel and no safety lever. Got it quad ported by Mag-Na-Port and installed a HEAVY over size tungsten guide rod from Carver Custom using a supplied 17 pound recoil spring non captured. X/S tritium optic height steel sights with a 508T Holosun red dot on an aluminum base mounting plate. Used blue loc-tite on the stainless steel screws. Apex flat black aluminum safety trigger and more. I love mine.
I have the non optics version with the curved trigger & loaded chamber indicator. Added an extended slide stop/relase & Ameriglow night sights & i have shot the shit out of it! What a no nonsense duty pistol!!
Been carrying an M&P on duty since 2018. Prior to that I carried the S&W 4006 TSW. Two different platforms giving me the same results. M&P’s are amazing firearms. I prefer them over Glocks for several reasons: metal sights, magazines and guide rod, better grip angle and trigger. They just came out with the comped series. Initial reviews are all positive. S&W continues to innovate.
I have an older M&P9 2.0 FDE 5" with the ambi safeties & no optics cut. It is a bit big for concealed carry, bit it rides nicely in my GTW bag. I also bought a M&P9 FPC that came with one 18 round & two 24 round magazines that also fit the 5" M&P9.
You know I was waiting for this one!! Didn't know that you could take the safety out until you told me. I wanted the black one but might have to grab this one for my dime bag build
I bought the full size model that came with the threaded barrel, optics ready with suppressor height sights. I've had ut for about 4 months and haven't shot it yet. If it's anywhere near as good as my gen1 I suppose it will be solid.
@@mattnikirobidou I did that and posted on my Instagram and then found someone who wanted to trade so we traded. 🤷🏼♂️ that's how it goes some times. But thank you the echelon is one of my faves.

No ports or comps for me. Don’t want to lose an eye in CQE nor want the extra failure points. Can’t wait to receive. Tired of the Glock angle.
I'm a Glock fan.I started with them before the M&Ps were made. My son has several M&Ps. The M&Ps are a very under rated pistol. I have several (12) Glocks, almost a hundred mags and spare parts. If I started from zero I would go with the M&Ps. They are well made, they have the optional thumb safety and come with descent sights. My son has one with over 50k through it. He has replaced the recoil spring several times and an extractor. They hold up as well, maybe better, than a Glock.
@@Rich-eg6qb wow that's awesome stuff to hear. Thanks for watching and sharing. It's great when fathers and sons can grow and share in a hobby with different ways to still be successful
THe new M&P trigger is excellent Its a waste of money to replace it. Smooth, good reset length and feel. I actually like my 2/0 with the new trigger over the one with the apex. they did cheap out on the optic plates. I have shot all kinds of guns, carried a glock on duty for years. Ill take my 2.0 over any of them.
Been shooting 5" M2.0s since 2018 in competition with optics and think that they are awesome. X5 Legions and Shadow 2s are slightly more forgiving and fast to shoot, but I just like the Smith more.

Good video. I shot and primarily carried Glocks for years before trying out DA/SA with CZ and then Beretta. All great, but I kept going back to the Glock which, after decades of running, I was more proficient with. In October of last year I began to transition to M&Ps which, for me personally, seem to be the best fit. So much of this is personal preference--there are many great guns out there and what you practice with the most is probably what you'll do the best with. But I think the M&P is criminally underrated. I still sometimes run my Langdon HKP30 LEMs or my Glocks, but more often than not I'm running an M&P. Once you get an Apex in there it is hard to beat--especially at the price point. Decent aftermarket, proven reputation, and, in my opinion, better ergos, steel mags, and better grip texture than a Glock. I don't tinker with mine much--I just Apex them and mill the slide for an optic. I've got the 4 and 4.25 configurations, as well as one of the 3.6 configurations (the one that has a shorter grip and is close to the G26 in size), but I'm looking at adding the 5 inch. It will be my IDPA gun this next season. Toying with getting the 3.6 ported by Floyds.
