I'm definitely joining your readalong! So many new books to discover! Side note from a Russian native speaker: it's BulgAkov, not BUlgakov. The accent falls on "a", not on "u"
I might join you for some of these but I'm a very slow reader. I love The House on The Strand. I read it about 10 years ago. Sarah is right with the pronunciation of Waugh. It's one of my Dad's favourite books.
This is a fantastic list and will be definitely joining in with some , as a-lot here i have already read . Big up the Bronte will be my first Ann Bronte and have recently purchased this as well so looking forward to this . You are in for a treat with Master and Margarita - I have several translations , including the Penguin Deluxe . Enjoy x
I am so happy that I stumbled across your channel. Hello from Sydney Australia 🇦🇺. Two things I absolutely love... books ... especially classic books and tea.
This is such a great idea, I'm really excited about this readathon! And I love the books that you have selected. At first I wasn't too excited about the first few books but then I realised that this was a wonderful opportunity to broaden my literary horizons, so I'm joining from the letter A. I've also read three books from your list (The Master and Margarita, The Great Gatsby and Slaughterhouse 5) but I would love to re-read all of them, so I'm looking forward to that too.
Funny you should say that as that’s exactly what we’ve tried to do for ourselves! Some titles we’re really excited about and others not so much but hoping those ones will get us out of our comfort zones! Glad you’ll be joining!
So many of these I bought in the past 2 years with the intention to read soon-and this is definitely the kickstart to help me do that! Can’t wait to start-this sounds so much fun!
Very exciting! I might join in with some of the books cause I'm afraid I won't be able to read them all :D But I have already read 2 books of your list: The Master and Margarita by Bulgakov and Lolita by Nabokov.
This sounds so fun! I’m in😊. The only book I won’t be reading is Lolita. I hated that one, and have been trying to forget it ever since I read it ten years ago. Thank you for doing this girls🥰.
This is SO exciting! I'm definitely going to join in for some! And you guys are correct with a lot of the movie info here: A Single Man starring Colin Firth. Revolutionary Road starring Leo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet. I'm American so idk how helpful this is but I say Waugh more like Sarah, like I'm about to say "water" but ignore the -ter. btw, I LOVE Brideshead Revisited! I read it in 2020 and thought it was just good, like a solid 3/5 stars, but then I KEPT THINKING ABOUT IT! It ended up having such an impact on me and I've come to really appreciate and respect the story and direction it takes with things, which I was initially disappointed by a little bit when I had read it. Like, it's one of my all-time favorite books, now! AND it's been recently adapted into a new miniseries (there's already a miniseries from 1981 and a film from 2008) that should be coming out this year. It's directed and written by Luca Guadagnino who is most known for Call Me By Your Name and it's starring Andrew Garfield, Joe Alwyn, Rooney Mara, Cate Blanchett, and Ralph Fiennes. I just bought Decline & Fall by Waugh, so I'm hoping to get to that this year and reread Brideshead before the new adaptation comes out, even if it ends up getting pushed back. Things are so up in the air with release dates nowadays. Also, I read Tess of the D'Urbervilles last year and it was one of my favorites I read in 2021!!
Yay! This sounds like fun! I do own (and haven't read) many of these, so I'll definitely join for those! And for some authors, I do own others books by them so I might read one I have already, I'll see :) But excited about this readalong!
Ahhh Atwood for A! She’s my favorite author and Alias Grace is one of my faves of hers. Also I love that you mentioned Oryx and Crake…not many people talk about it. It’s actually the first book of a trilogy and I’m reading the second book currently - The Year of the Flood.
So excited for this thank you! Love the selection, got ones on my shelves and ones I've wanted to get round to! Most excited for Frankenstein cause I've been waiting for the "right" time to read it for years haha, and Steinbeck (obvs I did mice and men too and didn't really enjoy it as a teen who only read YA haha so interested to see what I'll think of him, plus I've been wanting to read a multi-generational (I think it is?) epic), and Zelda! Fitz is my fave author and I heard the rumours he took her ideas or whatever but always thought it was diaries, so looking forward to that one too, and so many others:)
Wonderful idea! I am joining in! Great selection!!! From the books chosen, Frankenstein is the one I enjoy the least. Maybe this time I change my opinion.
Oh yes, Revolutionary Road (the movie) broke me... I couldn't stop crying for a few hours after watching it. I wanted to read the book ever since, but never came round to it, so I'm really glad that it's on the list.
I can’t wait for you to read Don Quixote, this is so funny hahaha. Also the complete name of the author is Miguel de Cervantes This is a really great idea with a lot of planning, which i love doing. Some of this books are in my reading list so I will partially join
X: Xantippe and Other Verse by Amy Levy They said it couldn’t be done, but I did it! I found a classic book for “X”! It’s perhaps not as well known as the others on this list, it’s barely in circulation, and technically Xantippe is a poetry collection, but it counts! The title poem, Xantippe, is an imagined monologue from Socrates’ wife as she lay on her death bed. It’s the star of the show, and well worth checking out for that reason alone…
In your list, you forgot the letter U and the corresponding book. In your video, you mentioned the book “Underground”, but it didn’t make it to your list. I was going crazy trying to figure out why I only counted 25 books on your list, instead of 26. 😂
Ooh my bad - thanks for catching, I’ve added it in now - Underground by Haruki Murakami! We did consider Ulysses but as we’re reading another Joyce earlier on decided to go for something different!
@@BooksAtMidnight Having read Ulysses, I'm actually glad that it's not on the list. It's a complex book and I feel like a month wouldn't be enough for it. It's doable of course, but I wouldn't rush with it to do it proper justice.
You mentioned so many books I happend to have on my tbr for years...I guess there is no excuse anymore:)
Aww how perfect!
Oh ! Slaughterhouse 5 is absolutely amazing , funny and completely bonkers ! A truly wonderful book one of my favourites
I'm definitely joining your readalong! So many new books to discover!
Side note from a Russian native speaker: it's BulgAkov, not BUlgakov. The accent falls on "a", not on "u"
Ooh thanks for the tip!

Excited for this!! I’d love to see a reaction vid for Little Women haha That’s one of my favorite films ever ✨
It’s one of my faves too - can’t wait to rewatch!
Oh I'm so pleased you have chosen a play. This is an amazing challenge and I hope I can join you, who knows what the next 2 years brings!! 😆
Very exciting! I might join in with some of the books cause I'm afraid I won't be able to read them all :D But I have already read 2 books of your list: The Master and Margarita by Bulgakov and Lolita by Nabokov.
Great 😁 i planned to read some of those classics this year. That's perfect timing 👍 your videos are so relaxing. Lots of love from Belgium
Joining in!!!
Very excited! I think I’ll join in for a couple of these :)
Robert Louis Stevenson also wrote my absolute childhood love ‘A Child’s Garden of Verses’ that are so beautiful to read to children.
No Dracula? :( I am excited for this cause there is a ton that I have not even heard of. I’ll have to print the schedule.
This kind of challenge is definitely something I would love to join! GREAT idea
aww that’s a great idea to still get involved in all of the reads!
Love the idea! I'll be joining for sure.
So glad!!
Oh I love the both of you! And be definitely joining in some of these great books! Greetings from Berlin 📚
So glad you’ll be joining!

Aww thank you so much!
So fun !!! Though I wish Z was for Zola !!!!
Ooh - is that a book or an author?
This sounds so fun! I’m in😊. The only book I won’t be reading is Lolita. I hated that one, and have been trying to forget it ever since I read it ten years ago. Thank you for doing this girls🥰.

I haven't read the book, but love the movie Revolutionary Road! It's amazing but be prepared to be broken
Hahah can’t wait!

Happy to join 😊😊

Letter U is not on the list. Underground by Haruki Murakami. 😊
Good catch - have added it in😂
I always thought Evelyn Waugh was pronounced like ‘Woah’ and now I’m questioning everything.
Waugh is generally pronounced similar to War.
