  • We have all seen the hype, is this the wheel to end all wheels?! Did Powell and Andy Anderson re-invent... the wheel? Come along with me as we run the wheel through its paces and maybe this can help you decide if this wheel can make your number one spot on your next setup.

    might be worth testing these out on a new pair of trucks. because the shape opens up more hanger space your truck wear grooves may be a little off the wheel more than your used to. possibly could throw off some grinds or at least not able to hold them as long

    • @100funsummers
      @100funsummers  Рік тому +3

      I’m about a month out from a truck change, I’ll try it out then and update you. As of now I see about 2mm of extra clearance but I don’t see it grinding there because my grooves are really deep right now I’m almost at the axle is several spots, I think the curbs just fall into place for now. I’ll compare a new truck to theses when I break them out.

    Thanks for the vid! Got the wheels too a couple of days ago, even though I usually go for discounts and such. Have to say that I am very happy after first sesh, feels like I got better in some of my flip tricks thanks to them and they feel nice to ride. Had Spitfires previously and the Nano Cubics feel like a step up personally, especially since I am aiming to learn wallriding AND I enjoy some primo/railstand thingies here and there. Also want to protect my axle nuts that always seem to get destroyed, nwo I don't have to be as scared about nuts going back in when taking wheels off, a huge plus imo. Still need to feel out if the wider space for grinds has an effect, it also might.

      Yeah they definitely feel good for rolling around, I’m not sure if they will replace spitfire classics for me but I am really enjoying them. I do like that it feels as though I can have a softer wheel and still slide though too.

    I havnt bought a board since I was like 18 yrs old. I'm 39 now. Sold it to a friend for herb.. anyways, it was a flip board. I got a board from a friend. It's trash. World industry board. Just a mediocre board that I skate to A-B. Havnt been trying to do tricks I've learned in mad long. But as soon as I saw Andy's new board shape I want it bad n wanna get those wheels. Not sure on the trucks but just want the board,wheels. Just something about his new shape makes me wanna try again.those wheels do seem perfect. Can trick and cruise.. Andy's a young dude and has reinvented wheels n board with his ideals is amazing. Cant wait till I can eventually get one. Also wanna get a bmx as well. Trying to stay active. Been out of shape but this will slowly get me more active

    Oof that clip of you falling hitting your head. I've never seen that before. It makes a good argument for wearing a helmet but the chances of that happening are almost as low as getting hit by lightning, because you have to fall exactly straight on your back and land primo on a slippery floor, and sideways... Unlucky bro, glad your skull is fine. I wanna try these wheels but my dragon wheels are still in good condition.

    So how do they compare to Spitfire F4 99A classics you were using? Would you recommend them over the SFF4 99A classics and why?

    • @100funsummers
      @100funsummers  Рік тому +4

      I found them to be stickier than the F4’s but not by much. Where they really are different is in their rebound, they feel a bit bouncy when getting into slides that don’t pinch the wheel like a noseslide. I didn’t find this to be bad more just an observation. Flip tricks and Ollie’s felt the same, I didn’t find the softness to be an issue there. I did like them for skating around town, but I don’t do that normally and when I do I just take out my cruiser.
      I am going to go back to the classics after I burn through the nanos more because I feel like the classic shape lends itself to my style of skating more than the Nano Cubics. I would recommend the wheel to someone who wants a slight cruiser experience without losing the tricks when on a board. All in all a good wheel, but still can’t touch the classic F4 in my opinion.

    I also really liked the nano cubis because they simply have a nice tread and also stick out well over the truck. But I find the wheels really ugly and 52 mm is a bit of an adjustment for me. I now have my 56 mm slimeballs on it again and I continue to use OJ super juice on it for cruising.

      Yeah they have a bit of a novelty look, like marshmallows. I enjoyed them but wouldn’t get them again. I learned from riding them I like classic shapes with rounded edges more, makes it easier to do certain slappies, the lock in flat edge on the cubics wasn’t for me. I just got done with the Bones x97’s same urethane as the cubics but a more classic shape, I really enjoyed those. Currently though I’m trying out the Spitfire OG classic’s 52mm.

      @alstone5005 Рік тому +3

      They feel great but if you love the revert slide of the Dragons these are grippier on most surfaces due to a wider contact patch. I am a slide heavy skater so the Dragons have a slide all their own and last. The Nanos feel nothing like the slide of the Dragon but is rock solid enough and slide . Basically two different wheels and if you are doing wallies and freestyle tricks and such get Nanos. If not and you like a better sliding wheel get Dragons.
