Every time I see that cupcake clip it reminds me that ARMY actually brought those cupcakes for the host and they just took the credit and gave it to our boys.
Is it possible there was miscommunication? Perhaps the station thought army sent the cupcakes there as a gift to BTS? I haven't seen the entire thing, so I don't know.
I was shocked to learn that, in Korea, not all agencies pay idols what they earn from their success. I think Big Hit/Hybe is one of the fair ones. There was a females idol from a big group who said in her 10+ years she wasn't paid anything. I was shocked to hear that and happy that BTS was founded under PD Bang and get the actual benefit of their hard work. BTS started with rough times and don't takes their success for granted
Yeah I'm happy about that too. Bang PD seems like a really great person, and he's always treated the boys right, and now all 7 of them are part owners of Big Hit which means not only do they get a cut of everything the company makes, on top of their cut for their own songs, but they also get at least some say in how the company is run which is great.
yeh like Lee Seungi a very popular tvpersonallity, actor and singer who apparently hasnt been payed at all for his music (18 years, 27 albums 137 songs)...
it's actually for some agencies it's fair for them. Think about it The company sign a contract with you, you could train vocals, rap skill, dance and pa no money to them, you even live with tranees and pay no rent. Your meal is free too. You are doing this thing with payin 0 money from your pockets. Companies invest mone on trainees. Than when Trainees will debut and make monney they pay their debt to their company. When the paying the 'Debt' proces finish you can have your earnings, money. At this point it's fair. BUT some evil companies neglect their artists, use them and don't pay them their earning for sure too
Most of the videos are from quite a few years ago when they weren't millionaires...and they were on a tight budget during their travels...but it's really nice how they are always surprised at the prizes they get during the competitions... :)
I hope they never forget where they came from and continue to appreciate all the small things as well as the grand things. It’s the thought and gesture that counts.💜
Most of bts members have expensive houses and cars and black cards and so on they have all access to their money it's just for fun being exited over small things I believe a lot of rich people do the the same
These vids are hilarious! And also, i think an army pointed out that the ricecooker they won in that run bts ep, they still have it and use it in another episode in like last year or this year!
I believe it was a rice cooker from OG ARMY, not the one from Run. It's green and white. If you google, you can see pics. Though I'm sure they could always use two! They still had dishes and cups from ARMY in their dorm, too.
just gonna say this it always upsets me to watch that first video of yoongi. bcs people (non army or baby army) thought he stole that little mirror. and no, that was a freebie from the award show :( thankyou for the nice reaction video tho 💜
Whenever the boys fight over or beg for food I mentally hear a nature documentary narrator intoning "like many dog breeds, BTS is highly food motivated."
I mean it's true. All of them seem to be very food motivated. I wonder if part of it comes from their trainee days when they didn't always have enough to feed everyone.
They actually still pay attn to prices, you'll see them get outraged at some prices on a Run lol. They all have access to their money because Bang PD told them and their parents to make sure they have their own lawyers and accountants so all of that is taken care of. I'm sure if their accountant is smart some is definitely put away for them and their parents.
The thing about Jimin and the convenience store underwear - it means he hadn't been home all night. Korean convenience stores have a huge variety of work "walk of shame" supplies - including disposable underwear, body wipes, socks, makeup sachets, etc. So, whether you were burning the midnight oil in the office or out for drinks and noraebang (karaoke) with the boss and coworkers, you can freshen up before going back to work for another grueling day because it just isn't worth the time to travel home and back.
Just to remind that most of these clips were in connection with Run BTS or Bon Voyage episodes where they were given limited funds during a challenge. The best takeaway is BTS’ enthusiasm and fun in doing them together.
The company used to give them a set allowance when they did Bon Voyage and made them work with it to show them the value of money and they still realise to this day what the value of money is worth (also they wernt supposed to use their own credit cards during the experience). Also the 20 million each is way under what we all think they are really worth lol. Also they won a rice cooker (I think it was that) and they used it in their dorm for years it was still there when they were doing things during the pandemic. They all own their homes and vehicles (a bike in the case of Joonie lol ). They bought their own homes outright with cash.
remember when jungkook tried using his black card at the vending machine and it kept getting denied so the airport staff guy used his own card to get him the snack lmao.
The boys never forget their roots and all the struggles they went thru to get to this point. I don't know about how the music industry operates in S. Korea, but in North America everyone takes a cut from an artist's earnings: the government (taxes), the record company, their manager(s), their lawyer, the publicist, any security, personal staff.... So there may be an estimate of BTS members being worth $20 million but start subtracting and that number goes down pretty quickly. They're not poor but they're not as rich as the estimated worth.
Probably all that and what I have heard kpop artists could pay parts of awardshow or tour stages even hotels/flight tickets - tru or not?🤔💜 in kpop they could take big loans in their trainee days (or family), so if eny money start come, pay those first... and then house/restaurant/trips to parents, apartments to siblins, grannies, rest of family... And if covid-time has been bad to bisness...

To be honest, some of those clips were earlier in their careers when they really Didn't have so much money or net worth. Some were later though. There were a few missing from it, but that's okay (Part 2 sometime...lol). I think it they were working or doing an event for the company, the company paid. They didn't have much free time to do a whole lot of anything. Really, I think just since end of pandemic they've been shopping more on their own, and going out to restaurants on their own, etc. etc. So, of course, Now we Know they're wealthy. I hope it doesn't go to their heads (too much), but also that they get to enjoy life a little that they missed out on in their teens and early 20's.
I would love to see their walking wardrobes though, especially Jimin’s and jhope’s. Being brand ambassadors for some of the greatest fashion houses, they must be gifted a lot of clothes and accessories.
They have control of their own money! There’s even a clip where JK tried to buy something from one of those convenience machines (can’t remember the proper name for them atm) with his black card 💀.
[🔸I'm by no means an expert, but this is the info I've been taught.🔸] I think a lot of Western ARMY, especially new ones, keep forgetting that BTS members did not become millionaires until HYBE went public recently and they were gifted stock. When they made those big donations they were thousand-aires, LOL. They probably had around 7 or 8 years of "training debt" to work off, I believe, because until they started making a profit, they were still costing their broke little company, Big Hit, money, and since the company was broke for so long, Big Hit had some debts to pay off too. I'm thinking that the rappers were there the longest before debut which might equal more debt, but I think they also get paid more because of their extra duties. I'M NOT SURE ABOUT THAT. Anyway, they went from broke to thousand-aires, then rather suddenly to millionaires. It makes sense that they would need time to adjust their mentality. A lot of the clips in this video are from show episodes where they were given only a limited amount of funds, though.
Don’t forget, most of them did not grow up with money and they were very, very poor during those trainee years through to several years even after their debut (2015-2016); so when you have been ‘without’ all of your life, people tend to remain thrifty after they become wealthy.
True! They are too busy to buy and enjoy things. Just imagine being poor havinf too much time but no money to buy things. But bts have toooo much money, but no time to enjoy them.
"Do you even have a card in your pocket?" Me: Thinking of the time JK couldn’t get snacks because the vending machine wasn't set up to accept his black no-limit credit card. 🤦♀️🤷♀️

I hope ARMY told BTS about that afterwards. That was ugly move from the hosts. :(

@@robwebnoid5763 No... they said it was a gift from *them* and not from a fan club to the radio crew in hope that the staff treat BTS right.
I think BTS were aware that it came from ARMY'S and the Radio station were shameless enough to steal the credit
