This video and the rest of your vlogs and blogs have honestly been the most helpful sources of information I’ve ever come across when planning a trip! Thanks so much. 🙌
I've been thinking about moving to Thailand for a couple of months just to train at tiger muay thai and see how's living there cause I've always been attracted to the lifestyle. Honestly, this was a big part of the info I needed! Thanks so much, such an amazing video, now I'm pretty sure that I'll go there soon🌻
Hey Brad!! I been watching your videos for over 3 months now preparing for my trip to Thailand tomorrow specifically Tiger Muy Thai. Thank you for the Videos!! I'll keep you posted
Thanks for your helpful videos.. I'm looking at going over to Thailand next year.. I'll be 47 and have just got back in muay thai after 10yrs off.. Been keeping up with my boxing training.. Looking at maybe Rawai muay thai.. Thanks again guys for the tips.
Anytime :-) Awesome to hear you are getting back into it!! It probably won't take long to get into the rhythm again. I will try and get up to Khao Lak to see Rawai if I get a chance... let me know how it goes!
Hey man! Thanks a lot for your videos. I'm pretty sure I've seen every single one of them to prepare myself for this trip! I'm currently staying at Tiger Muay Thai for two months! Anyway, keep it up man and hope to see more videos from you! :D
Thanks so much, Brad. Did not realize that there are lots of details to take note for taking a fitness vocation in Tiger Muay Thai training. Very useful for beginners!
It's for Tiger and pretty much applies to most of the other training centres aswell... Based on all the questions I have been getting about it - it was just easier to throw it all into one video. When you are ready to go to Phuket, watch this video again :-) Let me know as I might also be in the area!
Great video. :) Just got back from 2 weeks at TMT but will be using some of these tips when I go back! (I'm guilty of over-training and not taking electrolytes!)
Thanks a heap! Yeah I've definitely done the over-training thing myself.. :-P Over enthusiastic haha Those electrolytes from the Pharmacy on the same street are a life saver!!

Probably less hassle to get a package but most people I've spoken to that have gotten a package wished they didn't. Can't speak from experience but thinking of getting a package just so I can review it. When are you going?
Thanks a ton! Never been to Khongsittha but Tiger is basically in a "fitness village" where all of the eateries and restaurants are catered for the people that train along the street. Have you been to a training camp in Thailand before?
It does sound amazing to be honest. Just deciding wether I want the bustle of the city or calmness of the beach while I train. Iv never been to Thailand but Iv done MMA for years at a decent pro level so I’m hoping to take Muay Thai serious too. Is it worth doing the packages or not?
Packages with accommodation and food? Alot of guys have told me they'd rather do training only and stay somewhere nearby and eat the food off Soi Taied (fitness st). Phuket is hardcore but you have the luxury of the beaches/islands. In BKK, it is hardcore with no beach to run to on Sunday ;( and BKK gets full on with traffic during peak hour (can take several hours to cross the city!)
I believe it costs around 900 baht for a "day pass" but if you are going just for the Muay Thai and want to taste it, I'd just to the drop in for a single class. From memory, it's around 400 baht. I made a travel guide video covering all the expenses around training on Fitness street for a month here - ua-cam.com/video/hHcgFBl2qW8/v-deo.html
If you are comfortable on a scooter, around 20 minutes or so to the south. The Patong side is around 30 or so minutes. Taxis only if you don't feel comfortable but they are expensive!
Hi Brad, do you have a video or a guide on the daily prices? I would like to go to Tiger Muay Thai, but I don't know wether I have enough money for 4 weeks. I intend to take the all-inclusive basic package (all classes, accomodation, prepaid meal card). How much food will the meal card cover? How much money do you spend on a daily basis for food and stuff? Do you need equipment aside from gloves?
To be honest, I don't have a daily price guide nor am I sure of how much food is covered. You are best emailing TMT. I think a daily food budget for the street for around $20-30 AUD is reasonable. You could go cheaper it just depends on how lavish you eat.
Hi, i'm planning on going out there soon for 2-3 weeks for purely training. What is your recommendation for the amount of money to take and while you're out there what do you do with your money? Do any of the shops, restaurants and gyms take cards or do you need to take excess amounts of cash to last a few weeks?
There are plenty of ATM machines there to withdraw from. I usually just withdraw what I need for the week. I wouldn't take 3 weeks worth of cash (unless you are travelling to a less developed country where ATMs are few and far between, and not reliable). Pretty much the bigger training centres have eftpos machines - so you can usually pay for your training on card. Private sessions at some gyms, I'll pay cash. With food (at smaller restaurants), I usually just pay cash. Budget for around $20-30 USD per day for food (modest). You can do it cheaper it just depends on how fancy (western) you are with food choices.
@@BradNewton where in OZ are you based. Going to be in Sydney area I hope soon.....love to do a semi fitness holiday....any recommendation?... If I get my way Thailand in couple months....
In Melbourne ;) so a place in Melb/Sydney to train like fitness street in Phuket? Don't have any haha... how long are you here for? I would def pick phuket over melb/syd for training camps anyday! Let me know when you get to Phuket!
Both are awesome. Tmt is more central! You'll meet more people (great for solo travelling) and is on the street where you have access to unlimited healthy food restaurants/cafes etc. Aka is a little further out and has no infrastructure around it (which is also great if you want the "training in a jungle" feel)
hey man!! I think we are going to spend it in Landgraaf in the Netherlands!! We are still talking about it but most likely take a car there for a few days :-) what are your plans?
Hi how far is your hotel to tmt camp? Because there's tmt beach side also. I am planning to stay for 3months training. How much. Does. Your hotel cost?
Coco retreat (where we filmed this vlog) is about a 10 minute scooter ride to the main TMT training centre. If you don't want to hire a scooter, you could also stay at Cocoville (really nice place, stayed there before aswell) - it's a 10 min walk! Check out this review I did on Coco retreat- ua-cam.com/video/MvnkyA0pZ44/v-deo.html
@@BradNewton hey man I'm looking at going at the end of the year. Do they give you lots of attention in the beginners class? Also are all the tiger camps running distance to the training facilities?
Not as much as you'd like... It is very high turn-over, especially during the beginning of the week. There are trainers that float around and will correct obnoxious flaws in your technique. But getting a private session once you've spent 1-2 weeks working on your conditioning, is the best choice. One camp is on campus. Not sure about ALL of their camps but there are definitely a few that are within walking distance.
Lovin the vids man, question on the laundry subject probably a dumb one. Does the cost per kg include any detergent/softener/etc? Or is that just to run the machine? Thanks
I didn't know you could get contact sport insurance! Robyn and I usually use World Nomad insurance with additional insurance if we do adventure stuff... not sure if contact sport is covered under the normal coverage?? Let me know what you find...!
@@BradNewton yer combat sports are not covered. I'm aussie and went through a travel agent and she thought I could get covered but nope, which doesn't bother me as we choose this sport fully aware of the possible injuries 😅 watching all your videos brad, so helpful thank you
You're welcome :) i have looked into it since our messages. You're right... we accept the muay thai potential consequences. I would have to check but it looks like world nomads cover contact sports at Level 2 coverage. I would have to call them to confirm though
@@BradNewton I'm covered by cover more travel insurance. It's the flight agency go to insurance company. I think the more you worry about getting injured the higher the chances of it happening haha
Depends on your passport... you'll have to check that online. Usually 2 months with an extension for an extra month with a border run but you'll need to check your own passport.
Hey Jess!! that came from the store across the road from the Italian restaurant on fitness street (around Unit 27) - a small Thai store selling them for a few hundred Baht :-)
Both are great in their own way. If you want a smaller, less crowded place to train then PTT. Depends on the type of training you plan on doing (Tiger has a solid strength and functional training program).
I've done both the all inclusive (Muay Thai plus fitness classes) and stand alone Muay Thai (no fitness classes included)... Depends on what you are coming for. I've never stayed on campus, just nearby places which I've done separate videos on. How long you coming for?
All sorts of people train here- all shapes and sizes, all ages and experience levels. You have nothing to worry about :-) If travelling solo - no issues at all (you'll meet people fast!)

Hello bro
Are there any halal food places for Muslims to eat and or any mosques close by appreciate your response
Lovin the vids man, question on the laundry subject probably a dumb one. Does the cost per kg include any detergent/softener/etc? Or is that just to run the machine? Thanks
Definitely not a dumb question. Usually 30 baht for laundry + 10 baht for powder. Usually 40 baht per KG of laundry on fitness street :-)
Hi guys I was wondering if you’s got travel and sports insurance that covered contact sport injuries while yous were there?
I think the more you worry about getting injured the higher the chances of it happening haha
haha yeah you are right!!
Have the best time :-)
you got anything on visas? planning on staying for 3 months
Depends on your passport... you'll have to check that online. Usually 2 months with an extension for an extra month with a border run but you'll need to check your own passport.
Where’s your tank top from?
Hey Jess!! that came from the store across the road from the Italian restaurant on fitness street (around Unit 27) - a small Thai store selling them for a few hundred Baht :-)
is PTT better than TMT
Both are great in their own way. If you want a smaller, less crowded place to train then PTT. Depends on the type of training you plan on doing (Tiger has a solid strength and functional training program).
What package did you choose?
I've done both the all inclusive (Muay Thai plus fitness classes) and stand alone Muay Thai (no fitness classes included)... Depends on what you are coming for. I've never stayed on campus, just nearby places which I've done separate videos on. How long you coming for?
@@BradNewton i wanted to do a month. I am currently looking at the all inclusive: Standard.
Can't go wrong! Not there at the moment. Doing some videos on my home country. Will return soon ;)
Do they have western boxing there?
they certainly do. It's a split class now (beginner & advanced)
🙏✌️👍🤙
Is it just me or does this guy kind of look like Calvin Kattar?
haha he's a beast
Do you know what fitness street and the gyms are like for LGBT travellers? I know Patpong has a large LGBT community.
All sorts of people train here- all shapes and sizes, all ages and experience levels. You have nothing to worry about :-)
If travelling solo - no issues at all (you'll meet people fast!)
Tiger commercial lol. hope you got paid by them
I wish! For the love of the vlog and the tons of questions i get... i can just point to this video
i feel so annoyed when the kid crying out loud for long time in the background...!!!! phewww...!!!
it was extremely loud on my end!
@@BradNewton and you guys can't say even to their parents.. that's more annoying..
i gone through this type of situations...
