You spend enough time in tiger, for trainer to always remember you, i trained in Bkk, and did not see my trainer until 15 years later, as gym closed down and he retired.. I bumped into him at a market and at 70 came of and hugged me, calling my name ! 10 years, 7 full time, and 3 on and off, awesome ! Unit 27 opened in 2011!
Johnny, I really enjoyed this video because you were so happy and excited to revisit your old muay thai stomping grounds and Tony's restaurant. Have fun!
So nice to be able to see Soi Ta-iad again. It's been four years since I've been there and I see the changes therefore I can only imagine how you feel. Great video.
Sir wonderful video content. To hear you takes us through the history of this place and your personal connection. Plus cool hearing your voice at the younger years and seeing you at them young years. Hope you make more of these history videos of places you been at 10- years or long before..
Hi J, I was wondering if you know some places in phuket (fitness street maybe?) where they teach children muay thai (my daughter is 5,5), my wife can take fitness classes, and I could do some amateur muay thai for a fit 42 year old who just uses muay thai to stay in shape.... Kind regards from Belgium
I had to look up that word, but thanks! It was exactly how I was trying to show it. "(of a feeling or atmosphere) so intense as to seem almost tangible, able to be touched or felt."
She looks like 16 years younger than her age. Really good shape. Lots of Brits and Russians love to train Muay Thai in Thailand I find. Also, this rapid development is happening all over SE Asia. I go the Puerto Princesa, Philippines every year and each year it keeps expanding with Western hotel chains, new restaurants and shops and more and more tourists are everywhere. Asia in general is booming with tourism, expat and business demand.
that is really cool to have memories like this, and recorded. I was sized up simply working out at a gym.. I guess I am a boxing shape of a human. LOl.I still am a fan today. I was way too busy. You are big enough, where you don't look 5 ft 11. Psychology by appearance. My grandpa was 5 ft11 3/4 .. worked as a bouncer. Skinny guy with 2x large to cover his shoulders bones.
Johnny, I didnt follow you 10 years ago.. but after watching this vid (the Johnny now vs the Johnny 10 yrs ago), I feel old ;) I hope you enjoyed going through this memory lane. Very touched to see you meeting nice folks again after many years!
I knew you did Muay Thai and everything... But man, like so many of the UFC's world champs and contenders train/have trained at Tiger! How amazing to see how far that gym has come and what it has become! That's so f'n rad that you were there "before it was cool!" Do you still ever watch the UFC or want to? I could help you with that if necessary. Anyways man, super cool that you trained at Tiger before it was even known like it is today. I mean for f'n god sakes, Alex Volkanovski trains there when leading up to fights!!
Johnny, you remind me of the MMA fighter Randall "Tex" Cobb. He trained on submarine sandwiches and pitchers of beer and still managed to go 15 rounds with Larry Holmes. In an interview later he said he was starting to wear down Holmes and could have beat him if they went another 10 rounds. He asked Holmes for a rematch and Larry said ABSOLUTELY NOT.
Johnny ,love the channel ,great content ,love following your journey around the globe ,you should meet up with irish partizan in belarus ,like Bald did ,jesus wept ,love to see both of yous arguing any point . 😢😢😢
Cool video, i have a question, how does it all work if u wanting to fight, do you become a sponsored fighter? Do u still have to pay training fees? Does the gym take a cut of the purse? Thanks bro
The first fight is always as a paying customer, they may take some fees for hand wraps, cornerman, etc. After that, if they ask you to fight under the gym banner in the future, you can negotiate free training for a cut of the purse, etc.
Great to see you back at Muay Thai. Amazing how far Muay Thai tourism has grown from when I first went to Thailand in 1984.
This is so heartwarming in so many ways. Thanks for the video!

Super video, the nostalgia was palpable.

Johnny's probably just complimenting her. In my standards, I wouldn't give her a day less than 46
@@yuryhalim3733 come on at least give her 38. I know 46 year old women that look absolutely wretched. she doesn't look that old.
Theres an american lady named Lily who has a youtube channel, she lives in thailand and has a restaurant.
Hahaha memories eating at Tony's. Jee was such a nice dude
Awesome video Johnny, enjoyed watching
Literally heading here next month so perfect timing

More Muay Thai / mma stuff . I love it ! Imagine a life without it … that’s called hell
Wow, Johnny looked different back then. You NEED to trim down. Shred weight.
Not when he's eating every 5 minutes and downing Long Islands.
Also, use your platform to expose this problem in San Fran. You have a duty to uphold mate.
Watch my “SF is a Ghost Town” video from my last trip.
@@JohnnyFD Mate, I follow your channel. I did see it 🙄 But did you do anything about it? If you did can you let us know please 🙂
that was awesome when your trainer saw you
Johnny always remember always go for the trunk of the tree. Muay Thai has no ranking.
Good to go home again.
Great footage Johnny, do you remember prethemps muay thai gym in Rawai back in 2010?

Why do some asian countries have so many dangerous wires tangled all over the place?
It's just cheapest and easier to wire that way.
💡👍
