Oh my goodness I just saw the battery charger that Mat used to start Katie’s car! It is so amazing! I just went on AMAZON and bought for my honey for Father’s Day! I so enjoy you and Mat and y’all’s special talks with each other and us. It blesses our hearts so much! Mat is so much like my Honey, so kind and good to you, and it shows so much! He has his own little way of letting you know his family is very important to him! That’s how my honey is! We have been married 41 years, and we both are so blessed to have each other. We have one son and he will be 27 June 12th. He’s not married yet, but just waiting on GOD to direct his path to what ever he has planned for him! My [now late] mama used to eat squirrels when she was growing up during the Great Depression [she was born in 1930]. She said that they were good eatin'. I've never eaten a squirrel, but my son Andrew killed his first one down in the low-country near Beaufort, SC, a while back and he said it didn't taste that great. I guess it's because it was a swamp living squirrel and it ate stuff that made it taste not so great. Hopefully when he moves to the mountains of Appalachia he'll get some that taste better. I’m about the age of you and Matt and I can easily remember that we had more snow in the 70’s. I’m from Alberta (prairie province in western Canada) and while it definitely snows here every year, I have a vivid memory of there being so much snow that we were standing on the very top bar of the swing set in my friends yard! Plus we dug snow tunnels and my brothers attempted to make an igloo! I lived in town so we rarely missed school but when the country kids couldn’t be bussed in we would have a pretty fun and easy day at school. It’s funny how I don’t like being out in the snow much anymore but sure miss those carefree snowy days! Love your channel and learning about your lifestyle where you live!

Galvanized washtubs that brings back memories . Tell Matt that the winter of 1976 into the new year of 1977 was the winter that the snow ,and freezing temperatures closed the school for 43 days . It was good that we did not have to make those school days up . Thanks Tipper, enjoyed.
I agree. The peacefulness is precious. We have a nice yard and veggie garden with trees around but we are in City limits. Our city is trying to stop the problem we have of the ding dongs who like to take there cars and screech and spin donuts till the burned rubber smoke is on top of us. It really ruins the mood. I hope they never see that sort of thing in Appalachia.
If you're in California check out the El Dorado County area. Similar areas all around to the north and East, especially Pollock Pines. Fires are a big issue though, so fair warning.
I can remember squirrel hunting alone as a boy of 12...the smell of the mountain air..the squirrels cutting on hickory nuts. Those memories go back over 60 years.
I power washed my porch last night. Threw away and gave away some of it. Open wide now! We pulled the trash can to the porch! Filled it full. Threw away the wind chimes too.😂

Matt sounded fun when he said about the hoarders. That made me think of my husband ( Matt ) and myself. But I’m the one with wants to get rid of things, and he wants to keep everything. That chainsaw looked pretty neat.
I remember the winter of 1977-78 storm also. We were out of school for Christmas break and a big Nor'easter hit. We got over 2 feet of snow overnight. Then it went into a deep freeze and didn't get above freezing for almost the whole month of January.
Tipper, please get Matt to put a good coat of wax on the birdhouse and then mount it somewhere in your garden. The wax will keep it from deteriorating so quickly and maybe you'll get a bird. Those kinds of things in my garden make me smile when I am so hot and sweaty here in the deep South. I look forward to seeing you all. It's like a wonderful neighbor family stopped by for a visit. Tipper, we women are so sentimental! I have boxes of stuff that my kids are going to say, "Why did she save that!" My son would bring me pretty rocks and I still have a pile of them and he's 40.

Matt, I bought a 7mm Mauser surplus rifle in 1970. My favorite deer gun. I just paid $64.99 per 20 round box before taxes! Took me 10 months to find them! Going squirrel hunting Thursday! Can’t wait to fire up my old cast iron Dutch oven! Really enjoyed this video!

You should use that beautiful slice of wood you had as your top to the barrel because one side of it looks like a heart for your coffee table between your chairs. Just stain it & put a polyurethane finish on it & secure it to the barrel so it won't tip over. The heart between you that shows your love for each other & your family.

I was so surprised how many of the very things we have on our porch. A table out of a hewn piece of wood, wind chimes, bird houses, bottles, little welcome signs, rocking chairs and much more…and we live way up north in upstate New York!

My husband bought me a Milwaukee battery-powered chain saw and I LOVE IT!! I like to do work outside when he's at work but could never get his gas powered one started!! He also bought me a mini one and let tell you, that little one is super handy
Early freeze here last night. We pulled our tomato vines and picked about a bushel and half green tomatoes to store. Covered our beets, lettuce, and cabbage with straw and blankets. In the 20s outside so I'm going out tomorrow with a bow. We are to have 3 days below average temperatures at night then its supposed to warm into the 80s for a while. I envy you your fall colors. We've really had drouth this year so our colors won't be anything exceptional. Lots of mast here too. Wish Matt good luck on his hunts and you many wonderful fall days before the cold turns bitter.

That battery powered stuff is handy and actually runs real well. I have a backpack blower that rarely gets used except in the fall because the battery blower is just so easy to deal with and you don’t have to fight with it to get it running.

I love seeing Matt working while you are talking. It just reminds me of a SCTV skit. I have a Ryobi battery chainsaw, and I love trimming low hanging branches with it. Hint: Get a 2nd battery! Stay safe, gang!
Last month we had a storm that came through it took a big tree down at my sisters house. Tree trimmers said it would take two months to get out to her house. I told her no problem I had just purchased a Ryobi battery chainsaw went to her house and we got all of the limbs cut and moved so she could see how much damage was done to her pull behind trailer. Sister liked the little chainsaw so much she went two days later and purchase one for herself. We’re both in our late 60s and not afraid of work. Yes a second battery is a must and a fast charging station.
Those bug things Matt's talking about is Bot fly larvae. Daddy always waited for frost for squirrels and a snow for rabbits because of it. Those chickens are molting late, aren't they? I laughed, it looked like your keep pile was way bigger than your get rid of pile. We had to move a few times in the last fee years. You don't like stuff as much when you have to pack/move it a few times, lol I enjoy "visiting" with y'all. Stay warm! Stay safe and GOD bless

Nothing high dollar, just stuff I thought was pretty or interesting. I still have a few small old medicine bottles I dug out of the backyard and old license plates. I used to share my stuff with my Grandma which drove my Grandpa nuts. He'd see us coming and say how "happy" he was that we were bringing more things to dust. Have a blessed week.

I saw Popsicles when I was shopping last week,nearly got some . Might next week. Spring here so it will be Popsicle weather soon.

If you're in California check out the El Dorado County area. Similar areas all around to the north and East, especially Pollock Pines. Fires are a big issue though, so fair warning.
I can remember squirrel hunting alone as a boy of 12...the smell of the mountain air..the squirrels cutting on hickory nuts. Those memories go back over 60 years.
I power washed my porch last night. Threw away and gave away some of it. Open wide now! We pulled the trash can to the porch! Filled it full. Threw away the wind chimes too.😂

I remember the winter of 1977-78 storm also. We were out of school for Christmas break and a big Nor'easter hit. We got over 2 feet of snow overnight. Then it went into a deep freeze and didn't get above freezing for almost the whole month of January.
I remember that also. I was in college in Banner Elk and the schools in Avery County were closed from Christmas break until about Feb. 15th.
Tipper, please get Matt to put a good coat of wax on the birdhouse and then mount it somewhere in your garden. The wax will keep it from deteriorating so quickly and maybe you'll get a bird. Those kinds of things in my garden make me smile when I am so hot and sweaty here in the deep South. I look forward to seeing you all. It's like a wonderful neighbor family stopped by for a visit. I have things like that too. I even had a little lamp on my front porch for awhile. I don't remember what happened to it, but it was cute sitting out on my front porch. Believe me.... it don't end. Wait til ya have grandkids. You find yourself collecting and saving even more stuff. It doesn't mean that much to anyone else but you. 😁🥰❤❤❤

Tipper, we women are so sentimental! I have boxes of stuff that my kids are going to say, "Why did she save that!" My son would bring me pretty rocks and I still have a pile of them and he's 40.
I purchased one of those saws for tree limbs and such…. A real time saver when you don’t want to drag out the big gas saw.

Matt, I bought a 7mm Mauser surplus rifle in 1970. My favorite deer gun. I just paid $64.99 per 20 round box before taxes! Took me 10 months to find them! Going squirrel hunting Thursday! Can’t wait to fire up my old cast iron Dutch oven! Really enjoyed this video!

You should use that beautiful slice of wood you had as your top to the barrel because one side of it looks like a heart for your coffee table between your chairs.
Just stain it & put a polyurethane finish on it & secure it to the barrel so it won't tip over.

I was so surprised how many of the very things we have on our porch. A table out of a hewn piece of wood, wind chimes, bird houses, bottles, little welcome signs, rocking chairs and much more…and we live way up north in upstate New York!

My husband bought me a Milwaukee battery-powered chain saw and I LOVE IT!! I like to do work outside when he's at work but could never get his gas powered one started!! He also bought me a mini one and let tell you, that little one is super handy
I previously lived in northern Idaho and personally If I never see another snowflike as long as I live I will be very happy.

Early freeze here last night. We pulled our tomato vines and picked about a bushel and half green tomatoes to store. Covered our beets, lettuce, and cabbage with straw and blankets. In the 20s outside so I'm going out tomorrow with a bow. We are to have 3 days below average temperatures at night then its supposed to warm into the 80s for a while. I envy you your fall colors. We've really had drouth this year so our colors won't be anything exceptional. Lots of mast here too. Wish Matt good luck on his hunts and you many wonderful fall days before the cold turns bitter.

I laughed out loud….And this concludes this episode of The Hoarders…..and then…I might come out and wallow like a dog. Matt love it when he comments. We have had a couple frosts and snow is expected either Monday or Tuesday. I took up the garden and the flowers are kaput. The porch looks lovely. I can relate Tipper. Down six items….ok we need at least one popsicle in the snow.

That battery powered stuff is handy and actually runs real well. I have a backpack blower that rarely gets used except in the fall because the battery blower is just so easy to deal with and you don’t have to fight with it to get it running.

I love seeing Matt working while you are talking. It just reminds me of a SCTV skit. I have a Ryobi battery chainsaw, and I love trimming low hanging branches with it. Hint: Get a 2nd battery! Stay safe, gang!
Last month we had a storm that came through it took a big tree down at my sisters house. Tree trimmers said it would take two months to get out to her house. I told her no problem I had just purchased a Ryobi battery chainsaw went to her house and we got all of the limbs cut and moved so she could see how much damage was done to her pull behind trailer. Sister liked the little chainsaw so much she went two days later and purchase one for herself. We’re both in our late 60s and not afraid of work. Yes a second battery is a must and a fast charging station.
Those bug things Matt's talking about is Bot fly larvae. Daddy always waited for frost for squirrels and a snow for rabbits because of it. Those chickens are molting late, aren't they? I laughed, it looked like your keep pile was way bigger than your get rid of pile. We had to move a few times in the last fee years. You don't like stuff as much when you have to pack/move it a few times, lol I enjoy "visiting" with y'all. Stay warm! Stay safe and GOD bless

Thanks for sharing your afternoon with us! Your metal treasures brought back memories for me. I used to have a pile of things I found when I was young. Nothing high dollar, just stuff I thought was pretty or interesting. I still have a few small old medicine bottles I dug out of the backyard and old license plates. I used to share my stuff with my Grandma which drove my Grandpa nuts. He'd see us coming and say how "happy" he was that we were bringing more things to dust. Have a blessed week.
