- I have been collecting for our Victorian farmhouse for many years now. It is an eclectic mix of new, old, expensive, free and everything in between. I love making my home cozy, which is a process that takes TIME. It is ever growing and evolving, so I encourage you to enjoy the journey.

I love that your Son sews. My Grandson asked me to teach him to quilt and I am happy to do so.
We are buying a Victorian folk style house built in 1910 later this summer. We are so excited, it’s going to just be my husband and myself. The kids are adults now. We keep telling ourselves, we don’t have to decorate it all right away. Part of the fun, is the looking for those treasures!
REALLY enjoyed this tour.
Almost our entire house is thrifted from local shops, FB Marketplace, Craigslist, yard sales.....you name it.
It has a ton of character, and I feel our furniture is much more solid and better quality than the hideous particleboard stuff being sold in retail stores today. I would never consider furnishing or decorating my home in any other way.

The frame with the jar that says "sukker" actually means sugar in danish. You kan buy these jars in antique stores here in Denmark 😀
And in Norway , we also say and spells it sukker 🤎☺️
The same word in Arabic as well we say sukkar…
You are such a great example of how you can put a home together without getting high priced expensive items. So many people today go over their budget and get in trouble and don't realize there's no need to do that. You have a beautiful home and a beautiful family. Well done

Love the wallpaper idea! Can't wait to see it come to life. On the art though: I really think it's a misconception that art is thousands of dollars. Local art collectives can be very very affordable -sure it may be several hundred for a good sized oil painting but you will still spend that at a flea market. I love vintage art myself but I try to find ways to support local living artists as well and I promise it's not as pricey as you may think. Works on paper such as watercolors, etchings, and drawings are especially accessible and would look great in some of those vintage frames! 🥰

I totally agree with shopping your own home. I have a collection of small ”side” tables that I rotate around when I need some action 😆

home in general takes time indeed! i married 3y ago and came from zero furniture, zero everything! my living room and may boys room are "ready", but my mattress is still on the floor! if you don't wanna take credit from the bank and go in debt, you gotta have patience... and I'm not even a antique collector, my style in modern and minimalist

Beautiful home. I was blessed to inherit many things from my mom and dad. So it brings back a lot of childhood memories but with touches of my decorations.
I love the farmhouse sink. I have my great uncle's from his farmhouse! We put it in our master bathroom and I love it. I also would love to have a vintage stove. I believe the new owners of his place either scrapped it or left it sitting out in the tree line.😔
I just loved the tour of your collected home. As I sit in my bed and look around the room I find the same things, the mixture of old and new. I love finding old lamps. I found two old lamps that both had some great glass pieces and had it made into one. It is my favorite. Your home is so inviting and has such a loved feeling. Bless all of you. 💕💕💕

My 104 yr old house has my hutch in the front room and I have 2 trunks, 1 with pics and the other has sheets at the foot of the bed.

Love your home ! Its beautiful . I believe that old farm houses need stuff that does not match. My Grandparents had things in their home that they picked up here and there at auctions and sales and wherever . Its wonderful

I have old dishes that belonged to my grandma and my Mom.
When I moved to Missouri I found pieces that matched her Hall’s pottery!
I have an old chest of drawers that belonged to my grandma!
I have old linens that use all the time.

Your home just gets better and better.
When armoires don’t close it’s usually because things are out of square. There might be a loose joint somewhere, but often it could just be because the floors aren’t level in an old house and over time it’s pulled out of square if it’s loaded up. To check if things are square or not measure the diagonals from corner to corner on the front opening. If the doors were made properly squared but the piece has gotten skewed out of square that will cause them not to close properly (same thing is true with window sashes in out of square window openings). If the joints are a bit loose and it’s out of square on an unlevel floor you might be able to level the armoire up with shims as needed. I have an old wardrobe I got many years ago for $5 that developed a loose joint on the lower right side after an apartment I was living in flooded. Now when the door doesn’t close I usually just check the lower right side and sure enough it’s loose, I kick it back tight and the door closes fine! 😂 If I wasn’t planning on replacing it soon I’d try to reglue and clamp it back together, but I’ve been planning on replacing it for awhile. 😂

I love watching your channel & just have to comment about your stove. Seeing it, reminds me of my Grandmother’s kitchen. She had one just like it. And her kitchen had similar 3 windows over the kitchen table instead of like yours over the sink. In my childhood home, we had a sink in the laundry/ utility room just like this one without the drain board. Seeing them evokes such pleasant memories for me and I truly appreciate this.
Oh, and the blue green wall colour behind the copper pots in your pantry makes me 😊 happy!
