    Couple of additional points to look out for.
    - There is a parliamentary decision which grants a flat 5% crown lands. If that comes in the first group, you can pick that one, and then revoke crown lands on day one to get to 40%, which enables you to immediately get rid of the horrible "Villeinage" modifier. And then take the mana point decisions. Well worth it if RNG is in your favour at the start.
    - If you are planning on going Anglican, an extremely useful province to take is Bratsberg in Norway. It's monument allows for an extra missionary at tier 2. Plus war with Denmark, and taking regular bite-sized chunks out of the Lubeck/North Sea nodes, are super strong for your economy.
    - After the French war, and during your relative peaceful developing period, don't overlook the Burgher decision "Exclusive Trade Rights". It will give you -15% dev cost in exchange for 20% minimum autonomy in all of your centers of trade provinces in one of your trade nodes that you have more than 3 CoTs in. Obviously early on, this will only be English Channel node, whereby you will have at least 4-6 (maybe 9 with Burg Inheritance) CoTs. If you can time it right, with the parliamentary decision for 10% dev cost, various mission tree modifiers, and other bonuses, it is possible to get dev cost down to 5/6 points per click. Especially in London/York/Lancashire which are also cotton farmlands provinces. Getting these 3 provinces to 10 (level 2 CoT), 15 (Expand Infrastructure) and 25 (level 3 CoT) should be a huge priority as early as possible as it will massively snowball your economy. But don't forget to revoke this decision ASAP to get the local autonomy back in these provinces once you're done.
    - If you don't go for Burgundian Inheritance, another sneaky choice I don't often see people take, is that with the Age of Discovery bonus that gives you half-price transfer of subject, it is possible to get both Holland & Flanders in one war transferred over to you, if you can handle the AE. Taking just Holland can be the better choice if you're going this route, as you can easily feed them the lowlands over time before ever reaching Dutch revolts, and have them loyal enough to transfer trade to you. This can also be done for Norway through Denmark. Obviously taking the land directly is often an equal/better choice, but it can be done this way in certain playthroughs depending on your situation.
    - If you choose to take either Maritime or Naval ideas (or both), the Government reform "Confirm Thalassocracy" is significantly more powerful than the English/British unique one (I forget it's name) for gaining Trade protectorates. Obviously these are still weaker idea group choices than the alternatives, but leaning in to the naval powerhouse playstyle even further as the British is surprisingly more viable than it used to be. The combinations of your buffed marines, extra boosts to disembark speed, free naval barrages, naval bonuses to siege, make this playstyle actually a little worthwhile, even in single player. Try it, you might be surprised.
    I'm sure there are many many other little strategies and tips, England/Great Britain was always one of the most diverse playthroughs, hence it's popularity

    If you’re desperate for war of the roses and happy to pay prestige you can day one introduce heir. The new heir shouldn’t be Lancaster, so the disaster keeps ticking. Your lower legitimacy also speeds up the disaster. This allows you to block getting a relevant heir and smooth your path to the disaster.
    Also, interesting guide! I confess I’m too greedy to release vassals and I like direct rule in Ireland but may try the Irish PU next game.

    I mean, the whole point of GB vs Angevin Empire is integrating either Scotland or France for free. So you chose GB and then diplo-annexed Scotland??? Only to keep England's ideas. You could have just taken Angevin path and do the same but not form the Angevin Empire, either because lv 10 admin tech or because it takes a while to conquer all France's region anyway.
    Colonization isn't really necessary, you can eventually get a PU over Portugal and Add Heir to the throne of Castille/Spain and you have the whole New World secured

    • @bradleystevens4618
      @bradleystevens4618 Рік тому +15

      His point was that he didn't want to immediately become an endgame tag, and the free integration of Scotland/France requires forming Britain or Angevin, both endgame tags. And while the Angevin tree is overall better, most of their best missions require you to have formed Angevin, whereas with British missions you can complete them as England before tag-switching to other formable nations for their mission trees and ideas (idk what other nations tho)

    • @Tarkusarkusar
      @Tarkusarkusar  Рік тому +6

      as Bradley said below, it's more about avoiding an end-game tag switch. I don't want to be pigeonholed into my tag, since it's fun to make new tags in this game. With Angevin Kingdom, most of the mission tree is locked behind the tag switch, whereas GB gets access to everything without needing to tag switch

    You can get explorers if you have a colonist and grant the Burghers the "Grant New World Charters" privilege. Every 10 years you can get a free explorer and +10% colonial range that way!

    • @Tarkusarkusar
      @Tarkusarkusar  Рік тому +5

    2 Ways to Evade Surrender of Maine
    1. Sell Maine to Britany or Provence - 100% chance to evade ,aslo it complete first mission
    2. If you own Maine and event fires while France in the war with any other nation - you can choose start the war decision and save the Maine, no war will be start since France already in another war

    Cool vid. Btw you can do an even stronger and taller england through Denmark. Get the buffs by making enemies with the personal unions and on tech 10 form prussia by conquering 3 provinces and then england. You get insane modifiers from the danish mission tree (25 goods produced,, 35 trade efficiency and other insane stuff) plus you can get prussian ideas. You dont get english parliament but you can keep the prussian monarchy(without militarization) or the kalmar union reform

    You can also just sell Maine to Provence or Brittany (you can get it back anytime later) to avoid the surrender event, and when it comes to war, destroy the forts in mainland Europe to avoid the French getting warscore more than 6-8%. If you're far enough from the French coast with your fleet, France sometimes lands troops on English land where you can stackwipe them easily. Make sure you don't blow up their transport ships.

    To all the people lamenting the Dutch revolt, it only lasts 20 years, and as long as all your provinces are below 90% autonomy (states or half states), all you have to do is beat up some rebel stacks for 20 years. It’s really not even that difficult.

  • @Lucasal1296

    what other formable would you even go for? both gb and the angevin empire have decent ideas, missions, and they inherit a big vassal for free. Forming the HRE would give claims all over europe but you dismantled it, culture changing to spanish or french would be a massive overkill, you're so far ahead their missions and government would add nothing.

    • @Tarkusarkusar
      @Tarkusarkusar  Рік тому

      Not sure where I'll go, but for me, it's not really about being powerful. I've already won, effectively, since I'm playing an overpowered great power. It's more about making the most fun tag switch, or doing something funny for my (and your) entertainment.
