I like it so far, but should have kept the tending pulley on there. I don't know that I'll be regularly choosing this over the RRP, it just doesn't tend the same.
I like the rope runner, but are these parts replaceable?, Now that I’ve tried the Unicender, I’ve pretty much laid to rest my rope runner pro, because it’s just not as user friendly in drt mode.
Nice improvements the only problem I have with my rope runner is it flattens the rope after about 2 descents. This made stopping a little less accurate. Maybe V shaped bollards would help keep the rope round.
I enjoy mine a lot. And thanks to the folks in Taiwan who actually produced the thing, If it had been made in the USA, it would be much more expensive and probably not last very long.
Cool device! I make my own prusiks from Ice Tail for ~$8 apiece. I keep 2-3 spares in the truck. Been climbing on hitches for 39 years. Guess I’ll stick to them.
Hey Nick, what are your thoughts regarding the binding due to Notch leaving out the lower pulley. I was just about to purchase the Vertec from you, but then I saw this video and frankly, this looks really bad: ua-cam.com/video/Hhd-_0irraU/v-deo.html Hopefully Notch addresses this issue because after seeing that, I'm holding off on my purchase.
@@mikesoultanian8050 it's fine in a relatively new X-static rope. But as I said the tending issue seems to be from lager carabiner types jamming in the attachment point not allowing the RRV to collapse.
@@333Paradigm333 did you watch the video I linked? As you can see the RRP has no issues on the same rope. While it's great that you found a work-around, I don't think it's a good look when you release a new product as an upgrade and it can't do everything the previous product could do. And if there are limitations on what carabiner or rope conditions you can use the device with/in, then they need to be up-front about that. Chances are they didn't anticipate this issue and I wouldn't be surprised if there was a recall on the early-production units.
It's literally no bigger than the RRP How are you configuring for ascent, aside from clipping it into your chest harness? Anything above it is completely unnecessary and a waste of energy. Your legs should be doing all the work in your ascent.
That looks to be the hot setup. For now I’m content with the singing tree rope wrench. It’s great to get your sale emails.

Is there a version with a pulley, like the original RRP?

Thats actually good to know so thanks for sharing!
@ Welcome buddy
The middle and lower bollards are stainless steel, and will never wear out... Get back to me on how long that uni lasts. 😆😂🤣😂😆
Sorry about the sniffling and weird voice!

That's a rope problem, not a device problem... What rope are you climbing on?
The instruction manual for the rope runner has a list of ropes approved for use. They do a very good job of hiding it too.
Do you need to have the foot ascender when climbing with the vertec?
SRS climbing is much easier with a foot ascender, in general.

Nobody cares how cheap and slow you are capable of being

I've got one, and no issue, but it looks like it is a problem with only some attachment carabiners
@@333Paradigm333how does your vertec compare to the RRP? Is it as smooth and are you using it on clean or dirty rope?

@mikesoultanian8050 fair enough, but why are you telling me about it? Shouldn't you be saying all that to Notch?
What’s up with the vest?
It's the new Chester DLX: www.treestuff.com/notch-chester-dlx/
The problem is, they still haven't changed the design of the rope runner, so that it will work with MRT
Just get a 3 point swivel on your bridge and you can use a moving rope system comfortably
It's really cool!
Very nice thanks.
Super fancy but quite a large package for a device. The length limits your options for ascent configs.

i think the buckingham throttle is going to be better
Notch makes sexy, shyt quality, short lived gear🤷
😆😂🤣😂😆
That's hilarious.
