The European Union's decision to impose higher tariffs on electric vehicles (EVs) from China is harmful to the European economy, according to Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Peter Szijjarto. China could impose tariffs on EU gas-powered Cars, in response to the EU’s tariff hike on Chinese EVs. Such a move would hurt European luxury automakers, as Chinese consumers might prefer domestic luxury brands that are sold at a lower price, said Tu Le, founder and managing director of Sino Auto Insights. How long can Europe keep up with the tariffs? Tariff is but a short term measure to keep the more competitive goods away while the domestic producers are catching up. Tariffs make imports more expensive, hence forcing consumers to buy local. However, sooner or latter. consumers would realize that they have been ripped off by the government and the local manufacturers. That means a revolt in the voting stations. Australia used to have an auto industry popped up by tariffs. Now it has none. Why? Because local manufacturers are becoming lazy and less innovative, relying on tariffs to keep them competitive. Australians walked away from the Holden and Ford, and went for the Japanese brands despite a higher price tag. Why? Because Japanese brands are better made, more reliable and economical. The EU is doing song and dance about Climate Change, yet is turning away from the practical means to achieve it, ie. EV. India can benefit from EV hugely. Chinese cities used to be dangerous to live in because of the smog. Now the skies are clear because of EV.

The Chinese government heavily subsidizes the EV makers. How can these companies like Xpeng continue to exist when they don’t make any profits? Who is keeping them afloat?
We no need cars. We need robotaxis. I would give up my car as soon as Bolt, Uber or Weimo will start using robotaxis. I pay the car, I have property tax on the car, parking lot, two insurances. Most of time my car is sitting still. But I have to maintain it periodically, change tires summer/winter. A lot of headaches. Hopefully, Tesla and Google will get done with autonomous driving. It is time to stop this madness with millions of cars on our streets.
I will continue to purchase gas vehicles even if Chinese cars cost $1,000 USD my Camry, my Scion, my tundra and my Tacoma will LAST longer than ANY Chinese EV OR any EV China can win this one, most Americans do not want EV.
High tariffs protect local manufacturers from foreign competition, giving them fewer incentives to innovate. Over time, they become very uncompetitive on the global market. That's what happened to Indian manufacturers, they can't compete globally and can only survive in India
It would be more credible if you just presented the facts. It is true that China subsidizes many of its industries but so does every other country. America has farm subsidies, has subsidized its carmakers in the past as well as many other industries. Nothing new to see here.

Why you didn't mentioned ,how western straggling because of tariff
We no need cars. We need robotaxis. I would give up my car as soon as Bolt, Uber or Weimo will start using robotaxis. I pay the car, I have property tax on the car, parking lot, two insurances. Most of time my car is sitting still. But I have to maintain it periodically, change tires summer/winter. A lot of headaches. Hopefully, Tesla and Google will get done with autonomous driving. It is time to stop this madness with millions of cars on our streets.
Tariff will not help, because local cars will became in demand and will become expensive,,😅😅😅😅
LetvEU order Chinese cars that way the EU will have to pay to bring in the ir orders.
I just clicked on the video curious about what she would say about China
Me too, I love her news on china even though it full of bias
I will continue to purchase gas vehicles even if Chinese cars cost $1,000 USD
my Camry, my Scion, my tundra and my Tacoma will LAST longer than ANY Chinese EV OR any EV
China can win this one, most Americans do not want EV.
Honda and Nissan are both deadwood lol this is their final nail on the coffin.
Correct!!!
Let's just keep petrol cars problem solved
I am very disappointed that India is so far behind China.
It's too late for others car manufacturers to catch up with China EV. All they can do is to cooperate with China. That's the win win mutual benefits.
巧了,日本丰田刚刚宣布在中国成立独资的汽车制造厂,聪明的,打不过就加入吧!
Ban EU car they will feel the pain
Nice what new in china happy Holidays
yeah I got it. Indian cars are getting popular right
She acts as if she is talking about india 😂😂😂 since she belongs to India
i can understand palki's troll on china as india is largest manufacturer of ev, hydropower, and other renewable energy. With economy of 18 trillion $😊
Thanks to bricks that India is boasting this add up to Chinese influence and power😅😅
Countries must unite agains China's bullying
What the Jpanese needs to do is to ship those kai cars around the world.
