    Isn’t that sensor on the bucket/dogbone going to get damaged?

      The sensors themselves are shockproof and waterproof, while being in a stainless steel bracket that is stuck to the machine via industrial grade 3M double sided tape. There is always a chance for damage, however in this case it's quite low.

    you didnt show where you set up the rotating laser

      Using a rotating laser is a function that the system has, not a requirement. You can "bench" (or zero) off of the cutting edge of the bucket, OR catch a rotating laser to "bench" (or zero).
