omg Im so sorry we didnt warn you about suho lmao ...see this is the thing...every member will bias wreck you at unexpected moments and in the end...your entire bias list will be a mess lol.thats why i gave up and accepted all of them as my biases hehe...its so unfortunate that jongin was not able to join them because of his ankle injury...but he performed lotto with them in their concert!!definitely check that out!

@@Rennari ah okay hehe i keep forgetting so many of their MVs gosh....and also i wanted to tell you that this video is where the story of monster starts...this is the first part of the story and monster is like the continuation even tho lotto mv was released later...if you watch this mv again and watch monster again you will see the connection.and i think theres a reason why they use autotune...its because those indicate their evil sides or X-EXO!!you will see this voice distortion at some parts in tempo too meaning X-EXO are slowly taking over!(dont worry its only some of their verses)

I always liked that Lotto's concept, as the repackage song for Lucky One and Monster, was literally the combination of the other two; it took Lucky One's theme of 'luck' but with the darkness of Monster~~~^.^
At first, I thought the girl was running *from* the wolves in the beginning of the MV, but one day I had a moment where I was like "maybe she's running away *with* the wolves from something, but gets captured?" (cause wolves usually = EXO members) making it up to EXO to hatch an infiltration & bust plan into this illegal gambling ring *BUT* when the raid happens the members get mistaken as part of the bad guys???

@@Rennari I think I read a musician commented somewhere that this is a generation of auto tunes. Like a trend? Anyway, I agree its a waste of talent if used unnecessarily. The only songs I know of EXO that has it is Lotto and Sehun's Go. For me its works well with the songs but.. not gonna lie, the live version of Lotto without auto tune is the best. ❤️
I hate auto tune too, but EXO said no, the live version fuck me up, and Lotto Baekhyun fuck me up.... don't worry about the original, you can add the EXOrDIUM dot or ElyXiOn live version into your playlist
it's okay that's everyone's reaction for the first time hahaha im used to autotune in hiphop songs so this song didnt make me feel uncomfy or sumn hehe they used that for style and so on but exo sang it in music shows without autotune plus, we already know how good exo vocals are so i dont mind if they used that. the song is very experimental and good too actually, but ppl always use this song to drag exo's vocal idk why
I don't like auto autotune at all as well and it took me a while to get used to lotto. I started liking it more during the live stages when they did not use autotune there. Some people's voice suit autotune and that's perfectly fine but for me, exo really did not need any. But it's a stylistic choice and it happened so we just gotta vibe with it. Your rant is so justifiable, thank you for it.

Fan theories believe that "Lotto" is the prequel to "Monster." "Monster" is from EXO's EX'Act album and "Lotto" is from their EX'Act repackaged album. So, to understand the story in "Lotto" and "Monster" you have to connect the two storylines. How I interpret things is that the story starts in "Lotto" as EXO goes undercover and works to take down the gambling ring, which is thought to probably be run by the Red Force, and now that we know about EXO's clones, from their "Obsession" storyline, maybe even X-EXO are involved.
You may have noticed that you don't see Kai dancing in the "Lotto" MV. Lay -- EXO-M's main dancer -- and Sehun -- one of EXO-K's main dancers -- are the dancers highlighted in "Lotto." Kai was injured during this time and couldn't dance.
Fun fact: In live performances at this time, Kai is absent when Lay is part of the performance because he is still recovering. However, when Kai is back performing the song, Lay was absent because he was busy doing solo activities in China.
You might also have noticed that in some live TV network performances of "Lotto" that they change the title of the song to "Louder" and the lyrics are changed to use the word louder instead of lotto as well. Gambling is illegal in Korea and it's one of those things that are banned from being talked about in mainstream media. So in order to make the song TV- and radio-friendly they had to change everything to "Louder."
I think the two stories in both "Lotto" and "Monster" actually overlap. I think both MVs take place in the same location and around the same time frame, and in each MV you see the members in different moments as they try to destroy everything to do with this gambling ring. You see them breaking everything in both MVs and you see them smash the car in "Lotto" and in "Monster" you see the car has now been set on fire, and they burn the money and other things in "Lotto" as well, etc.
At the end of "Lotto" you see the police or FBI have come in and are just starting to take the members into custody, but if you remember in "Monster" it shows all the members have now been arrested. So I see it as the fight starts in "Lotto" and continues in "Monster." At the end of "Monster" all the members were now in custody and Baekhyun rescues them as he releases them from the back of the police van allowing them to escape, etc.
The birds you see in the cage are roosters -- cock fighting roosters to be exact -- and they are another form of gambling. And the dogs are probably guard dogs like what criminal enterprises use as part of their security to deter someone from causing trouble or wanting to rob them, etc. The dogs are thought to be part of the Red Forces' security efforts. Don't worry, SM and EXO don't like animal cruelty either, that's the whole point they are trying to make. It's just another form of evil that comes with gambling.
Also, in the "Obsession" MV we see EXO are the members in all black and X-EXO are the members in the colorful outfits with the crazy makeup and hair. So, if you notice, in "Monster" the members are all in black for part of the MV (In "Monster" we also see EXO in black and red outfits, which we have now started to think is supposed to be X-EXO in those scenes because of the red on their outfits), and in "Lotto" they are pretty much in black or dark neutral colors, so that is why I think the story is being depicted from EXO's point of view.
So, in "Lotto" and "Monster" I think what we are watching are the EXO members trying to take down X-EXO and the Red Force and stop the evil and corruption that the Red Force is inflicting on the world which is depicted here as corruption through illegal gambling.
We are not really sure what the girl takes from Chanyeol at the end of "Lotto", but it definitely wasn't money. If you pay attention to the lyrics, one of the English lines is, "I don't need no money." That is why they burn the huge stack of cash. Most theories agree that the currency that EXO values the most is flowers. There is an overwhelming use of flowers in many of their MVs, and as you will see in "Love Shot," for example, they aren't collecting money but flowers. And in EXO-CBX's "Hey Mama" and "Blooming Day" and in EXO's "Love Me Right", etc. you see them with flowers.
My theory is that the girl is somehow connected to EXO's quest to find and protect the Tree of Life and that is why at the end of "Lotto" you see her secretly take something -- which if you pause the MV and zoom in, you will see looks like a small video tape -- to somehow help them in their quest. The video tape is thought to be the video that D.O. is filming with the camcorder in the middle of "Lotto." It's still unclear at this point how the girl fits in the storyline, but I think, or at least I hope, that in the future we will discover more about her and what significance she has within the story.
Some say the "girl" that EXO is always singing about and you sometimes see in their MVs -- like in "Lotto" -- is a manifestation of the heart of the Tree of Life and that is why the members are always rescuing or protecting the girl, etc. And why all their songs are about being in love with a girl or being controlled by the power of the girl, such as in "Overdose" for example. Or how they talk about knowing they are bad news for the girl but they want her anyway and they can't help it, but in the end they know they might destroy her -- as they say in "Monster," etc. etc. When you think of the girl as the heart of the Tree of Life the mystery begins to unfold even more.
It's been more than 4 years since "Lotto" came out and I have seen the MV dozens of times, and each time I watch it I still see something different and am still working to unravel more clues. But "Lotto" and "Monster" are the two EXO MVs that have me the most confused. And I am still struggling to really grasp the full story those MVs are trying to tell. I think part of the reason why I find these two MVs so confusing, is the fact that these MVs depart the most from the linear storyline and the story jumps back and forth between the two MVs so much that I struggle to put the events in order to really make a clear picture.

I'm really glad that you're honest because no one likes every song they hear and I think it makes it hard to trust a reactor when they have the same expression/comments for every single track and act as if each song is the best they've ever heard. I assume reactors who don't want to give a less than perfect review simply don't post the songs they don't like? Personally, I think that's a bit disingenuous too. I'd rather they be honest and say they weren't keen rather than pretend they haven't listened to it.
I've never been a fan of this song (although I prefer it to 'Lucky One'), which might well be because of the autotune, I've never thought about it before. However, I do love the visuals of the MV. I think the theory is that it takes place directly before 'Monster' so it fits somewhere into the concept but no idea where or how. Is it another one related to Alice in Wonderland? But now I come to think about it, I've always enjoyed the live performance from EXO Planet 4: Elyxion, which is linked to CBX's 'Ka-Ching' so . . . I really loved the colour of Suho's hair in those live performances but my eyes were drawn (as is ever the case) to Xiumin and D.O., although Lay was definitely trying real hard to bias wreck me. He's a real menace.

His solo debut just showed that he’s a true talented performer also Suho wrote all the songs in the album and he wrote the songs Let's Love, Made In You for EXO-Ls and he gave the title his main song "Saranghaja (Let's Love)" the slogan of EXO👌 His whole album just amazing👍
I agree with you on this. I can live with auto tune if it's used lightly or just in the intro to set a mood. But when it's this heavy I can't hear their voices. I think I would like the song if not for how much the voices are altered. The beat is good and the music is catchy but the heavy auto tune spoils it for me

I freaking love these sessions with you - Watching the mv, lyrics, and dance practice/live stages ! About the auto tune thing, I don't mind it much if overall the song is good like Lotto, but it did bother me a bit too 😅. But I know a lot of people hate it, and honestly everyone is entitled to have an opinion, so those who say bad words to you because they only want to hear good stuffs can suck it up - you do you ! We want honest reactions from reactors, and you give us that, and we know just not loving one song doesn't mean you hate a group, we know you love Exo, and those who have problem with your honest views can just leave !

That's why I love their live performances!!! Even though I don't mind autotune here, maybe only a few parts. But I just want to point out that when songs are hinting their evil sides or bad behaviors, they use a lot of voice effects and modifications?? If that's how it's called hahah
I believe, as you can see in the MV, their bad characters took control of them?? They became corrupted and cocky and autotune is perfect to demonstrate it. When I hear autotune, I immediately think of clubs, just like you said. I would also describe it as crazy "mafia" stuff 😆

But keep this in mind when you watch Tempo, they are investigating each other too and be aware of voice modifications as well ;)
As in bad behaviors, I mean they are battling with the evil side of them, they become more "human" (flawed) and they forget abt their main purpose of restoring the tree of life and helping people. ( Keep this in mind when watching Ko ko bop - they just become carefree).
Lotto was released in the same era as Lucky one and Monster. If you remember, at the end of the Lucky one MV you can see they are actually kept in a maze, the same as Overdose. Inside of that maze those androids experimented on them and maybe that's how they started the internal battle of good and evil inside of them. But that's my theory 😅 Or that's how the red force/villain got their hands on EXO's powers they had to collect again in Power Mv.
Other examples for such behaviors; Wolf, Monster (lyrics) or Obsession. All of them have some kind of voice effects as well ;)
Another possibility is that in those cases we're actually looking at X-EXO/evil side. But these are just different theories :)
Okay, I actually forgot there's money involved in Love shot and the obvious - guns 😅😆 But it's still not really the vibe I personally get from Lotto or Wolf. They look more conscious and like themselves, they don't seem possesed like in Lotto. But I might be totally wrong so I only encourage you to think of your own theories :) It's honestly so much fun 😊

Luckily EXO have live albums for their concerts so you can easily listen to the auto-tune free version of the song if you want (I'm with you on the autotune thing btw). Also, if you didn't know, Monster was the last OT9 stage we never got one for Lotto due to Jongin's injury

I think they experimented in using auto-tune on this song as well as the mv because of the bird-fighting and turned out that some fans doesn't like it. Totally understand the rant because this is exo and we're not used of them using auto-tune because of their great vocals. I don't like this song when I first heard this but it just grew up on me.

It's funny bcus they actually have an autotune oriented song as well way back in 2013 with Heart Attack. Only one song yes but still, not a completely new thing for them. Only this time it's in the title track instead of a b-side.

Up to this this we're not yet blessed with OT9 Lotto. They all look extra good in this era, it's one of my facr looks on then. Too bad Kai is inactive during lotto.
I had to get used to this and it actually took me a while too. Now I don't mind the autotune and it really fits with the vibe of the MV so I understand the choice. It could be a bit less though.
I don't understand why people watch reactions if they don't want honest opinions. Do they only want to see good reviews? Do they always like every song they listen to at first? It's normal that there will be songs you don't vibe with and if you are respectful with expressing your thoughts then there shouldn't be a problem. People that find a problem with that should move on to the reactors that just headbop to every song they listen to, say that it's their fav and finish the reaction to a 4 minute MV in 5 minutes and won't even remember that they ever heard the song if they ever come across it again :)
If this Suho is your problem, then girl... Obsession Suho... Ko Ko Bop is a totally different vibe, the visuals are amazing, but they don't have this kind of feel so I think you may be safe from the leader there.

I actually had a sneaking suspicion you weren't going to like this song for the very reason you don't care for it! I guess that means I have picked up on your preferences. Lotto isn't my favorite song, by a long shot. Nor my favorite title track...by a long shot. I enjoy it, but I have to be in the right mood for it. The autotune was a definite stylistic change for EXO, which I think really polarized people's feelings about it. But it wouldn't be EXO if they weren't pushing the boundaries. Frankly, I am glad that you are honest when you don't like something. You were nothing but respectful with your opinions, so anyone that comes for you in the comments can fight me! There are plenty of fake reactors that just LOVE everything they watch. I prefer knowing that when you like/love a song, that you REALLY love it. I think your channel and reactions are great, just as is. I do love this MV though, and the live stages. They all looked so GOOD in Lotto era!!!!! Honestly, listening to the Lotto version from the live albums has saved the day, it's such a vibe I love it and I do appreciate they at least tried as you said, experimentally they at least did it for the right type of song, instead of just arbitrarily!
