  • The Most Expensive $900 Cordless DA Polisher | MIRKA AROP-B 3 INCH. Is this the best cordless polisher you can buy? Is it worth the money? Come along as I show you the features and quality of this new mega expensive cordless DA tool I added to my shop. To order one of these visit ObsessedGarage.com.
    DETAILS:
    Mirka 3" Cordless Angled Random Orbital 12mm Polisher Kit with 5.0Ah Battery (AROP312-B) is light, nimble and ergonomic - perfect for polishing small areas. Ideal for professionals who appreciate the freedom of movement and low maintenance of a cordless polisher.
    Cordless polishers are more energy efficient than pneumatic tools. They do not require oiling, which removes the risk of contamination. The Mirka ARP300-B features a 12mm random orbit, brushless motor and variable speed on the trigger so you get full control of the polishing process without risk of splashing or burning the surface.
    Bluetooth connectivity offers additional features via the myMirka app, such as vibration measurement, RPM range management and auto-stop function.
    The kit includes intelligent charging high capacity 5Ah 10.8V Li-ion battery, charger, power cord, 3" (77mm) grip backing pad and pad changing wrench. Additional 2.5Ah and 5.0Ah 10.8V Li-ion batteries are available to buy separately.

    For anyone watching this video the complete Mirka Polisher DA Polisher with 3 batteries is for sale at a great discount in our web store at www.auto-fanatic.com Love the machine but prefer if it had a trigger on the topside for comfort for my preferences.

      So now you like the polish slinging topside trigger of the rules? Haha, I don’t blame you. Mirka def has quality going for it but too much money for a bunch of little quirks I don’t care for. On another note…I know you do a lot with forced rotation. Have you tested or have any insight on the Dynabrade DB8 forced rotation polisher? There’s not much quality info out there about it yet besides the videos from dynabrade, p&s etc but obv they’re going to be a bit biased. It looks like quality machine, comes with 5” and 6” bp’s, and it even spins the right way lol. I know that part doesn’t necessarily matter. Curious what your thoughts are. Good content as always! Thanks!

      Maybe there's no trigger lock as a safety, because if there was, people would zone out from the peaceful hum only to snap out realizing they've gone through the clear@@autofanaticcars

      Ive been using the high end Mirka stuff since 2012 their stuff is indestructible for continuous shop use. How do you like not having a trigger lock on the DA? Im still getting use to that with this machine.

    OT : Is it possible to fix stone chips with a polisher?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  5 місяців тому

      if you fill in the chips professionally with paint, clear coat, color sand and buff yes but this is not a simple DIY and required professional work.

    Boy that motor sounds quiet I know I’ve been watching Matt on this unit, I wonder if they make a forced rotation unit.

    The Rupes nano uses a similar battery (although 2.0 mah) and charger. If you own that machine you could technically just buy the Mirka tool and use the Rupes battery and charger.

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  3 місяці тому

      I don’t think thats a good idea to try a Rupes battery on the Mirka as you can short the machine out and void warranty

    • @DrCeramicDallas
      @DrCeramicDallas 3 місяці тому

      @@autofanaticcarsI don’t see how that could happen. Can you elaborate more? As far as I can see, they are the same exact batteries. You cannot short a battery when the voltage is the same. Both batteries use 10.8 volts in the same exact shell. (You will need to remove the backing clip-on cover) Mirka is 2.5 ah and Rupes is 2.0 ah. This just means the Rupes will last a little less.
      As far as the charger goes, same exact charger if used to charge the 2.5 ah battery. (Will charge the 5.0 ah too but slower)

    • @XL_BEAR

      Not possible as to only use two batteries or not possible to use this polisher to do the whole car (with batteries recharging in between swaps)?
      I’m looking to buy one polisher (enthusiast) as to do it all. I know that most would point to 5” ones. But for occasional use, small format and portable - rechargeable one - to work on mini cooper and Honda civic, would this be enough?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  3 місяці тому +1

      from professional shop experience if you want a small DA that you can use to do an entire car and I have done cars on site for clients at our car club get the RUPES HLR75 kit for around $400 which comes with two high capacity batteries then order the Plug in power inverter for another $99 which makes the unit usable for hours and hours without an issue plugged into an extension cord. with the two batteries that come in the RUPES kit they have a great capacity and two batteries can do most mid to small size cars if your working on a truck or larger SUV you will need to charge one battery and use 3 for the entire project but the power inverter is awesome I use it regularly even on my Ibrid Nano and i torture my machines and they keep going and going for me. The Mirka is a great machine but it might not give you what your looking for it seems and it is very expensive. I wish Mirka offered a power inverter to plug the unit in and maybe more options for batteries but they do not.

    Is not having a trigger lock an issue for you?

    • @autofanaticcars
      @autofanaticcars  5 місяців тому +1

      i have been using this Mirka daily and getting used to it but i honestly do wish it had a trigger lock as for me it would be more comfortable to use.The 2.5 batteries are way lighter and easier to get the machine in tight confines so I have been using the smaller batteries mostly these days. I personally love how the Rupes HLR75 actuates but that machine needs the trigger to lock as well so you do not accidentally spray yourself in the face. Time will tell on my verdict on the Mirka Cordless if I feel I start going back to using my RUPES HLR75 more often then I guess I would sell the Mirka and go back to how I was doing my work prior.

    The smoother the weaker maybe? In my case we work mostly Rv's. I'm sure that polisher doesn't do better than Makita or Milwaukee cordless random polisher specially the Makita with dual action random and forced rotation 500 bucks cheaper

    Besides having no trigger lock, the price and the fact that you can achieve the same results with a much less expensive tool I would never want to spend my money with a company that scams their customers in order to profit by running illegal lottery’s disguised as a “giveaway”. It’s surprising that nobody takes the time to read the rules.

      highly unlikely we will see a drastic price drop as these European brands really do not focus on the US market as priority. If so that would be great if they could get this way lower to compete with the Rupes Ibrid line up

      Mirka designed this tool years back and they mainly cater to industrial and professional users so i guess they felt it wasn’t needed. I agree i wish it had one and a trigger lock it seems no matter what you spend no company will ever hit every target towards perfection
