All the ballet music is on the cd with the exception of the first 3 minutes and 15 seconds of this segment. For some reason it's not included, probably to keep the cd around 74 mins. But I agree that it should have been added- it's all the music that accompanies the passage with Jud's "pin-up" girls. I love the part where Laurey joins the kick line for just a brief few seconds of decadent joy only to realize that she's losing her mind! I like the original staging with the substitute counterpart dancers for Laurey and Curley, but I applaud this production for using the real actors in the dream- both versions work well for different reasons. And the new choreography and orchestrations are bold and innovative.
I watched this with my Broadway 101 class in 7th grade, and when Curly kicked Jud in the crotch, the entire class yelled "Ouch!" at the exact same time. And the boys were all chanting "End him!" throughout the entire fight scene. Memories.🤣🤣
not sure why modern revivals are so quick to cut the original Agnes de Mille choreography and replace it with weaker imitations. The de Mille original was revolutionary and contributed to the great success of the musical - no one had ever seen anything like it before. No one would think of staging a revival without the Rodgers and Hammerstein score, why should the choreography be any different? I think the 1979 revival might have been the last time it was used.
The original choreography is very beautiful but it’s dated. You can’t compare the written work to the staging, they are different animals. The choreography is not the piece

The Hugh Jackman flexed his forearm, bared his wolverine claws, and cut Jeb in two.
Jud?
lol the music at 5:00 is where Jud starts choking Our curley.
6:56 The most epic and suspenseful end of Act I I have ever seen!
Laurey's cry at 4:20..... Poor thing. a creepy hardhand killed the man she loves.
Jud had no accountability. If he had a mentor in his life, he would have learned from right to wrong
The sexy-times girls are a dream reference to Jud's spicy pinup girls. (Also a modern wink and nod to Bob Fosse's "Cabaret.")
They aren't a wink to Cabaret in the least. Sexy girls were dancing on chairs long before the 1920s
Erm yes, exactly what was I was saying 🤦🏻♂️
Geeze!! At 3:39 Curly kicked Jud in the weener

At 3:13, Jud is all like ''Don't fuck with me, you smart Alec cowhand who thinks you're you're better than me"
This music during this scene is not on the cd. Do you know where they got it from?
They wrote it...

Anyone know where I can find the 1955 Oklahoma version of the dream sequence on UA-cam?

Is Ado Annie in this scene?
Yes. she's one of the bridesmaids in the ballet. so is Will parker
I think she's in Part 1 of the Dream Ballet, when Laurey marries Curly. I think she's the maid of honor. She's not in Part 2.
They should've gotten a different chick at 1:17, someone who could raise her leg straight up. That's my only gripe with this ballet.
I think it's pretty clear that the choreographers intent was not to be 'pretty' the angle at which the leg is held is entirely intentional
I think the original DeMille choreography (and the music, probably by Trude Ritman) is superior to this. ua-cam.com/video/2D1loAVwiMc/v-deo.html
Who created this score?
