Thanks for making this great video! The Gotoh bridge sounds absolutely amazing! Your video made me really tempted to get one like yours. I searched their website and found that they offer steel, brass and res-o-lite saddles. May I know which material you chose?

Wow there really is a difference in tone between Bridges, the bridge can make a difference, I definitely like the first one, and I have a hipshot a brass that I'm very happy with but it's definitely not as bright as the badass Bridge

I love the fender 60's , I've been always a huge fan of high mass bridge but in this case I like better the 60's

What an amazing work you've done with all your videos on hardware components comparison, especially pickups comparison videos, so a big thanks to you man. Such a great surprise to discover how awesome the Gotoh bridge I'm about to receive sounds!! I've been waiting for the damn thing for almost 3 weeks now and watching the sound test result really shows I've made the right decision. There's no frickin' point buying a 160+$ discontinued badass bridge if you can get awesome results (arguably better even) with a 50$ bridge. If anyone is considering the Badass bridge II anyway I suggest you take a look at the KSM foundation bridge instead. You'll actually get what you pay for technology wise, if an ultra high end bridge is what you're looking for. Cheers!

      bass basic
I just received it this afternoon and I've installed it :) The sound resolution it added to the trebles is absolutely AMAZING, and it's an amazing piece of hardware, ESPECIALLY for the money. The only disadvantage that I found to it, compared to the original vintage bridge that came with my Fender Japan Jazz 66' reissue is the fact that the string spacing is considerably tighter now and the strings are no longer perfectly aligned with the pickup magnets. I'm not sure of the effect of that on the sound, but it is what it is!
I'm confident I will get used to the tighter string spacing as I do have fairly slim fingers and it definitely has its advantages when playing finger style and skipping strings quickly. However IF someone considering this bridge was a pure slap player with chunky fingers I would definitely NOT recommend this bridge to that person.

Cool man! glad you enjoy your purchase :). People have NO IDEA of how big the impact of the bridge is on their bass tone until they get to experience it for themselves! After a while of playing with the Gotoh I have to say that the tighter spacing has actually improved my playing experience and I fully embrace this spacing now as a clear upgrade, although again I do have slim fingers and it would clearly be limiting if I did have chunky fingers. I'm playing with light gauge 40-100 DR Nickel Lo-Rider strings (hex core) and I'm absolutely floored by the extent of the improvement of my tone and the feel of my bass after coupling these 2 components together. Their low tension make up for an unbelievably comfortable feel when playing slap coupled with the Gotoh string spacing, perfect for easy double thumbing and all sorts of triplets.
As far as the tone is concerned, listening to the video again coupled with my playing experience with the Gotoh really reinforced the impression I have that the Gotoh sounds to me like THE one bridge in this video that provides the most vibrant piano-like tone (harmonics) of all the bridges tested, even above the badass (the Gotoh to me sounds audibly fuller than the badass), which is exactly what I was hoping for to begin with.
This being said I realize it may not be what everybody is necessarily looking for tone wise as I have extremely limited experience with high end bridges. I considered the Babicz bridge but after auditioning it vs a Badass bridge in another youtube video I wasn't convinced at all by what it did to the harmonics so I let go of the idea, especially considering the price. I have to say I'm really curious about the KSM foundation bridge at this point, but I just can't justify buying one, especially with the current USD to CAD currency conversion rate. Peace!

I just realized that in the video the bridge he's using is the higher end version of the one I actually bought which is this one (they're essentially the same design for the most part though):
