1974 திண்டுக்கல் இடை தேர்தல்லில் A.D.M.K இல் போட்டியிட்ட மாயதேவர் என்பவருக்கு சுயேச்சை சின்னம் இரட்டை இலை சின்னம் ஒதுக்கப்பட்டது. பின்னர் M.G.R தலைமை தேர்தல் ஆணையத்தில் M.G.R முறைப்படி விண்ணப்பித்து இரட்டை இலை சின்னம் பெற்று 1977 தேர்தலில் போட்டியிட்டு வெற்றி பெற்றார்.
