Quit knocking down jumps, whoops & dragonbacks. This isn't NASCAR - quit trying to be an equalizer. Let the superior riders stand out and do what it takes to beat the others. And while we're at it, get rid of the start grates. Maybe even the starting devices. Let the talent stand out. Those that want to risk it should be able to risk it.

Maybe. More importantly, if Jett wouldn’t have believed he was invincible, he would have realized traffic control didn’t clear him for takeoff.
@@Papparratzi it's got nothing to do with invincibility (what a disgusting thing to say about someone). He was making that jump through qualifying. it's only because they changed the track between qualifying and moto 1 that he crashed. Jett just did what he did in qualifying not knowing he had been set up to fail.
Notice the landing between ruts in the soft dirt. Slowed the bike so quick Jett lost balance and it was over.
That’s absolutely wild that they could practice on it and guys are always pushing for time every inch of the track and then they change it after they get used to it. The guys singling, it didn’t make a difference. They did it in the name of “safety “ and it caused someone to get hurt because they practiced on it the way it was then expected to just change it. I get it top tier guys can do it and Jett messed up but it’s still shady that they did it. Like come on
@@superzuki8222they literally told jett they are cutting down the jump for safety, and then he still went for it. Its on jett
yes it was essential to take out the advantage Jetts skill gave him so he couldn't go 25-0. isn't this sport about managing the risk to do something someone else cannot for the win.
@11:35 “at least we are not going to see another 22-0” I seriously don’t get this sentiment that witnessing something so rare in the sport it’s only happened a handful of times is a “bad” or “boring” thing. It’s history. And why are we removing the means for which the rider capable of it can go the next level to beat his competitors? If riders weren’t comfortable jumping it, then don’t. Taking risks to gain advantage is fundamentally what this sport is about
Jet was willing to push the speed to the point that he could dbl what most were only single
Because he was willing to risk the speed he was sitting on the posable 25th. With risk comes reward. With risk sometimes costs more than the reward.
That is racing.
Simply a racer pushing the edge of ability and speed.
Watch out Jett for future track changes when you are the fastest! The decision makers want closer races!
It makes no sense that they would change that section because Jett was the only one jumping it. So what are they doing, have practice and qualifying and then have some teams cry foul, because their riders aren’t willing to go for it like Jett. And you change it up? BS explanation, so KTM complains and KTM wins.
Thing is, they showed Jett doing his sight lap at a turtle pace. He definitely rolled over that jump before he tried to hit it again.

It makes sense b/c if your wide open down hill and come to a turn like that its a risk of losing balance and blowing out to the back side. which is near 20'. ive seen riders life flighted off the track.

Absolute spastic move to change the track like that. Sounds like the other riders were just having a sook cos jett was making them look stupid through that section. Also Seems to me they want to close the racing up an not let anyone have an advantage for being simply better..

Of course ktm is gonna say something because there guy was loosing a second lap. You can’t please everyone, leave the tracks alone and let the riders create their own lines!
First, he wasnt on his toes to absorb the landing. Secondly, Davey, High Point was the leader in downhill doubles after the tunnel jump at the top of the hill, starting 1985. In fact a series of doubles.
It makes no sense that Jett rolled around for a sight lap and didn’t see that the track was changed. He clearly miscalculated the jump.
Did he actually roll over this section after it was changed?
Yes - he would have seen the changes on the sight lap.
The real problem is that the track change wasnt announced to all the riders. They had just got done memorizing a certain layout for hours

Davey coombs does this all the time. Did it with that jump out of the tunnel at iron man that dean Wilson was jumping sort of over. Hes on here deflecting.

James "Bubba" Stewart made a career out of creative lines and jumping stuff on the track that was impossible for the rest of the field. I guess men were men in those days. Now it's a bunch of 🐱's

Both Supercross and motocross are changi ng. Hope the changes do not become so extreme, the sport loses its exciting appeal .Tough sport!
Did I misunderstand?.. They changed the track and then they didn't get to take a lap... I pray, that's not what happened.
