Good song, I finally ran into it after 3 years. I love being Hmong, and I'm glad that our people is evolving everyday and getting noticed around the world.
Ignorance will never go away. Hate will only grow more hate. Let's all move forward and not backward..Those that hate usually do not understand or are afraid..Those that discriminate against others are simply afraid of themselves. The world is changing one day at a time. Every group of people will have the opportunity to change, learn, be educated, stand up, vote, and simply live as the please. I am HMONG, I do not hate those that hate me, but yet I feel sorry for them and at the same time I wish them well.
+LoGan LoDhaseng Very well literally chapters & verses, however opportunities or chances are not come in through as each individual expects & hopes sir...hate, discriminate, bias is human nature: as families, friends and races. Even we hate ourselves as much more then others....
Nuksisloob Loojtuam, you have a very good explanation. I agree with you. Most of the Hmong here in the USA are not educated about their ethnic, which is sad. Just because they are born in the USA, they think they are a different race and/or did not grow up with any experiences with Hmong culture. Those people irritates me!
y'all need to calm down. Can we just enjoy this music why must we make it debate over who we are. Lets just love our similarities and difference. And whether or not we are the same, lets learn and embrace each other okay?
You got so many good stuffs in your channels. Will take months to watch all. This video is so Beautiful! I'm in love with this song. Listen many times already. Thanks for the subtitle.
The Miao name was used by the Han Chinese for all other ethnic minority that were not Chinese. There were many groups called by that name. The hmong were one of those groups. So a hmong is called maio but not all maio are hmong.
Yeah, the Han Chinese have a habit of using the word Miao to describe various ethnic groups they encounter through history. Some Miao sub-groups are officially considered related to our Hmong group as historians are able to found many similarities between the groups. However, the rest of the Miao sub-groups have an varying degree of relationship from somewhat related to having no connection at all.
***** Actually, it's the other way around. The Miao Nationality today came to form due to cultural similarities. Only few Miao groups like the Cao Miao and so forth may speak a different language, but their own history indicated that they are Miao in origin.
Miao and Hmong are the same. The Hmong/Miao are very diverse in language and clothing, but they have one thing in common - the qeej/lusheng/reeded bamboo piped instrument. Other Chinese ethnic group has their own variation of the qeej, but for the Hmong/Miao it is a very significant because it is the instrument that represents them as a whole. And the Chinese don't clump other minority group as Miao, they called the Mien as the Pan Yao ethnic group, the Thai in China as the Dai ethnic group, and so on so forth.
Yes, there's a reason why all Miao are under one today in China. During CCP, all non-Miao that were classified under Miao were re-classified because their traditions, languages, rites, history did not match the ancient Miao. In the book of Huainanzi, it states that the Ancient Three Miao people bind their heads with hemp and wore hemp clothes. Guess what? The Miao people today still wear hemp and bind their heads with hemp.
Other majority discriminate against Hmong is true. Even being Hmong, Hmong still discriminate and segregate against Hmong as white Hmong and green Hmong. I don't see no white Hmong and no green Hmong, but I do see Hmoob hnaav tab dlawb and Hmoob hnaav tab ntsuab. The true is no white Hmong and no green Hmong. We all belong to one name Hmong. And we do belong to the yellow race. Correct me, if I'm wrong.
Seriously people! You can accept that label they give us "yellow" But that's all that is! Just a label they decided to give us! We Don't have to accept such labels from them Our ppl R either fair skin or have tan, or brown skin or darker skin
+Chris LOSKA Thanks for interesting our culture. You could ask the gentleman "niam txiv" who put this VD here. Also, you could type "HMONGWORLD" on youtub and ask these two gentlemen, they could help you more. I was born in Thailand and raised in the U.S.A. I don't know my culture well. Thank you.

Yawns....go to China and do an ethnography of the Miao and Hmong to validate your claim.
