According to some people, you can't make solo instrumental music, if you're in a band. The band is the only thing that exists to them, you can't be free to make your own music without your band, you'll make them look bad, or something like that. I think that kind of mentality is a crock of shit. I think an artist should be free to make what ever fucking art he wants, and if a certain band isn't fulfilling his needs then he should move on and do what he feels best, rather than hold himself or others back. I love Feared and everything you do Ola, keep up the fucking awesome work.
I am stunned every time I listen to this, Ola. What a fucking incredible masterpiece. I know every note by heart... The Chopins, Mozarts, and even Rachmaninoffs of musical history would totally give you the nod for this. It's a brilliant composition, and such a fucking pleasure to experience. Thank you.
I listened to this, twice, this evening when I was walking back home from work.... It was raining the whole way.... The rain was very... progressive.... Thanks for the great music for these past few years!
I put this song on and my dog immediatelly lift her head up, and ran up to me. She tilted her head a couple of times and decided to sit infront of the speaker with eyes closed for first few minutes of the song! Even animals think that this is the shit Ola. Please make more.
I had to sign in to UA-cam (something I rarely do). Just to comment again how much I love this track. DEMO? MY FUCKING ARSE! This is beautiful and amazing and just all over awesome! \m/
Well production-wise it's definitely not yet record-level, just as Ola said in the description. If you have some decent experience of music production you'll know a project like this takes a HUUUUUUUGE amount of time and effort to make it sound good.
Ola, I'm a long-time listener to your music. I could spend hours trying to put together words that embody my appreciation for this piece, but I'll just say this is one of my all time favorite songs. Thank you for your creativity and spirit!
"But as of right now I don't feel I have the production/mixing skills to take on a project like this so I feel that when I end up with doing a full album I would need to hire someone to do it." Maybe Devin? Or, if you wanted to give an 'up & coming' a shot at some of it, Drewsif Stalin? Just uneducated thoughts. Either way, PLEASE give more of this to the masses. The sooner, the sooner. I am absolutely in love with this beautiful creation.
A huge fan of Ola's work and this just adds to my HUGE list of "things to be jealous of Ola and the stuff he puts out" An album full of this would melt my face and my brain
Lol! I wouldn't go that far, that's a strong statement sir. Akerfeldt has a long established history and Ola takes a lot of influence from the master himself. I can hear the influence but much of this is Ola's own - we don't want a "new Akerfeldt", we want a "new Ola".
Oh it absolutely is. For the record I think that was an awesome direction and support Akerfeldt 100% - it makes a lot of sense if you truly understand where he comes from and what Opeth stands for. But I'm really excited for this, especially considering it feels like it's in grassroots. Really excited to be able to see the start of this.
I was wondering why people were constantly asking you (Ola) about this project... Now I know why, I've got goosebumps all over my arms. This is amazing.
Holy shit...the thought of Devin over the top of this, mind blown. I know Devin isn't really one for collaborating but I think he'd be great for this. OLA DO IT.
My favorite guitarist ever makes a prog rock song. My life is awesome. Ola you just keep getting better and better. I would buy this in a matter of seconds. Great job, hope the full album comes soon!
I've been following since your old demos not quite a fan of your music but Im a great fan of your guitar tone, but hearing this made me a complete fan of yours. Imo youre more effective and liberating to listen in this kind of music compare to the other stuff that you make. Keep doing this kind of music man.
This is some of the best music I've heard for a long time. I suspect that you don't need "Feared" at all (unless that's really just you in disguise) to be a success. Much better than the death metal stuff you do (not saying it's crap, just that this is MUCH better). Step into the light Ola.
Hits like a sledgehammer made of clouds, enchanted with brutality & emotion at the same time. Just like an amp's, this is the sweetspot for my taste of music. Epic job bro!
From 4:54 to 5:58 . I don't know what you were feeling when you find this, or may be you just liked the feel of the tune, anyways it makes me feel like a man who has the chance to be born again hopefully. It's awesome , whole song is awesome. Thank you Ola.
Oh the memories....remember when i used to go to college listening to this masterpiece. It has such a catchy theme, and the acoustic guitar at the beginning lays down a perfect atmosphere. Hell, thats better than Dream Theater !
Definitely liking the Opeth vibes going on- really cool atmosphere added as well- Almost Devin Townsend-y at times. Really like it- Perhaps a bit longer than necessary, but really great. MAKE MORE!! :)
Amazing Ola! I have listened to this track non-stop since the release! It's a new side of you, that you should keep on showing to us.I will donate as much money as I can to this project. I can't wait for more prog from you! I've never been as much inspired as now! Peace!
Hey Ola, it sure is humbling to hear you play, your arrangements and your comments. I'm in a number of bands too as a drummer and I'm taking on a solo album, Drums, Guitar, Vocals, songwriting, engineering, mixing, and mastering, just to see how far my own skills take me. I certainly know they are below yours. You are helping set the example to strive for excellence. Thanks for being our there and being cool. Cheers bud.
Really nice song Ola! I discovered your UA-cam channel recently (4-5 weeks ago) and am devouring your playlist right now. Great fun! Thanks for being so active and entertaining.
Came back just to check how similar is this compared to the final version. Not surprised to see it's pretty much the same thing, cause it was already great.
"...right now I don't feel I have the production/mixing skills to take on a project like this..." Are you kidding me? Just about every "professional" producer I know could learn a lot from you. At least, that's my opinion based on what I've heard from hearing a couple hundred of your videos.
You're a great musician and producer Ola, feared and the new the haunted songs are really really great, but this? This is more than I expected, this is amazing! Congrats Ola!
Ola, Dear Ola! I'm very happy to hear that music right now! What you've done seem to be perfect, melodic, A MUSIC, that's like full of love, of delight. I know there're canons of heavymetal lyrics and music, and i'm a big fan of your's heavy, but still... i'm missing that melodic but a bit heavy stuff, and i'd like to hear more similar compositions from you. Thank you a lot for that song, i love it =)
the production on all your stuff is great...it's like you give the music space to breathe, yet it's tight as fuck. This sounds like the real deal to me
I was wandering why you chose SH-1 and SH-14 to your new signature guitar. These pickups have totally different tone and temper than pickups you're used before like SH-6. Now I know the answer. This is the answer. Great job Ola!

Truest words ever spoken right there.
I personally don't think you need to hire someone if you produced/mixed this yourself, this is brilliant.
Thank you.
Thanks man I really appreciate it!
Beautiful.
I was just going to post the same comment. You beat me to it.
I was going to... ah... You just took the words from the tip of my fingers!
i would love to hear more music like this from u ola!
i prefer this ola than feared. much more better.
Well I like both because there are two different types of ola the sweede and there both incredible and sick.
I love anything instrumental. Love when there is no vocals
I listened to this, twice, this evening when I was walking back home from work.... It was raining the whole way....
The rain was very... progressive....
Thanks for the great music for these past few years!
Every time i hear Ola playing , i just want to grab my guitar and start recording ! this inspires me a lot
Where's part 2 already ,This needs a sequel !!!
5 years later it exists lol
I put this song on and my dog immediatelly lift her head up, and ran up to me. She tilted her head a couple of times and decided to sit infront of the speaker with eyes closed for first few minutes of the song! Even animals think that this is the shit Ola. Please make more.
This is AMAZING!!!! I prefer it to your straight metal stuff. Loads of ideas, layers, textures, moods. GENIUS Ola!
Hey Ola ! It's been a year and I keep coming back to this. I hope Solar part two is in the works ! Your work is really outstanding !
WHERE IS PART 2!!!??? THIS A FREAKING MASTERPIECE AND WE NEED MORE
did you find it?
I had to sign in to UA-cam (something I rarely do). Just to comment again how much I love this track.
DEMO? MY FUCKING ARSE! This is beautiful and amazing and just all over awesome! \m/
Thanks man
+Ola Englund had it been on itunes store perhaps?
Well production-wise it's definitely not yet record-level, just as Ola said in the description. If you have some decent experience of music production you'll know a project like this takes a HUUUUUUUGE amount of time and effort to make it sound good.

Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees...let Devin Townsend do it! And some vox! Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit that'd be sick as FUCK!!
A huge fan of Ola's work and this just adds to my HUGE list of "things to be jealous of Ola and the stuff he puts out"
An album full of this would melt my face and my brain
That awkward moment when another Swede out-Åkerfeldts Åkerfeldt
Lol!
I wouldn't go that far, that's a strong statement sir. Akerfeldt has a long established history and Ola takes a lot of influence from the master himself. I can hear the influence but much of this is Ola's own - we don't want a "new Akerfeldt", we want a "new Ola".
I know WybjornVR I jest, but you gotta admit this is pretty awesome stuff in the vein of older Opeth before they went full 70s prog on us.

DevOla Townglund?
Imagine his vocals on this
Holy shit...the thought of Devin over the top of this, mind blown.
I know Devin isn't really one for collaborating but I think he'd be great for this. OLA DO IT.
More like Olakael Engunldfeldt
I think this music is magical, i do feel every note played here. Perfection for my ears.
My favorite guitarist ever makes a prog rock song. My life is awesome. Ola you just keep getting better and better. I would buy this in a matter of seconds. Great job, hope the full album comes soon!
Totally awesome. You REALLY should record a full-lenght! I'd like to hear more.

Imo youre more effective and liberating to listen in this kind of music compare to the other stuff that you make. Keep doing this kind of music man.
Please tell me there is more of this. It is mesmerizing, truly.

do not stop never to amaze me
Aside from the fact that this is a masterpiece, I think that there is nothing more to say.........Beautiful !!!!!
You're such an inspiration to me, Ola. May you get the best out of music.
I bet you already are.
Ola, this is an amazing piece from start to finish, you encourage me to play more than ever!
For God's sake, Ola please make a full album of this ! As a fan of Opeth, I can only dig your new stuff !
This is so beautiful and inspiring! I can't wait to hear the rest, if there will ever be one!
Fuck yes! Prog from Ola! This is what I've been waiting for!! :D
Amazing song, Ola! You should really do more of these.
Hits like a sledgehammer made of clouds, enchanted with brutality & emotion at the same time. Just like an amp's, this is the sweetspot for my taste of music. Epic job bro!
Ok, I'd been saving this until I had time to sit and listen to it undisturbed, and wow, am I glad I did. Cannot wait for more!
Definitely beautiful ! Please don't give up on that one, it's mind-blowing ! Gotta love the new BrOla !
So you were hiding the gold right here... 10 out of 10! Love all your stuff, but this is even better.
From 4:54 to 5:58 . I don't know what you were feeling when you find this, or may be you just liked the feel of
the tune, anyways it makes me feel like a man who has the chance to be born again hopefully. It's awesome , whole song is awesome. Thank you Ola.
this is amazing brola!
Oh the memories....remember when i used to go to college listening to this masterpiece. It has such a catchy theme, and the acoustic guitar at the beginning lays down a perfect atmosphere. Hell, thats better than Dream Theater !
Aah this is such a pleasant reminder of my favorite band Opeth, thank you for making this!
Great music, sound amazing, I love this
Definitely liking the Opeth vibes going on- really cool atmosphere added as well- Almost Devin Townsend-y at times. Really like it- Perhaps a bit longer than necessary, but really great. MAKE MORE!! :)
This version is much better than the new in the album in my opinion. Listening to it from the first time Ola released, bound with love!
I get that same feel from the first time I heard Opeths' lighter stuff. Totally cool Ola, much love!
VERY nice, Ola! I love this music!
Fantastic! Another piece of music art. Thank you for sharing 😀. You've got a fan for life my friend.
Amazing Ola! I have listened to this track non-stop since the release! It's a new side of you, that you should keep on showing to us.I will donate as much money as I can to this project. I can't wait for more prog from you! I've never been as much inspired as now! Peace!
wow Ola....beautiful and powerful.
Hey Ola, it sure is humbling to hear you play, your arrangements and your comments. I love this..... please make more!!
That´s Awesome Ola!
Really nice song Ola! I discovered your UA-cam channel recently (4-5 weeks ago) and am devouring your playlist right now. Great fun! Thanks for being so active and entertaining.
I enjoy most of your songs Ola, but this is by far the most enjoyable stuff, for me, you have let us hear so far.
Came back just to check how similar is this compared to the final version. Not surprised to see it's pretty much the same thing, cause it was already great.
this sounds really good, and indeed it is beautiful ..
The best side about Ola, sounds really really great
"...right now I don't feel I have the production/mixing skills to take on a project like this..."
Are you kidding me? Just about every "professional" producer I know could learn a lot from you. At least, that's my opinion based on what I've heard from hearing a couple hundred of your videos.

Simply Stunning.....Ola you amaze me everytime ! Rock on, and see ya at the Musikmesse :D
Really love this tune , would be amazing to hear a entire album like that ! Nice work man !
Great stuff! I really hope, you'll go on with this! Looking forward to part 2 ;)
by making solo guitars lower in the mix, you force the listener to actually listen, fucking genius, Ola. You are the man!! This sounds spectacular:)
I fucking love you Ola. This is pure gold.
This is awesome Ola! I could listen to this for hours!
Seriously, you need to start releasing more stuff like this. This is significantly better than Feared
You can always release this as an EP on bandcamp. I seriously dig this!
I was so surprised by the little funk portion in there, surprisingly good!!
DAAAAAMN this is so good ola!!!!! please make a Album like this
Aah this reminds me very pleasanty of my favourite band Opeth..! I like your music, Mister!!!
Thank you a lot for that song, i love it =)
Sounds awesome! Hope you post more.
Impressed as always Ola! keep doing that please :D i enjoy all of your work!
Excellent Ola! The market for this type music is wide open for you now that Opeth went down the path they did...it's your for the taking Bro!
Amazing man. Hope you can release the entire thing soon. Greetings from Argentina.
Very beautiful... The best...
Better than Feared actually, haha.
Your production always sounds great! I have faith that you could tackle this project by yourself! You're amazing, keep it up!
Sounds great Ola!
Man, this is great! This is what I have been waiting and hoping for from you.
AMAZING track, where is part 2? Can anyone recommend more music like this? Thanks in advance!
This is hands down your best work to date. Well done man. Well done indeed.
This is a good listen, Kinda thought this guy was capable of something else while listening to the wonderful Feared.
Sounds great! Congrats Ola.
Very nice.
Wow this is amzing! Proggy as f***, very nice overall ambiance and super production!
And that guitar playing... :D
Loved This. Hope you're able to record it the way you want.
Cool, Ola! I really like these melodies so far. Take care. =)

Glad to see this finally coming out man!
Really diggin this Ola..great job bro
That is properly AWESOME, mate!!!
Great job, i'm very curious at the idea on a album.
Sounds Amazing! Thank you and keep it up.
the production on all your stuff is great...it's like you give the music space to breathe, yet it's tight as fuck. This sounds like the real deal to me
This is some pretty damn impressive stuff!
I know you most likely get the question often recently Ola, but will there be a Solar Part 2 in 2016?
+Tyler Marmino I really hope so as part 1 was a masterpiece in my opinion
I was wandering why you chose SH-1 and SH-14 to your new signature guitar. These pickups have totally different tone and temper than pickups you're used before like SH-6. Now I know the answer. This is the answer. Great job Ola!
This such an amazing instrumental song. I think it's the best Ola's song - and it's a solo one too. More solo stuff please :P
