This and "Love and other Bruises" would of been big American hits, but they had a long 4 years wait before they made it big.
It was always a fact in the 70's and 80's that a Australian band had to work twice as hard and be twice as talented to make it overseas. Look at AC/DC, they spent years playing the suburbs in inner city venues Australia like footy clubs, school halls before they went overseas and did the tough slog playing support for bands in England and America.
CBS records Australia had a great band on their roster, surprisingly they couldn't get them big locally and internationally like the Little River Band. EMI records locally had a great promotions team and manager to push LRB overseas, while CBS were more interested pushing overseas acts like Boz Scaggs, Meatloaf and Electric Light Orchestra.
Luckily after so much effort and financial hardship that Clive Davis saw something great, and belatedly they made it in America.
Just a pity these early gems were never given the attention they deserved.
