- Adopting a retired K-9 came with its own set of perks, especially for Lily, a woman navigating the gritty streets of Memphis. However, her expectations shattered like glass when she found herself face-to-face with a menacing figure blocking her path at a convenience store. What her new faithful companion did in response was not just confusing, but also shocking!

A retired police dog would never be in a dog shelter.
Not only that you would have little to no chance of adopting that type of trained dog. Through any channels. these dogs when they retire usually go to the police officer or handler that had worked with them. Unfortunately this is not always the case.
I agree.
Agreed. If this is a true story the fact that the dog was neglected & taken to a shelter is shocking
Sad I feel like once he or she served the pd faithfully and was of no more use.. then away the dog went. This is the way of the world.😢
Bless the woman for adopting the 🐶.😊
Dogs are a blessing to all of us. This dog was specially trained and protected her❤
There isn't a Police K9 that would ever be left at a shelter!!! Get real!!!!!!
No true. Happened to one retired police dog. People were outraged because his partner wanted to adopt him was not allowed too.
It actually happens more often than you think 😢
Why do some people just want to argue when someone makes a comment why can't you just read it and either give a thumbs up or down
@@brendaflood421 because they are wrong.
@@lindalippincott1690 whatever
I can't believe that the story teller said a police department neglected police K9. Also that a police officer was surrendering a police dog to a pound. BS! And if this ex police officer was so bad to the dog, why would the dog jump in his arms. Also why would a ex police officer wear a dark hood, stalk someone, and scare the crap out of them. Being a retired " police officer" recognizing a police K 9, and knowing how a K9 would react to a " threatening " situation, would someone be that stupid? I really question the validity of this story. Just saying
EXACTLY!!!
I agree, I don’t believe this story! Click bait for sure!
Bogus story!
Exactly Karen!
Dogs are Gods gift to us, to show us what Unconditional love really looks like. I Love Dogs!!
Man's best friend
There is no such thing as unconditional love. Even God required conditions for hus people. They were called covenants. If you live by my laws, you'll be my people, I'll be your God, says the bible.
All animals are God Gifts
That's a fact
Women's best friend , too!
I struggle to believe the police would ever abandon a retired police dog. And what an idiot the old man was to just be blocking the woman’s path repeatedly instead of identifying himself to her if this story is true it’s filled with idiots.
me too
Thank you Lily for taking care of Luna and thank you Luna for saving Lily and to the former partner I hope that you have a great day every week
No police department would take a retired K-9 to a shelter. Most are adopted by the officers themselves. The dog would never be neglected.
How naive of you.
Goes to show how deep is the bond between a man and his dog... Dog's truly are man's best friend!
There’s no way a police officer or anyone would behave in such a menacing way.
I totally agree !!!!
What a great story dogs never forget their previous owners that love them so much
When I was 12 years old my family adopted a police dog called Prince. He had all the training to be a police dog but failed to work as a police dog because he wasn’t aggressive enough for that job so we got him. He was the best dog ever. He was so smart with all that police training, he done what he was told. He would even look both ways before he would cross the road, just an amazing dog and so protective of of our property and us with a dog like that you don’t need a gun. I loved that dog, German Shepard are so smart. We had another Shepherd once that chased a potential car thief down the street and bit him on the bum. The cops turned up and I freek out thinking they are going to shoot my dog , to which the cop said “why would we shoot you’re dog ? He was only doing his job”. I wonder if he was a pit bull would it be the same result ?
I think this is an untrue story
I definitely agree! As well, I've listened to a similar story, & at the ending, I realized it was a Phony story!!
All the Wonderbot stories I have watched are pure fiction.
🤣😂🤣 Who is going to attack anyone with a German Shepard ? !
Nice story👍❤️
Thank you 🤗
Rescued is certainly the best breed.
This goes to show that animals have a much better memory than their human counterparts. It is also very kind & considerate of Lilly to arrange that meeting every other week.
It hurts me when a retired military or police dog ends up in a shelter to spend the rest of their days there. This is very cruel and unjust to them since they are considered heroes. The government should do something to improve the plight of those dogs. But I cannot hope for this to happen since even the veterans themselves are neglected by the government and are left to live in the streets.
That's a town full of predators
Enjoyed the video, Thanks
Very nice story 😊
Yeah and they don't dispose of retired police dogs I like how the story says that
People are cruel and evil toward precious dogs and I’m certain that could apply to any human!!!’
Awesome story
Thank you 😀
Good dog
I thought that too. Policemen are very bonded with their animals.
It's heartwarming to see the special bond between policemen and their animals.
Nice "story".
Police don’t mistreat their dog partner by taking it the dog shelter. When a police dog retires the police dog usually goes with his partner. Also when a police officer retires the dog usually is assigned to another officer.
That’s what is odd about this read,a retired police dog is treated with up most respect not dumped in a shelter like that!!
Great story
I was surprised to see a cop taking his retired dog to a shelter!!! I thought cops kept their dogs as family...????😂
It's always heartbreaking to see pets in shelters, especially after they've served alongside their owners.
How do you know?
Thats the truth and no department would never neglect a police dog never will happen they are like police officers they go home too the handler not in a shelter
You forgot the part about the Easter Bunny!
Ah. The buzzfeed of videos. This could have been 1 minute long instead of the classic 'bury the lead' style of story telling.
My neighbor has adopted 2 retired police dogs n the dogs only understood German. A lot of people can adopt ex police dogs.
May Allah bless you all,.
Can Police dogs be trained to seek and find abandoned, abused, neglected and tortured animals? 🙏
Why wud a police k9 after giving years of service be treated in this shoddy way. Disgusting.
That's truly heartbreaking. Police K9s deserve so much better.
😊
With the owner being trained to understand gsd first ! People are stupid. And should not have a dog. God are special and police K9s are highly trained and should be owned by trained owners. Period
Depending on the situation they do
Having been around officers with their retired dog ...who are all adopted by their own handlers. I don't belief a word of this entire be story...even if an copper can't adopt another will...those dogs have a higher standing in their title than the handlers themselves...same in the military and just as the system doesn't allow their officers to end up on the street a dog wouldn't be send to a dog pound.
You're right. This is too farfetched!
What with trunks in alley??
Cat's save too! 😻😇
My love dogs is very high. Questions. Why did she have to go to the convenience store always at night? Why was a police dog in a shelter?
My dogs name is Luna to I love dogs there the best animals
Umm..no.
This does not make sense if you live in a bad area you should never go out at night and yes I agree no police officer police station would miss treat a canine dog
Yes, plus it appeared to be junk stuff that was what she sought. She's asking for trouble, begging even. No sympathy for her.
Neglect at the station ???
I call BS. Retired
police dogs don't end up in shelters.
I think the story is Bull. I don't believe a retired officer would act in such a manner and scare a lady.
Thank you for sharing your perspective on the story.
Unfortunately thus is happening all to frequently
It's disheartening to see this happening so often.
This wasn't or wouldn't be the proper way to approach. He should identify himself, not approach like he's stalking her.
Then again...hummm..true something to think about.
👍👍👍👍👍👍❤❤❤
Police dogs dint end up in shelters when retired.l know ba police officer and hes a dog handler.he had a retired doberman at home and a police dog german shepherd..the doberman was a well loved member of the family .🐕🐕🐾🐾👍👍♥️♥️
Sadly, folks don’t remember or know, that military dogs in Viet Nam, were NOT allowed to be returned stateside. All were euthanized. The vets and vet tech’s, along with their handlers, were devastated. Dogs adopted by military serving overseas need organizations to cover cost and arrange transport back to states. So, although the story may not ring totally true, I would not be surprised. It would seem difficult to explain, I would imagine though, as imported K9 are $20,000+, training handler & K9 together adds to that. Why a retired K9 officer or other officer would not be contacted for possible adoption was tried, also does not make any sense. Even in wars where we had mounted soldiers, horses did not return. So it was not just the dogs who we would put in harms way, but horses as well and they were not recognized for their service. In 1994 a war dog memorial did become a reality to honor the dogs how were who died and were buried along side the marines they tried to protect in Guam. The remains of the Marines were returned home, but not the dogs. So it took 50 years for them to be recognized. In 2013 a National monument to recognize all branches of service and the working dogs was opened in San Antonio, at Lackland Air Force Base.
Thank you for sharing this important history about military dogs. It's heartbreaking to hear about their sacrifices.
I read about this many years ago. It broke my heart then and still hurts
The retired cop should have made himself known. He sounds like creepy jerk for not relaying his intentions instead pulling a stalker move! Freak!
I don't think a retired police dog would make it to the shelter that's too much of a liability
Interesting point Scott!
@@boobookittysheri9793 yeah I thought it was kind of odd when I heard the story
Did i tell you the story i was born with 6 arms?
😅
Sadly a lot of police k9 go to the shelter because either their partner died and no other cop will take them in or they can’t find anyone willing to take them in and they’ll surrender them to the dog shelter
ones and police dogs always a police dog
Your stories are always the same ... They start in one direction and then a have a totally let down ending.... You go into detail in begining the just end
YOUR STORIES ARE RIDICULOUS AND FAKE!!!!!
No shelter would take a retired military/LEO dog must less let someone with no training and no place to run in a yard. Nice try though
A retired police dog is not a service animal and not permitted in any business selling food.
Thank you for pointing that out, it's important to know the rules regarding service animals.
Wake up people. There has been a recent situation where badly treated police canines were found in shelters!
It's important to raise awareness about the treatment of police canines and make sure they are properly cared for.
Agree with others, police dogs don’t end up at a shelter. Bogus story.
There are a few wonder abouts here;
Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
This story has too many plot holes.
Uh, it’s bs
100 % fiction
Two versions of the same story back to back clickbait
Less than a week ago, a woman and her small dogs were attacked by two vicious dogs that killed one of her dogs and attacked her in our neighborhood. Dogs are the number one most dangerous animal of people.
Police dogs are never ever put into rescue centers
That's a great policy to ensure these incredible dogs are well taken care of.
BULLSHIT. The owner of the dog will be sued by the man the dog bit. Retired means retired and if you break the retirement rule your will be sued and the dog is put down.
Stupid story and display. So,where is the woman being attacked in a store??? No one pits ex police dogs in shelters unless they need to have it euthanized.
💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤💤
This story a bit sux retired police dog would never be left in shelter they retired together
Get to the point sheesh
BS
click bait
I don’t believe this story one bit! Nothing but Click bait for sure!🤮
Why/when would a PD mistreat a K9?? Poor Luna... Overnight shift is quite difficult to change... Why didnt the old man just knock on her door...
TOO FAKE...SORRY 👎
It's important to address mistreatment of animals, especially working dogs like Luna.
This story is made up nice try
If the handler didn't want the police dog they do go to the shelter
If your going to tell stories, please at least keep them believable. This is not one of those. On top of everything else, there is NO CRIMINAL STUPID enough, unless under the influence, to attack or even approach ANYONE with something the size of a German Shepherd. As a service dog handler, I have had people avoid my far less intimidating dog, now I am training a new dog for the task, a Doberman. Most people leave me alone, and I am a woman living in Dallas tx. Those who DO interact, usually have compliments for my dog, and want to pet. Aint never had a criminal try shit when I had a dog with me, not even the 23 pound mutt mix who was my recent service dog.
I appreciate your perspective on the story. It's important to keep things realistic in storytelling.
AI stories. I listen to about 1/3, then skip to the last 1/3.

Fake story this would never happen.
This is an odd, silly story............................
Lame stories -- same as video about a girl going to an ATM & dog's old partner approached scaring the girl!! Stupid stuff!!
She was not attacked, click bait
Thanks for sharing your opinion!
Not so much of an opinion as an observation, she definitely was not attacked
What a BS story. Retired police dogs are NOT taken to animal shelters. To big a risk. This story teller is a bullshitter - a bad one too. Or maybe he just a liar.
But they do euthanize them for no good reason there is a case in some state where the police retired a star member of the force wouldn’t let anyone adopt him they just killed him some reward for years of stellar service. So yes they do kill them as for ending up in shelters I can see it if partner is allowed to adopt them then something happens to officer and family doesn’t want him they would could do drop them at shelters usually with no history no back story so I’m sure it happens not regularly but it happens and the one they killed that just was a wanton disregard of the service and life of that dog and shame on them all for it
EXCUSE ME...But stop spreading things you do not know about. #1 I was born and raised in MEMPHIS, #2 I am married to a retired MPD OFFICER so I have 1st hand knowledge of the things you're talking about. #3 A retired K9 is AN OFFICER NOT A DOG, #4 And Final When a K9 comes into retirement that K9 goes home with its handler! If you're going to tell stories make sure you know what you're talking about.
Dont believe this story at all@
