"Absenthe with Devi"l is actually remind me of a poem of Hristo Smirnenski, a Bulgarian author a poem "Visit the Devil " where he drink absenthe with Mefistofel. A very starge poem , one of last of his before he die in 1923. In the poem the Mefistofel drink absenthe with author and explain to him how he was good and he was marry to "Honest", but she cheat on him and he become Unhonest and evil and most people like it.. etc etc.. I grew up in a Christian family, i find it perplexing that You can appreciate Cradle and keep your faith though. I've been a huge Cradle fan for over 2 decades now and they helped me cast aside Christianty long ago. They are very forward in their distain for God. How does that sit with you?
i'm a huge metal head, and i not only believe in God as in think he exists, i agree with God and Jesus Christ and it's to the extent i have visions even how deeply involved i am, however aside from that, early on i realized that metal and christianity is not as contradictory as it would appear at first glance, almost all dark metal is written about God in some context, about a relationship with God even if it's from a bitter perspective it's still about their relationship with God, which doesn't make it a bad thing. I think The Lord takes blasphemy very seriously, but at the same time I know God to be very reasonable and can't help but imagine for some of the stuff that is tainted with some blasphemy they might still have an affinity for the creativity behind some of it the same as we do as fans. Whenever i listen to stuff like some of Decapitated's(on of my personal fav bands) earlier works where the drummer is just going apeshit i can just imagine God creating the universe listening to something like that.
I met Danny Filth at a festival, what a fantastic, friendly and accomadating guy, I told him I had been trying to get a drink for 2hrs, off he went and got me one. .i wasn't a fan but will always remember him for his kindness. Yes absinthe is legal I have bottle on my shelf "the green fairy" it's 80proof thats all just makes you drunk nothing else.
Absinthe is now fully legal in the U.S., and there's a lot of false propaganda about it. It's a great drink that is actually great for artistic inspiration. French absinthe is where it's at though, that's the real deal. Cool that you reacted to this song, it's a seriously underrated Cradle song in my opinion. Fun fact, this song is entirely composed by former keyboardist Martin Powell. He also played guitar on this, so he told me in an interview I made years ago.

i saw C.O.F. live back in 1995-96 (Rainbow Club - Milan - Italy) and their supporting, opening band was OPETH, that at the time was pretty unkown in Italy!!! OPETH did a very good show!!! i remember that D. Filth when he came out on stage was wearin a robe that made him stumble on his feet!!! that was hilarious!!! i also remember that when D. Filth was walkin out the venue he wore very high heels/wedges shoes which it made him as tall as me and i'm 5.2 feet tall!!! these anecdotes are pure fun, my humble opionion!!!

I find it pedantic, self-aggrandizing and rather empty like a bad art critic who is more writing to call attention to himself that out of curiosity about his subject. Sometimes it is ok.
