I tell you something I'm half German and polish my husband it's Slovakia we live 32 years in UK ,we both walking with dog for this same charity ,we never experience what you are but us friends yes and she was neglected by NHS even after losing baby she gets massive depression and one day she makes a suicide and jump from 1 floor window and even then nobody help her ,my last pregnancy I don't feel well and my daughter having traumatic birth premature and I was in hospital lot of early because my water broke 1 month before due date ( I have a planned c section because of previously c section's) in hospital they every day coming and telling me tomorrow it's your emergency c section I was from Monday in hospital I don't have any contractions just water broke, Tuesday I waiting nothing any c section, then again nurse telling me Tuesday definitely you will have a c section then wednesday it's again this same situation that Thursday definitely, but after 2 h they discharge me home with water leaking and book appointment for checkup on Friday,i live 4 min from hospital go home and 7 pm i was taking a bath and i start shivering and i don't feel if water its cold or hot and i know that its symptoms of sepsis because year before i get sepsis after c section my son ,i know symptoms and i screaming i have a sepsis i must go right now to hospital, taxi come and then i get contractions i complain from Monday that i don't feel very well and i was ignored,in hospital doctor surgeon said you are very ill its sepsis i can't perform surgery because you never recover and if i making surgery this is death sentence, you must give birth naturally and then nightmare start because I was ill powerless and natural birth was impossible I tried but I can't body don't listen to me and I having c section all doctors and all staff was scared because I'm in critical condition and c section they know I will die ,next day they move me but this same staff and surgery doctor comes visit me every day and give me support and check it on me , they was shocked that I survived and my daughter because she was infected as well,I know that in UK NHS it's the worst in all the world because in Poland, German, Slovakia,Czech republic if mum having risk pregnancy then she will be keeping in hospital all 9 months and all doctors will tried support pregnancy, but here in UK they never support risk pregnancy that's why it's bad doctors ,in this countries what I mentioned before you will have the best doctors and care

Hi there, we are so sorry to hear your friend was not offered the healthcare support she had hoped for during her pregnancy and of the difficulties she experienced with her mental health as a result. I can hear what a challenging time you have had in your pregnancy with your daughter as well, thank you for sharing your experience with us and I am really pleased you felt able to reach out to us.
Having a baby, especially having a traumatic birth may feel overwhelming and difficult and to be able to advocate for yourself when you are in hospital and beyond can feel challenging. I hear how dismissed and neglected you feel as a result of your treatment and the frustration you feel with the service provided by the NHS. I am so pleased to hear you and your daughter are both doing well, but I wanted to let you know about some organisations who may be able to offer some support for you to help you process your birth experience whilst sharing the frustrations you have about your care.
The Birth Trauma Association are a charity offering support for anyone affected by a traumatic birth in various circumstances, so I have added a link to their website for you to take a look if you feel able to. The Birth Trauma Association
If you wanted to you could also make a complaint about the care you received at the hospital responsible. Every hospital in the UK should have a Patient Advice and Liaison Service to support you with this so please do feel free to take a look at the hospital that cared for you and ask to speak to someone from PALS.
I hope that is useful, please do continue to reach out to us if you need any further support. You can email us at helpline@sands.org.uk or speak to us on our helpline for free on 0808 164 3332 Mon-Fri 10am-3pm or Tues, Weds, Thurs 6pm-9pm.
