This is the best RT video I’ve seen yet and I’ve watched a lot of them before talking my husband into buying us a used RT RS Adventurous. Ours is a 2006 and we love it. Am definitely interested in getting the window vents and faucet for ours. Thanks for sharing your RT! Hope you both safe and fun adventures ahead. Although we’ve done a lot of traveling cross country I’m still trying to talk my husband into boondocking!😉

Hey Steve! Thanks for the video. I have a quick and easy fix for you on the steps. On how to keep them in. If you get the Magnet Source .118 in. L X .709 in. W Silver Super Disc Magnets 6.5 lb. pull and place it next to the magnet already in the door jam that causes the step to move in and out, it will keep it in. And all you need to do is slide the magnet away to have the step come out if you want it to come out. It works awesome for me and no need to mess with the wiring.
Good point about the windows. I wish the bathroom was in the back for a more open feel to the van. Thank you for letting us learn from your experience.
Great review! Windows design, insulation and lack of under closet pull out tray seem to be the main opportunities for product improvement in this model. Hopefully, Roadtrek is looking!

You did an exquisite job on the tour! I’ve been a Roadtrek fan for years and plan to go full time very soon. My favorite was the Roadtrek 190 with the ‘shower in the isle’ extension. On THIS one that option is history...bad imo and game changer #1. Also, in ALL class b’s a sink is built into the shower taking up space. Really? IMO such a bad move on that part with ANY manufacturer and being game changer #2. The ‘control panel’ over the door is from the old days of Roadtrek and, imo, somewhat cheap (game changer #3 for me) compared to other manufacturers like Pleasureway who use two touch screen panels, one front and one rear. Other than those three things the van is quite nice. My preference of Roadtrek is STILL the 190 and it also being a Chevrolet. It had all the gadgets his one has as well. So with those three game changers of ‘this’ van I’m more than likely gonna go with the Pleasureway Lexor TS. Thanks for the excellent tour and happy camping! Stay safe and God Bless!

Nice tour! We love the window vents...we are wondering where you got them. Steve, we like where you put the fire extinguisher and we are going to copy you! Also Carrie noticed your go pro mount on the dash...ours is on the window and not user friendly. Looks like you guys are from Ontario! We love Ontario and had a great time there earlier this year. Our promaster came with the UPS clipboard on the dash where we use the clamp for our gopro....guessing you have the same perhaps??
Yep we have the built in clipboard. Now we just have to locate the clamp that came with our GoPro. Thank you!
Thanks for the window vent link! We ordered our seat swivel from this site and didn’t notice the vents. I wish we would have got them while we were still working our full time jobs. Great information to share thank you guys.

Lracnolip I bought it on amazon. EPEVER MT50 Black Remote Meter LCD Diaplay For Solar Charge. The curtains I bought from bed bath and beyond. I had to mount an L bracket on the right hand side for the adjustable curtain rod. Thx for your post!

We leave our bed made all the time. There is not much room to store it.
Great Canadian (difficult to find) review of the Zion, by far the best we've watched, very honest and detailed. having spent quite a lot of time in your rig, would you recommend the purchased of a zion. Is there anyway I can pm you with some more questions regarding the Zion ? As we live in Niagara Falls its good to have some Canadian input to help with our purchase. Thanks Gary in NF.

Thanks for your thoughtful review. I’m always watching reviews and hoping the reviewer steps into the shower and closes the door (holding the camera). Can you actually sit on the toilet with the door closed to do your business, or is that impossible? I realize you utilize alternatives when possible, but when not possible, can this be used with any degree of privacy?

Steve, GREAT video. We’re thinking about purchasing our first camper can, and this really helped! Question: I’m assuming the fridge runs continuously off the batteries, right? Sadly, it doesn’t look like there’s room for a couple of sets of golf clubs. 😛😢
Yes the fridge runs off the batteries but with the solar and under hood generator we have never had a problem! Yes though you are right...not enough space for extras...

The best review I’ve seen. If your in the market to spend that kind of money this is very helpful. My only concern is Roadtrek is not the same company since it re opened. Quality wise, or is it. I experienced this with a California manufacturer that sold to a large company and it was not a good experience.
Thx! We bought ours from the old company. Have not heard about quality with new company however they said they were going to ramp up slowly so they can address any quality issues before going out the door.

Something I see with the front-facing sofa is the ability to recline it. Is that something you can do with the side-sofa configuration? Or would your head hit the side of the van? I’m 5’11” so not too much shorter than you.
Scott Somers the side facing sofa reclines as well....we sleep back to front and it gives you at least 6’ 3”. I am 6’ and it works much better than sleeping side to side.

Just wondering where you bought you RT from and would you recommend them.
We bought it in Ontario at Forest City RV in London. Unfortunately right after we bought it they made the decision to close up as they were one of the largest Roadtrek Dealers in Canada and new that getting new product with the company in rough shape would make it hard for them.
Spare tire, Jack and lug wrench?ladder to the roof for maintenance option?
The spare tire is a full spare mounted underneath the rear of the van. It comes with a crank to lower it down on a cable to the ground. Its real easy to use. The lug nut wrench and jack i store in the pull out drawers underneath the rear seats/bed. If you want to install a ladder that is something you have to do on your own. We chose not to install one. Thanks for catching this!

My husband and I are considering purchasing a new 2019 Zion and found your video to be very helpful- thank you!! I do have a couple of questions for you: Has the reduced warranty affected your opinion on the value of owning this vehicle? And secondly, where have you been traveling in Mexico and do you recommend it/is it safe?
I am glad my video was helpful! When we purchased our Zion we knew that Roadtrek was likely not going to survive on its own so we were not really worried about losing the warranty. You still get the Chrysler warranty on the chassis and engine. So no the warranty did not detract from the value in our opinion. We went all over mexico and did not have any problems with police or bad people. Also if you are interested in Mexico we have a playlist on our youtube channel of our trip through mexico. I think we have so far uploaded 27 videos and have more to come. Best of luck with your decision. We love our Zion!

Very helpful. I'm thinking of the Roadtrek for my first RV. Now that you've had it a year, do you still have it? Are you still "reasonably" pleased...knowing of course that there are other options. Would you buy another Roadtrek Zion? Thanks.
We still have it. Did not like the back layout so we removed lower drawers and sofa and built a fixed bed higher so that there was more storage space. I am happy with the pro master van itself...no issues....but I am starting to see quality issues on the road trek side. If I was going to do it again I would have built out my own van. All in all yes we like the Zion! Best of luck!

Low mileage and supposedly in new condition. So I'm going to take a look at it...and perhaps that will be my first RV. Happy and safe travels.

Sorry but I never liked that low suspension bar on the rear wheels. Too low to the ground if your boon docking.
I agree, however we boondock all the time and have not had any problems....we spent three months driving through Mexico....

I would ask them why there isn’t a spare. We have not had a flat tire yet but they should still provide you with one!

Honestly we love our Zion. I am not going to say everything is perfect but we would buy one again knowing what we know now! Best of luck with your decision!

Hi I am actually looking at a brand new 2019 w zero mileage n the want 93K 🧐🧐🧐what do you think 🤔 n how reliable the van is also how hard or easy to maintain 🤔🤔🤔thank you
For new that is a fair price! We have put 28,000km on our Zion so far and have had zero problems. As any vehicle gets older there will be some maintenance required, however at the beginning again we have found it easy to take care of. Hope this helps and good luck!
