That’s cool. Yeah I put there lift on my 04 grand Cherokee limited one owner no rust 70k miles the Jeep was a dream. Put there 4 inch lift on with 31s I hated it soo much I immediately sold it. @@MaddJakd It's a relatively new trend. The "grey hairs" didn't pioneer it, they're used to old school lifted trucks with more tire than wheel. You also can't paint everyone with one brush, there will always be exceptions and people who enjoy everything. It's only people who gatekeep that get bothered by it.

I've had very good experiences with my Rough Country lift. I just have a one and three-quarter inch suspension lift. I installed the 2.0 shocks and while doing some rock crawling and flexing at Rausch Creek (in PA) a year-and-a-half later, I actually popped my driver side front shock. Rough Country replaced the shock, actually Rough Country replaced both front shocks for me free of charge. I was interested in the N3 as an upgrade and mentioned to the staff that I would like to upgrade all 4 corners. They gave me that option by only paying the difference from the 2.0 to the N3. Basically got all the shocks for $40. The two front free and the $20 difference per shock in the rear! Absolutely amazing. Also loved the ride of the N3 and I've also had them rock crawling. Yep, Rough Country 4 Life.

Just be sure to add new sway-bars to it.
I did the 7.5" inch Rough Country lift kit to my 2002, and it was dangerous to drive with the stock sway-bars.

I've had Rough Country stuff all the way up to my Kelderman on my new F250 and for the money their stuff is great. You can't expect a $500 RC Lift to ride anywhere near as good as a $13k Kelderman and that's I think why they get so much hate. This was a better video then I thought it would be...very nice to hear about made in the USA and how many Americans employed...I'm a OG desert guy, here in southern Kalifornia that's our off roading and there was a while when RC shocks were on every top race truck..including guys like Walker Evans. But time marched on and now days for entry level desert guys I recommend Bilsteins. Here we don't really do lift kits, we do suspension kits with the goal of not lift but wheel travel...and of course better damping.
Again it was good to hear how well their kits are designed and produced.

Owned multiple lifted 99-07 chevys each having a 6 inch RCX kit installed by me. Truck rides just fine, and a very easy install. it could deffinetly use better shocks but at less than $1100 shipped to your door what more can you expect? Quality is perfectly fine, we beat the absolute piss out of ours and have never had a problem. My 1 and only issue with RCs lift kits is you have to crank torsion bars to get your full 6" of lift. Other kits like BDS or McGauthys are true 6" kits with the option to crank to 8 if your feelin frisky, but there also almost double the price as RCX so you do the math. 2 inches for another $1000? Na, ill keep my RCX with fox monotubes rides like a dream

They also made the truck ride like absolute crap. Wide trucks real thing is jumping, but that also depends on your setup. If Rough Country has high performance off road like competition or rally they should offer those options as well. 👍

With that said, the rear shocks that came with the lift were completely shot after about 4K miles, absolutely blown to oblivion, only 4K miles, not only one but both shocks. So I swapped them for Fox 2.0 shocks instead of even attempting a warranty replacement. But the lift itself is solid.

In the end, it will save money on coils, alignments, tires, steering and suspension parts. I am using BDS NX2 shocks with old Zone 4" lift kit on WJ and full JK BDS lift, They are fantastic. If you look hard online, you can get BDS a lot cheaper than from shops or even BDS website.

I have had my 6" RC lift on my 2013 Laramie for 5 years now.. I've had zero mechanical issues with it.. The one and only complaint I have is the components are all rusted and look like shit... The front blocks are complete rough rust color so when I have the wheels turned you can see how bad they look as well as you can't even read the rough country on the shocks anymore because they are completely rusted out!... Im sure with the harsh Iowa winters any thing would rust out with all the damn snow and salt but the kit itself has been awesome and ride is still close to stock.. Well worth the money

I had an 06 Sierra half ton with rc 6in ntd lift.. n2.0 shocks. Rode like a wood cart..2 schocks were blown out by 28k miles.. hope there new gen stuff is better.. just upgrade shocks to bilstiens.. rc lift took every thing I threw at it tho. Def tuff.. I miss that truck

I made custom lift kits in the 1980’s. Rough country makes a great lift. Are there better shocks? Depends on what you want to use the vehicles for. If you can mix rough country with King or Fox coil overs, it’s a great mix. If your truck is new enough you can use the rough country vortex, which is a great shock.
I have a 2008 F-150, and rough county doesn’t offer the vortex in that model year. Actually rough country only offers vortex starting in 2014 F-150. This is the year Ford changed the lower control arm design in preparation for the 2015 truck.

I ran their Vertex Shocks on my old 2007 JK and they performed just as good as any other similar shock that normally cost twice as much. Perfectly comfortable on the street and great performance out on the trails. I wouldn't hesitate to buy their products again in the future.

My first lift was a RC 3” on a Cherokee. Complete junk. Less than a year the front coils were down below 2” The rear had a “add a leaf” the 2’ super thick ones and steel blocks. The u bolts were too big for the d35 axle tube. Rear end rode like a ridge frame motorcycle. Eventually got new F springs (not rc) longer shackles (ditche the blocks) and long add a leafs. Along with drop pitman arm and angle blocks for axle alignment. It was a great learning experience, you get what you pay for. The quality was very bad and no engineering or thought went into that kit. This was in 2005, kit ordered from JC Whitney. True to the name rough, but just the rear. front was too busy being sagging under the weight of a 2 door Cherokee. Shocks were fine till I sold it, put sky jacker decals on them.
