Wow, this is like a JRPG video game implemented on to the board game platform. I didn't really know much details about this game up till now until I watch this. Now I am really interested. Thanks.
This game looks stellar. Rarely do I get that feeling that a game was made for me, but this game is seeming more and more like one of those rare times. My only remaining concern is the price structure for expansions. I know you mentioned in the video that the designers said the game wouldn't be priced in the realm of KDM, but I can't help but wonder if they plan to do their expansions like KDM does. Perhaps the core game comes in at $200-300, but then we get ten add-on expansions that are $40-100. The cynical part of my brain is imagining an $800 all-in pledge championed by a bunch of superfans claiming it's a great deal because "at least it's not KDM prices". Hopefully that's a worst-case scenario that doesn't come to pass, because I really want to go all-out on this one!

They’ve said earlier and officially announced today it will not be that much. But how much really? Still probably my guess is mid $2-300
Well, assuming that they will deliver, and every aspect of this game will click, I would propably go in even if it would be KDM price level. I am really into japanese folklore and mythology, so I am super excited. And also this little horror chill pulls me in. But we will see if the complexity would not ruin playability. I really hope that devs will deliver some prototypes or even tts prototype to test the game

I already have Oathsworn & Aeon Trespass , but geeze this looks good. This and Agemonia are my two most anticipated this year. Agemonia I think I can justify but with Sankokushin how do I convince myself that its okay to have 3 large boss battlers.
@ Yeah, I can just fit it in between my unfinished Gloomhaven, Bloodborne, 7th Continent, Tainted Grail, ISS Vanguard, & Star of Arcarios campaigns. It used to be that you had time to complete and sell games before the next one came out. Now wallets just bleed.
This and the mortal kombat game are the only 2 left that I'm interested in. I passed on primal so I could get more for vampire the masquerade chapters and Nova aetas renaissance.

How is VtM by the way? It was on my radar but couldn't pull the trigger based on what was initially shown
For me its going to be between this or Harakiri: Blades of Honor. The biggest con for me on Sankokushin is the fact that you have to assemble the minis. I promised myself after Kingdom Death Monster I’d never do that again lol. But man the game looks so good!! I love the art, different mechanics, and the flavor text on the cards smh. That’s what is keeping me on the edge is Sankokushin looks so good but if Harakiri can make me feel the same way before it launches, I’ll save my money for that game over Sankokushin. I don’t think Harakiri will launch for awhile and they have released a little bit of info on BGG but not as much as Sankokushin. We shall see. Going to be tough to hold back for sure.
I think Harakiri is late 2021/early 2022 so plenty of time after Sankokushin. Maybe they allow time between similar thematic games in order not to competite each other.

Never knew i could feel excited, happy, guilty and terrified all at once until i discovered kickstarter board games lol. But honestly it may happen is will do my best. Like I said I am not a fan of assembling miniatures after KDM. HIPS is different then Resin though but idk if the experience will be any different in assembly.

@ They're just opening the pm now. It looks like it's going to be delayed even more than most Kickstarters, but I just hope the end product holds up.

nope, there are cards in that kickstarter that were free and usable for the game. those cards are purchasable in the board game kickstarter
No need. they made it clear that you can buy the game portion (deck) during the campaign.

Seeing the pattern of where the market is? Core box around 150. Gameplay expansions bring it to 300. All bells and whistle past 400.
They haven't said yet, I am expecting around $400.
