    Wow, I was just thinking about this. My Palestinian mother-in-law made them when she lived with us. I never got to see her make them though so this is great. It was like she would snap her fingers and it was made!!
    Love it!!!

      Nice to know--yes the cousa pulp works great with this. I will have a fun and unique recipe using the cousa pulp this summer so stay tuned for that.

    I made these last night for dinner, with a cucumber/tomato salad and some baba ganoush for dipping--we loved them!
    They remind me a little bit of petite okonomiyaki (Japanese cabbage pancake). I've experimented with variations on that theme over the years, using broccoli, kimchi, or zucchini instead of cabbage, but hadn't even considered cauliflower - what a treat.

    • @blanchetv

      OMG love your dinner! Yes they are kind of like okonomiyaki come to think of it, though I have never tried making those pancakes before. So glad you like this version!

    You’re so right about reminders of childhood - was just telling my sister I lived on these fritters in pita from grade school through to university! 😂.

    I did them today and my husband says that to he would like to have them on Friday because it is meat free dish. cauliflower was 1 €, Joghurt 65 cents, herbs and veggies 1€, eggs , flour and starch 1€ also. 4€ serves up to six
    Leftovers are great with bread and veggies...we love it ♥️♥️♥️

    Oh I have been waiting for this! My husband is not a big vegetable person. He doesn’t like the way they feel in his mouth. The texture you know😂😂😂
    Anyhow I just found this great broccoli potato and onion patty that you dip into Tzatziki sauce. I think he’d be ok with that. I saw your little things here and I thought I bet you he’ll be down with this? We will see.

    • @blanchetv
      @blanchetv  2 роки тому +1

    LOL. shal-lot is not the American (or French) pronunciation, though of course the French has an extra syllable at the beginning.

    • @elisabeth6167
      @elisabeth6167 11 місяців тому

      The correct pronunciation of shallot is, according to Merriam-Webster, both: shə-ˈlät or ˈsha-lət ,
      so you are right in any case!
      The french word is different: une échalote.

    I could not eat fancy Middle Eastern dishes right now. I know you have to make a living and Middle Eastern cooking is your forté, but I wish youd switch to do something different, something far more important for this moment in history, until history dramatically improves. Ask God/Allah for that direction. Thank you.

    • @blanchetv
      @blanchetv  2 роки тому +3

      First of all, this is not a fancy dish, it is a peasant's dish that stretches out vegetables when meat is scarce for those on a budget. If you do not like Middle Eastern food, what drew you to this channel since this channel is literally called Feast In the Middle east? What is more important to you?
