Any show about Falcons is a winner!
Amen!
WOW ! Great News ..... I have been waiting 33 years for this part to swap out my 6 cylinder for a V8 on my 1965 Falcon 2 door sedan ...... already broke spindle once with 6 cylinder while driving.
Got Lucky ! Heard a loud noise then pulled over the Falcon to curb then spindle and wheel fell off the car. Thank God I didn’t crash on highway
Like your shows. Keep it up!
I never miss an episode on either channel
Ford guys be loving this. Good show Jeff!
Another great video
Fatman sells spindles at stock and 2" drop for these Fords.
Which is good because you can get the drop without compromising the already limited front suspension travel.
yeah!!!
Hey I just got these for my 62 comet
I suggest that you show how to adjust bump steer.
It is quite simple, almost easy,
and Ive used it on Granada and all spindles regardless of car type.
Very cool part to add to the falcon lineup! No more Granada stuff!
Granada (etc) stuff is good.
ALL front ends need bump steer adjusted.
Granada 11" discs are fine with proper pads etc.
Dont use the $8 crap from AZ etc.
Granada is good for 1967 and later Mustangs/Cougars, Fairlane/Torino/66-67 Comet/Montego and Maverick/'71-'77 Comet but the early cars had a dramatic difference in tie rod position that makes it very hard to adjust out without radical modifications.
63 Fairlane did have a 2 year suspension setup, don't remember if it was 62/63, or 63/64, had a 63 and dealer was the only place to get alignment done.
Hey Jeff there is also a steering corrected 70 drum brake spindle , you get the bigger outer bearings.
Yup, we will cover those on here with the Torino...if we can ever get out to Texas to pick it up...
@@AutoRestoMod that will be a good one to watch. I picked up some Torino Spindles for a disk break conversion on my Galaxie.
Sweet that means I should be able to convert my mavericks from drums to disk. 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻🔧🔧🔧🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
I'd go with the later Mustang spindle. these are specifically for the early cars.
Do you know if mustang II spindles will work on a 65 mustang stock suspension?
Im trying to find these as i am converting my 63 falcon to a v8. The only thing i can find is the scott drake C5ZZ instendig of C5DZ, is it the same? Also, is there any additional parts than the spindles i need for these to fit? Thanks in advance!:)
does anyone know if the wilwood v8 disc brake kit will fit on these?
Hallmark should make one as a Christmas ornament.
Lol!
Cool. Been thinking of replacing mine on my 64 falcon. But I need to do some research first. As my falcon was a factory road race car. And the v8 that is in it is a 427 cammer. So I don't know if Ford used special parts on it or not.
Interesting. There is no telling what happened on that one!
What type of disk brakes are you guys thinking of installing? I just bought the Kelsey Hayes style from CSRP for my ‘67 FB and can’t wait to get them on!
We'll be possibly using Stainless Steel Brake.
I see you did a Unisteer setup .I have the Unisteer on my 65 falcon I'm only getting 1-1/4 from center to lock & on there web page it is to be 2-1/2 center to lock so I call & they said they are not using this setup for the 65 Falcon any longer .I was just wondering if I missed a stop but I think I removed all stops from the spindles & they also want you to use 63-64 Falcon spindles I thing that has to do with the hole for the ty rod mounting. Unable to do a 90 degree turn .
We did one ages ago on a '67 Mustang. Ours didn't have a problem and turned in the same area as original. I haven't installed a Unisteer on a Falcon so I can't really help there.
Great Chanel!
Can you use this V8 spindle, and still keep the 4 lugs disk brake kit from SSBC-USA?
Thank you.
The spindle is a different size I think. Seems like the four lug is smaller. It MIGHT work but you'd have to have different bearings than stock and that could be the issue.
chockostangclassicmustang.com sells the stock 4 piston style brakes that will bolt onto these spindles.
Are they castings or forgings?
According to Stang-Aholics site, who is a distributor for the spindle, they are forged.
Jeff, any options for us 68 falcon guys?
Scott Drake has a spindle for that application: 1964-70 LH BIG BEARING SPINDLE: C5ZZ-3106-HD/1964-70 RH BIG BEARING SPINDLE: C5ZZ-3105-HD
Any idea if those work with mustang Steve disc brake swap goodies?
Does it fit 1967 Fairlane with drum brake
Yes. As does Granada and the heavier mid 70s Torino types.
No. But the Scott Drake C7OZ-3105 is a great alternative. Granada spindles will work well here too.
What about 67 Fairlane
Those use a different part number. I don't have it right here but I know it is different.
@@AutoRestoMod thanks that would be super useful
Differences are minimal. Arm length, angle, taper diameter, etc.
Setting them up with proper geometry adjustments is the key.
I know. I know. Everybody wants a bolt on kit that takes no effort to make correct.
Just remember... Lowered suspension changes the geometry relationships. So every car is different.
