- War on the Sea | Allied Mediterranean Campaign | Ep. - Cruiser Carnage!
Hi all, we will be taking a look at pombruv's Early Mediterranean campaign for War on the Sea.
We will command the Allied forces as we look to secure Malta and take control of the Mediterranean from the joint Italian and German Forces!
MOD - VERSION 2.2 pombruv's Atlantic & Mediterranean Campaigns (with Axis player options) steamcommunity...
ABOUT THE MOD
This mod is NOT historically accurate.
If you are looking for a historically accurate mod with all the right ships and planes then you are out of luck I'm afraid. This mod isn't it - and never will be. Think of it as a fictional account based very loosely on actual events, a bit like most Hollywood war movies.
It is just intended to be a bit of fun so that we can spend some time pitting the British against the Italians and Germans with a little bit of USA thrown in later. This is just a series of opportunities to blow stuff up and have lots of battles - and that's it really.
Also, I have only a limited number of ships and planes I have been given permission to use so rather than just have Allied and Axis forces comprising 3 or 4 accurate ships/planes of the correct period, I've bunged them all in together just so you have plenty of things to blow up - and plenty of things to blow other things up with.
So ignore history like I have. Just go: Boom! Crash! Whizz! Brrrrrt! Sploosh! - and have fun for fun's sake. Forget immersion, it's just a game.
But, if you really, really, need historical accuracy then I believe a new more historically accurate Atlantic mod is on the way. There is also a similarly accurate Mediterranean mod in the pipeline too. I recommend you wait for them, I'm sure they will be much better mods anyway :)
Bomber crews really stepped up their game this episode
No Kill like Overkill.🤣
"This is just a series of opportunities to blow stuff up and have lots of battles", works for me.
Did he just forget number 8?
A cruiser hat trick. Nice.
Spitfires with RP-3 rockets are very good at deleting destroyers, u-boats and sometimes cruisers. Just leaving that for you.
thank you Taff, that is quiote an episode, lets hope the next one goes just as well
It's a Taff in exile marathon today!
The ringing of them bombs ringing that steel was shocking
Good to see some effective torpedo strikes. Was starting to wonder if they had any use at all.
Fantasy WWII, though interesting to watch, as always. Thanks Taffy!
By my count that’s 109,468 tons sunk. A pretty productive day for your air and naval assets
6mins 50in game and a great start to the day taff
Great episode Congrats on the sinkings.
Dive dive dive the battle ship nice work 😂
You have enough command points for a BB, plus the weekly turnover will take place in a day, again saying, no further Nelson or QE class BBs, get the newer once if you want a BB. BTW, nice revenge by the RN for the Nelson.
A good day at the office, the game will have to make up for it I suspect
looks like the engineers back in britain have upgraded the bombers’ sights, got way more hits than all the last runs
You more than avenged Nelson, though you must get Incomparable in the task force. 20inch guns are not to be overlooked.
The B-17 is way, way too overpowered! Could you imagine the news reports if the Axis LOST 8 cruisers in a day!? "B-17's Sink 8 Italian Cruisers - Italy Sues for Peace!" Like you did for the subs, consider leaving them out, or only using the B-17 for strategic targets. Leave the anti shipping to Swordfish, Brewster's, etc.
Screw that! This is war, Peacock!
I’m going to play again this campaign when air power is going to be balanced
Why aren't you using your subs to sink the ships??
Was level bombing at high altitude ever this effective in WW2? I don't think so. Best bombardiers in the ETO.
Playing 'World of Warships' by WB, I can attest that the Italian Cruisers are VERY LONG, and easy to hit!
I gotta learn how to install this mod....
